What makes you think they're not gay? This movie was "different". Almost all the dialogue went this way--stilted, strange prose. I believe Mick Jagger was in it. The tall guy beat his friend to death in order not to be killed by the Nazis. I hated him for that. I consider this movie a "tragedy" style story. Not much into that. Interesting view of the gay underground back then, however.
