i was a kid when this first aired... it only seemed naturally that muppet babies came before the muppet show ( i know better now) but found it odd how skeeter just disappeared

For all continuities sake, even though The Muppet Show came before Muppet Babiess & that Piggy's dream sequence from "Muppets Take Manhattan" inspired the series, the Muppet Babies were officially made canon in "A Muppet Family Christmas" when the entire Muppet gang (from Sesame Street, The Muppet Show/Muppet Babies, and Fraggle Rock) saw--via home movies--the first Christmas the cast of The Muppet Show/Muppet Babies spent together...as babies.
