you know what i like on this video on youtube? everybody that is here, like this song, so, everybody here in this video comments, are just mind opened as me, hard to find people like all you, but we are all friends, we love this song and we can understand what this song means, what is special in it, and we listen to it, doesnt matter it have 17 minutes... thanks youtube, and ou are all my friends...
screaming monkey stick wishy washy swiss army knife bed ridden brief case heads formulaic tonsil hockey seething in a redemption free bag of asps and incestuos monotony gratis exalted fist full of flames and chargrilled vegetables this piss stained vile featurette followed by sheep followed by sheep it was great seeing you die in a tie from a tree in your sleep economy flights blurry and subdued in 17 layers of destiny i announce my destiny a full flavoured whine into textless days
If you want this on an album, get the 2003 compilation album Legacy:Best of The Doors,so you can hear this in its entirety(as opposed to having to hear in 2 parts on You Tube)
@ThePsychedelicLemon Yeah that part was the song 'Not to Touch the Earth" on Waiting For The Sun. It's the only part of this song included on that album. :)
this song is hard to find, and it is so great, pure morrison, i remember when this album came out, and went to garbage status, and then you could not find it anymore. This music has been hard to find for a while
@ronaldmcdonald333 On this version of Celebration of The Lizard, The Palace of Exile (the last part of the song, after the "We Came Down" part) isn't in its entirety. If you want to hear all of that last part, search for it. Really short, but great.
@ronaldmcdonald333 Thats exactly what i do, i close my eye when jim asks to, and i start imagining the stuff he is talking about, its fucking amazing, like a trip, unfortunately, not everybody that listen to this song, gets it... its sad. but its a great song for sure, i used my fisrt joint listening to this song
sounds like a studio rehersal take definitely not a "serious" attempt at "putting it down" i think the piece was in its infancy when this take was done and it evolved from this .....to the masterpiece it eventually became
@restrada90 the live version was the only version i had ever heard until now. this is better. it puts it in context. its fucking great. i'm not a big fan of polish and production. so this experimental raw stuff just does it for me. i'm 43 and i wasn't always a doors fan. i have been for 20 years. i revisit once in a while and i always find something amazing. i've said and i still say the doors were the first punk group. its not rockabilly based but its still punk. honest. flawed. real.
Shame it never got its studio treatment the other Doors fucked Jim Over.... this would have cememted his legacy as a true poet if this record was released
@iggypoprhcp Dude you don't know shit about the doors then you lame..i bet you liek all the songs like light my fire,,and love me two times huh you lameass?
@iggypoprhcp I actually agree with you the live version is really good ive see nthe one a thte hollywood bowl..and woow its crazy jim sounds liek hes possesed especial the part where he says "i slid my cheek..." that part
@restrada90 It is John Lennon transforming from his humanoid form to his form of the Walrus. Of course, after making such a transformation, John was prone to utter a loud, walrus-like noise. Such is what you hear.
Beautiful avante garde . They loved the blues - but certainly were not restricted by blues , jazz or any kind of genre . . . . They were THE DOORS - and they opened the doors to the infinite !
what needs to happen is a released version of all their best unreleased stuff in any event i like how "Waiting for the sun" came out. if only they had released the entire thing, with this included...
If anybody ever gets the chance listen to this song live on the box set. It's a little bit shorter than this studio version but just as good. It sucks it never actually got on one of their albums, it was a killer song! So intense and random, a lot like Tool is today.
So morbid, so mature. This song empties and fills my soul with an uncertainty ironic and comforting.

"Waiting for the Sun" would have had a daring reputation and better reception if this had been released as an album side.

he wanted to go home but couldn't or wouldn't. that's what i think done him in,
'tomorrow, we enter the town of my birth
i want to be ready.'
w/ exeptions, i don't think you can go back. history's history.

Dead president's corpse in the driver's car
The engine runs on glue and tar
Come on along, not going very far
To the east to meet the Cza
Definitely the best part of the song
