Okay, "AI zombie" check, "Gun Blazing" check, "Plenty of Ammo" check, "One hit melee weapon" check. Yup this is about to be another "water-down" Left4Dead. Look I'm all for the idea of "smart AI" but the rest of the other "features" just got to go. ZPS was fun back in the days because ammo were scarce, melee was weak, and hording penalize you. These were wat made the game unique because for the first time, players had to rely greatly in group to achieve survival. Now it just GUNNING AND BLAZING

Its 1 of the best zombie games i've ever seen man! only the graphics must be a bit higher..

Not too high like Battlefield 3 ( i would wish if you people could do that ) but just a bit more graphic details.. Like at part 3:33 the buildings are low with details.. ad some more graphic details to it.

@JMChopperGunnerNL This is the alpha build and we haven't even touched the Polish phase so expect an updated Engine, effects, and improved quality overall while still being a game most PCs can run and keeping it quite affordable. We will definitely be seeking to release to the masses on PC and looking into multiple platforms after release.

@JMChopperGunnerNL There have been a couple of updates to the Source engine since 2007 but not available to the public. They've also confirmed work on updated Tools and further updates to the Engine always targeting the largest audience with their Engine specs. It's no Crysis but definitely give "Dear Esther" a look (the latest commercial version of the game).

I'm just sick of the idea of spawning in a random house with random idiots and being forced to "cade" and blow zombies brains out for X amount of time. I just play zombie so nobody ever wins. Also nobody plays ZPA anymore, I mean I'm sure some servers still have it around, but I recall everyone begging for RTV anytime a server got to one. Soo..

@Dahlheim Well the co-op looks a bit similar, And its objective based maps look a bit similar, And it also showed that you can play as the zombie side alike, And the weapons are also similar. We can hope though that it has more survival elements when its released.

@Dahlheim So you're saying L4D is just ZPS with added AI zombies? L4D was intended to be a pick up and play arcade like shooter inspired by CS/CS:S's success (as stated by Valve representatives) while Contagion focuses more on Survival and completing objectives with a more robust and unpredictable spawning system from zombies, players, weapons, ammo, items, and more. One level will rarely ever play through the same way twice and winning like in ZPS will require a lot more effort. Wait and see.

so is this game somewhat like zps just more with a story and four humans? will all zombies be players (with some bots untill those bots are taken by human players.) or will the game have more a left 4 dead feel only what im guessing is instead of dying you turn infected.

@xXSPARTAN8Xx You're looking at Contagion's Multi-player so the story is limited to objectives, bits and pieces, and your imagination. It will resemble ZPS in that once you perish as survivor you will come back as a Zombie but unlike ZPS you will be joined by Hundreds of AI zombies. We've spent a considerable amount of time balancing this out so the experience is enjoyable for both Survivor and Zombie players. It may resemble ZPS or L4D but is far different and not simply a combination.

@TeHF0rc3 More than the 4 we showed. We've tested with over 12 with no lag/fps issues but have not announced the player cap yet as we're still pushing the game to it's limits and focusing on balance now that we are able to finally hit the polish phase.

Will ammo continue to be a factor in survivability as it was in zombie panic source? What I mean is that sometimes it looks as if your character has enough bullets to level a city block, but in zps ammo was much more scarce. Thank you for answering.

@david7035 Right, we tossed in more to test out a new feature. It will definitely play a role as we're focusing on survival over gorefest (not to say there won't be any gore :))

@coolbranxx The grapple feature is a special attack which can be performed from any position so long as you are close enough and the ability is available (may go into that in more detail later) while regular clawing is your basic primary attack. We love playing as zombie so I wouldn't be surprised if more footage regarding zombie game-play was uploaded in the near future.

i am absolutely loving this. real smart way to deal with the objectives via cell phone, adds more of a sense of realism. another thing that grabbed my attention was some of the objective items were actually useable as opposed to imaginatively sitting in your inventory. real cool. my only gripe is the fact that there is still players freely clipping into each other. i know that this could probably changed via server options but it just pained me seeing the inside of another player in zps.

@mastercilona Thank you and yeah we love the cellphone and objective items as well. As for the clipping you can see some of the work done to prevent this with something similar to TF2's push. This has been/is being worked on as well so I hope that helps remedy that concern somewhat.

@FFSMage Well you may struggle a bit (as intended) but the objective list which is available on your cellphone will help. We left completed objectives in (grayed out but still easy to read) for those who weren't present and want a clue as to what was just done or what led up to your current objective. As for the video, we may share more in regards to this map but I think there will be plenty of community members who will do exactly as you suggest :D
