The late 50's to 60's was a massive growth period here, also with bands taking a blues-rock take on it....Rolling stones and Eric Clapton are prime examples.

In fact nearly all Rock, no even popular music, it heavily routed in blues, the twelve-bar blues chord progressions being the most common using minor 3rd to major 3rd chords in just about every song out there. CONT....
