  • The transeamus part brings me to tears everytime.

  • Please tell me if this is Robert Young

  • @Correctivemind yes this particular arrangement was composed by robert young.

  • I performed this with my choir too.. It's such a good song. I was a bass on this song :P

  • wasnt this written by Robert Young???? NICE SOUND and I LOVE THAT END CHORDS!! COMPOSER SLOW DOWN THE 2:24 FOR GAUDEAMUS. AND THE TRANSEAMUS

  • wasnt this written by Robert Young????

  • who wrote the music? I've been looking for the composer for so long...

  • I'm singing this in choir.

  • i once sang this in my high school choir, now two years ago. that was such a good year in choir, i would give anything to relive that year, my freshman year. there are so many memories for me in this song, so to hear another choir sing it makes me yearn to have bought a recording of my freshman year choir. i really do miss it so...

  • One of my favorite choral settings of this text.

Very mature sound for high school singers.

Would like to see the director play with tempo a bit more, maybe add some rubato.

    Bravi tutti!

  • You performed this very well. Sounds much like a college group (: We're performing this in about a month or so. Hopefully we can sound as fantastic or at least half as good as you guys (:

  • this chamber chior is so good. you'd think they were college singers instead of high school. :D

  • This is probably my favorite choral song ever. I just wish you guys didn't sing it so fast, but I guess that's the director's fault. It's so much more powerful and emotional when the harmonies are drawn out.

  • yes!, this song is wat i call it!

  • i like this song. so peaceful

just fix the minor issues these ppl told yall to fix. but it sounds great

  • This arrangement takes me back! SCVA Honor Choir did this, once upon a time. Its great to hear another choir perform this, and hear the awesome blend between all 25 different voice parts!..LOL...

All in all, it sounds like you have a tight choir with good direction..I would give anything to be back in a chamber ensemble.

    Good Show.

  • actually John Joubert did write this and he is my Grandfather. Unless there's two "There is No Rose of Such Virtue's"

  • there are way more than two arrangments of this song

  • this arrangement is by Robert H. Young

  • Comment removed

  • i think there's like 8 different versions joob?

  • Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much for posting this!! It's just what my heart needed to hear!!!!!

  • goes WAY sharp at just past the 3 min. mark. Sopranos pushed too hard

  • totally agree!!!

  • -women are breathy at first

-men said vir-chew instead of vir-tue

-your vowels in words such as "rose" are concise and gorgeous, but several ending vowels sounded lazy

    -good diction=]

    -great energy

-"leave we all this worldly mirth" was not completely in tune, but to an untrained ear, would sound fine

-the overall sound was pretty...but i could tell that the most of the choir didn't feel emotionally connected to the song...your sound wasn't unified

    -well done with volume changes.

  • I love this song! I performed it in high school with my choir. It's a beautiful arrangement! Well performed!

  • John Joubert composed this song. I might be related to him cuz my last name's Joubert!!!

  • actually robert h. young composed the song. he is a faculty member biola university and composed it specifically for the biola chamber singers.

  • fine!

  • Good use of dynamics... Cadences are together. It really is a beautiful song, especially the last stanza. I could listen to this all day.

  • Very impressive. Our choir is going to try performing this song again this year

  • dude we so did this song and it brought people to tears!

  • Absolutely Fabulous!
