My daughter was born premature at 28 weeks.. She stayed in NICU for 42 days. Was born weighing 1500 grams. Now she's 13 a healthy beautiful teenager, and I thank everyone at NICU in Women's College Hospital in Toronto, Canada:)

My sister was premature and she had a hole In her heart when she was born. I am glad I still have a sister. I was born at 27 weeks gestation in the 80's. The doctors told my parents horrible things to expect with me, but I lived and thrived. I often wonder why I survived when so many other premie babies do not. My heart goes out to all premie babies and their parents.
My son was born at 28 weeks gestation he was 4lb 6oz but due to having lungs that weren't formed his weight dropped to 2lb 2oz in 2 weeks he faught hard and i watched him cared for by the wonderful nurses and doctors of the nicu unit i didn't hold him till he was 13 weeks old there were many ups and downs with him but im happy to say he's a strapping 26 year old man now with a daughter of his own hes my sunshine on a rainy day and im thankful to god theres always hope xxx
Awww this video is so beautiful! Me and my twin were premature babies. We are 19 in our 3rd semester of college now. :) I want to give back by joining the march of dimes. One day I will participate in runs and help fundraising. It is a blessing we are here and were able to receive help from doctors and the march of dimes fund.
This was beautiful :) my first daughter was born at 17 weeks after my waters broke from cervical incompetence she died at birth .. My 2nd daughter was born at 25 weeks weighing 797 grams ( 1lb 11oz) my cervical stitch failed me and she was born .
The NICU was a rough ride one that I pray i will never have todo again ..

I am a twin aswell and reading comments about people saying that their sister or brother or someone they know or twin has died makes me so sad. Most children are born earlier because they mothers were using contraceptive pills before they decided to have children or kept to diets, but when I tell them that - they deny it because they don't want to feel guilty

I had two very healthy babies in the 80's and I had been on contraceptives for over 10 y ears prior. Your comment shows how ignorant you are and obviously have no clue what you are saying.
What do contraceptive pills have to do with early births? They're just human hormones. I've been to a medical school and I have never heard of any valid study showing any connection between the two. They sometimes even give them to women who are treated for infertility.

I was born 3 months to early. the doctors said I had 30% chance of living. I had to stay in the hospital for 3 and a half months. I had tupes and wires going into my head into my brain,down my throut,into my neck.Breathing tubes. I was born on 1983, only 27 weeks. Though I was a huge baby (1,6ft and 8,7lb, normal baby size!) due my mom's condition (diabetes), I couldn't breath or eat alone. I've been on incubator for more than 2 months and my parents told it was heartbreaking seeing me there with all those wires and tubes.
But I'm here, alive and healthy, I've already been mom myself and I want to say "Thank you!" to all those that believed it was possible to save and fight for a 27 weeks preemie almost 30 years ago :)

My twins were premature and o see the doctor use little paddles on my daughter to bring her to life was the hardest thing ever. I was in labor for 2 weeks. They struggled for the first year of life but they are 12 years old today and healthy. I thank god for my miracle babies. This video made me cry but was very nice.

This video really hits home for me because back in december of 1992 I was born 5 months early. the doctors didn't think I was going to make it and if i did make it they didnt think i was going to be able to walk,talk, or do nothing like a child would be able to do. Now i'm almost 19 i'm a senior in high school and i've proven all the doctors wrong.
My niece was 8 weeks premature and was on tubes and stuff. and now 7 years later she is the most beautiful precious smart child we dont know what we would have done if it wasnt for the doctors. We love our little Niece. and then 3 years ago my other niece was born but was told she was a premature baby also cause she was soon 6 lbs. She is the also beautiful and precious and they both are a joy to be around.
My oldest was born at 27 weeks. He had to be on the vent for 2 months, and had 2 grade 4 brain bleeds. He was blind but with surgery they were able to attatch his retnas! he can see now! he had seizures starting at 1 week old, one lasting 4 hours! He was in th NICU for 120 days. He is now 7 and just had his 9th surgery on monday. He has cp from the brain damage that the brain bleed caused. We seemed to have got all the bad parts of premature birth. well other than losing him.

