I love lyrebirds. I had the rare privilege of seeing one scratching amongst some leaves in the wild in NSW once. It was just incredible... just beautiful. It wasn't even aware of our presence. Unforgettable...
Lyre Birds are my favorite kind of bird. Because for there mimic call, they can sing the funniest sounds. Like say one was in a zoo, it might mimic a lion,or an eliphant, or a child laphing, or mabey music. Or if it was in the wild it could mimic a monkey or something, they can mimic cellphones, chainsaws, ringtones, anything. Thats why there soooooooooo cool!
The Superb Lyre bird is regarded as moderately common, not rare. They are protected, so you can't buy or catch one! I have seen them quite a few times in the wild, in Victoria, the ACT and New South Wales. A few times they have been displaying. They are shy, and like undergrowth, so they can be hard to see. You will hear them frequently if you are in their habitat. When you think a whole lot of different birds are singing in the one place it is probably one lyre bird!
i'd joke about having it as a pet too. See if it can play back other random stuff like dogs barking or something. XD But seriously, not really, those kind of creatures are meant to be kept in nature. Observing from afar will have to do. :B

Hi, I have no idea. They are rare birds, and are found only in Australia. A few are kept in the Melbourne Sanctuary.

Not if they're bred in captivity, there are some species which no longer exist in the wild due to domestication etc.

@grazatt Most likely, you won't be able to- only be "Exotic" animals are not allowed as... pets. You can always google it. ;)
