Iam a ugandan but i like Kenya as it carried a regacy of development in the 80s as we faced underdevelopment with several dictators in uganda and a day i would travel to Nairobi i was seeing Nairobi like london with those black cabs similar to these one here in london, by the way are they still there as you had to pay mia moja for any distance in Nairobi.I love Kenya.......Mombasa is great ''kuyingia ni lahisi ku toka ni matanga''!.
This music brings the recent past of East-Africa (kenya, Uganda and tanzania) in the front rooms of our homes today! Thanks alot how so ever uploaded music by our Giants of the past!
Thank you. The one I mean came out in 1977 i have it in cassette I will try to post it. it is also very nice. I dont think there will be a chance to see it on video.
Bwanakiino, thanks a million for a job well done. Men, some of us been looking for this music everywhere for so many years. Hopefully, you and i get to share a cold one on my next visit to nairobi---los angeles!
Request: Can you pse post SHIDA by the same group(super Mazembe). ...pse! This song was recorded with les Knoirs"s(now Virunga"s)Samba Mapangala on board. I love the combination of the voices
Bwanakeino, you did a good job on these guys. I wasn't aware they disbanded in 1985. Their songs are still as fresh as they were when I first listened to the in the 80s. Would you post Samba part 2?
Bwana Keino shukran kwa burudani hili, I remeber chagua lako the programme by Bwana Right Eddy Fondo, could anyone know where Eddy went to? If you can find Nabimake te, Katele, Lovy and Mayopa by the same guys I would be grateful, pongezi.
Primary guitar and ambiance. Gentle and lilting, holding more strength ultimately, for with the breezes one must bend as do the branches and grasses that feed us and make our lives so beautiful to see!
Really good vocals and excellent audio.Reminds one of the good old days when musicians did not rush but took time to produce what withstands the test of time.
Bwnakeino wud you mind to post a song entitled MILANDU by these guys it was more of a national anthem in southern africa in the 70s.pliz Bwana try yo best.zimbabwean in diaspora
Is the writer here named Bashilange saying that Longwa Didos (mzee wa kazi) was her/his father?
If you legitimately claim so and can provide proof, I am sure you can seek some legal assistance in tracking down the money makers.
I met Longwa in Kakamega with his staff and I would hate to see his family members suffer while some poppers leech his hard-earned royalties. Please get in touch with some of the pro music industry activists oversease especially in the UK/USA.
somebody in KBC/VOK must (AT least) have a Video/recording of SUPER MAzembe - or the logombas kids know where we need to start from to conserve this great sound.
I think super mazembe--of those days-- because the enterprise still lives-- you can see them occasionally at SIMMERS next to 680 hotel in NBI-- I think they were the coolest band, stylish, great afros and flare trousers. . . first saw them at the NBI ASK show in 1976-- first time I ever saw a live band, loudest music and captivating beats I ever heard. I was hooked to live bands-- I was 10!
wish we could reverse the times. old skool music with a touch of dignity.what else can you ask for. keep posting and refresh us with old skool music. we luv it.
old skool. that was the time. real music for real people with dignity.Wish could reverse the time and go back to the times i was in high skool. freedom from colonialism and western influence. were florishing. keep on posting this type of music.
You Have To Read This! You Won't Belive this! make a wish - - - - - - - . . . . . now that you have your wish it will happen! in exactly 4 days.just copy this and paste it to 4 videos!! only one wish use it wisely and it WILL HAPPEN!!! but if you break your chain wish your wish will be the opposite
When we talk about good music, entertaining, refreshing then this the music kind to listen to.sweet memories with a pilsner baridi mdogo mdogo what else could you ask for. vive la music.
yo i have this on cd this is a really sweet cd especially tracks one, two (samba), 3(jiji), and then like track ten which is a song which they dedicated to mothers.
Yes, Bashilange etct this is music proper- Bana Mushosho! Reminds me of our sweet days in high school 1975-1980s. We used to dance their hit songs -from Southview to Kassongo, Na Bimaka and of course Samba! Who could beat these leading Lingala singers with lead guitarists, bassists, solo vocalits and drummers like "Bukassa" Bukalos, Kassongo wa Kanema, Kassongo Rappok, Dodo Dorrise, Atia Djo,....Any idea where one can purchase the CD? This music is very nostalgic...it has very fond memories.
This was my father's band. I was realy young back then. I fondly recall the few rehearsals i used to attend as a litle boy in Eastleigh and juja road. Wonder who is making money of these songs now? since my dad never signed any contracts, and opted to tour instead.
I was young back then, but this was my fathers band. Recalling the practices in Estleigh and lodgings in Juja road brings back plenty of memories. Very nostalgic. I recall all these guys, most of whom have passed on. Wonder who is making money of the CD?, since my dad never signed any contracts with record companies and opted instead to tour east africa.
Oh man, even here in the US I have friends puzzled at the artistry in this track-right voices synchronized by crying solo guitar as executed by BUKALOS. On bass I think is Atia Djo then drums by Dododorise. Eeeh..wakati wao at KKGA Show. Could any one tell me who amongst them is still alive.
Thanks bwanakeino for posting. My dad (RIP) used to dance to this song when I was a small boy. I now understand what enjoyment this brought to him.
