I believe that sooner or later Syria will understand that their ridiculous claim on the Golan does not hold anymore... It is part of Israel for 44 years now, and was part of Syria for only 20 years.

I also want peace, but not support giving lands for that. When Germany lost in ww2 and had to give back lands were part of Germany for hundreds of years - did Germany EVER asked them back? of course not... same thing with Syria... it was agressive, and has to pay for its actions now...

The Syrians abandoned the Druze of the Golan Hts in 1967. Rafeek Hillow, a Syrian Druze army general was left with his battalion to ward off the Israeli enemy while the Syrian govt had already surrendered. The Syrians never have cared about the Golan, as long as they had Lebanon. The Druze on the other are hard core Arab nationalists and have always fought for the cause of the Arabs. For anyone who disagrees, simply read some history (please, really read).