He needed a blood transfusion first, then a nurse told me he had a level 3 brain hemmorage on the left side of his braid.When I thought things couldn't get worse another one on the right.

I was three months premature, my mom said i couldnt breath so they had to give me steriods to get my lungs to open and i had to use a big respirator the first three years of my life but im still going strong to this day

I have twin children who were born premature. They are both happy and healthy now, however that is only by the grace of god and the skilled doctors, nurses and aides who took such excellent care of us befor and after there births. I am a twin aswell and reading comments about people saying that their sister or brother or someone they know or twin has died makes me so sad. What do contraceptive pills have to do with early births? They're just human hormones. I've been to a medical school and I have never heard of any valid study showing any connection between the two. They sometimes even give them to women who are treated for infertility.

I had tupes and wires going into my head into my brain,down my throut,into my neck.Breathing tubes. My mum went into labour with me at 27 weeks I thank all the doctors who stopped the labour as I wouldn't of been here today, I was still born premature at 37 weeks. But I was healthy and that's the main thing :)

My twin sister and I were born premature my sis was fine I had to stay in the hospital and be put on that breathing thing because i had respiratory problems. My mom told me they didnt think i'd make it..but I did!...I actually can vaguely remember being in a incubator... Im doing great now and my lungs are too and Im greatful to be alive. I was born on 1983, only 27 weeks. Though I was a huge baby (1,6ft and 8,7lb, normal baby size!) due my mom's condition (diabetes), I couldn't breath or eat alone. I've been on incubator for more than 2 months and my parents told it was heartbreaking seeing me there with all those wires and tubes.
But I'm here, alive and healthy, I've already been mom myself and I want to say "Thank you!" to all those that believed it was possible to save and fight for a 27 weeks preemie almost 30 years ago :)

yeeah. this is horriblee. i was born a few months premature, ma said she could hold me in the palm of her hand. they said i was born with only white eyes no color or dialation at all.. i was posed to be blind, deaf, unable to walk, etc. my lungs havent even developed yet. they told her to abort me but she didnt. she held me to her chest & i gained weight & strrength.. & here i am today, perfectly fine & an advanced students. doctors are effing murderers. premature birth always has me in tears.

My twins were premature and o see the doctor use little paddles on my daughter to bring her to life was the hardest thing ever. I was in labor for 2 weeks. They struggled for the first year of life but they are 12 years old today and healthy. I thank god for my miracle babies. This video made me cry but was very nice.

This video really hits home for me because back in december of 1992 I was born 5 months early. the doctors didn't think I was going to make it and if i did make it they didnt think i was going to be able to walk,talk, or do nothing like a child would be able to do. Now i'm almost 19 i'm a senior in high school and i've proven all the doctors wrong.

My oldest was born at 27 weeks. He had to be on the vent for 2 months, and had 2 grade 4 brain bleeds. He was blind but with surgery they were able to attatch his retnas! he can see now! he had seizures starting at 1 week old, one lasting 4 hours! He was in th NICU for 120 days. He is now 7 and just had his 9th surgery on monday. He has cp from the brain damage that the brain bleed caused. We seemed to have got all the bad parts of premature birth. well other than losing him.

They are both happy and healthy now, however that is only by the grace of god and the skilled doctors, nurses and aides who took such excellent care of us befor and after there births. I will be forever thankful to them. Premature birth is a very big problem in todays day and age. hell, i wuz born at 25 months and i weighed 2 pounds and 1 ounce. im 13 and im doing gymnastics, survived brain sugery and others. i may have been premature, but im alive and the most unexpected happens, it can be hard to remember how important life is, so the next time somebody does or says something nice to u, recieve and respect it, cause yesterday is history, 2morrow is a mystery but todays a gift, thts y its called the present. :)
