Capacative forces can press against the surfaces of plates and coils.my metal detector coil emits a frequency in the audio range and i have heard sound coming off tesla coil top loads which are behaving in a capacitive way.i suspect that is what you are witnessing here

Sure. I've made other coils like the Rodin coil and gotten audio tones from it. The only things I find unusual are the harmonics, and that the sound appears to come from the center. I can't visualize what is occurring with the magnetic fields, be I can hear their influence on the coil.
