You have obviously never played with or seen a brass band where there are 9 Bb cornets, 1 Eb cornet, 2 baritones, 2 euphoniums, 3 tenor or alto Horns, 1 flugel horn (called bugle in this film, 2 tenor trombones, 1 bass trombone, 2 Eb Tubas, 2 BBb Tubas.
I'm quite jealous of that Mahillon Piccolo Trumpet. It looks beautiful and really is much more like a Piccolo Flugelhorn than Trumpet. They should make some Piccolos today with that very conical bell.

No, it was an alto horn (sometimes called a tenor horn), pitched in Eb, commonly used in brass bands.
