Well, I dont think they really cared who they shot. Imagine being in that situation... you see a soldier in a different uniform than you, and you shoot. I don't think anyone can think that clearly in that situation. Also, I agree that it is terrible to shoot a medic, but medics a lot of times also picked up weapons. I read about one guy that was a corpsman, but he picked up a M1 Garand anyway, because he knew they were going to shoot him eitherway.
The Nazi's were one of the greatest world powers in my oppinion. The tactics they used in war is the reason they bassically kicked everyones ass. If it werent for the American army Nazi's probly would have won WWII. Hitler was a great and insperational leader, thus giving the Nazi's great power.
You make it seem like America was the only country who fought properly for peace. A lot of countries were involved, thus why it is called a world war. People lost their lives for peace and yet you say America won it for us - that's like walking over the graves of servicemen from Britain, France, Australia, Canada, Greece and many more. People fought just as hard as the American's did, and personally I think the American's did a good job, but the allied forces - as a whole- fought
America did supply us with money and troops to, Russia also helped us by fighting off the Germans to the West. But others fought too, we lost people too. So no ONE country, no matter how fine their performance - and Band of Brother's portrays an immense performance by the American's - won it.
1, The reason this shows great performance by Americans is because this is a American movie. And also, your reason is why the Allies won the war, The Germans on the other hand didn't let Italy or Japan help equaly with the war.

sorry to burst ur bubble but u do know taht it was pretty much Russia (mainly it climate and courage of their troops) that won WWII and beat the germans. im a full american but i follow the facts not my opinion. germans attacked russia with 3-4 million troops and beat the russians over and over but they werent suited for the cold climate. after a few months half of them had frozen to death or died from lack of food. the russians then beat them back all the way to berlin.
That's true but if it weren't for D-day than the Russians would have had to attack fortress Europe by themselves. It was a mixture of all the Allies that beat the Germans. America also almost singlehandedly beat Japan which was the other big Axis army. The British stopped the German advance in Europe during the battle of Britain. All of this supports the fact that every ally helped in the defeat of the Axis armies.

Your'e acctualy very, very wrong on the medic part. The reason a medic doesn't have a weapon, is that as soon as someone is unarmed, the person become a civilian. If u shoot a civilian on perpouse your up against a court marshall.
Ok, i'm sry, i don't know how it is nowdays but, during world war 2 and Vietnam the medics weren't armed. They had basic training as everybody else but they weren't armed, And as far as i know non of the scandinavian countries uses armed medics.
Very possible, but from what I know to be true, medics were not issued weapons during world war 2, mostly because a medics job is not to kill it is to stay just behind the assault and help those who have fallen. Also, during world war 2 medics weren't supposed to be targets.
If you've ever seen a ww2 movie where they say "They are even killing medics!" Its because medics weren't supposed to be fired upon.

no they werent they wanted medics, sanititots, corpmen. to be non combatent which is being un armed, sani's didnt carrey fire arms but they were allowed to buy one for them selves like p08 and p38's or any german pistol, same with corpman but then they were issued, but none were given smg's, rifles unless they picked one up in the heat of battle.

poor Medic, feel bad for those guys. They had one of the toughest jobs in the war and they were paided less than regular NCOs.
This is a good mix, shows frenchy(can't remember his name) hopelessly doing his best to help his brothers' in arms. A lot of psycological damage here (he speaks about a soldier being paralyzed in this episode, but that statement really reflects his own internal strife!)

Well, I dont think they really cared who they shot. Imagine being in that situation... you see a soldier in a different uniform than you, and you shoot. I don't think anyone can think that clearly in that situation. Also, I agree that it is terrible to shoot a medic, but medics a lot of times also picked up weapons. I read about one guy that was a corpsman, but he picked up a M1 Garand anyway, because he knew they were going to shoot him eitherway.

ok u guys got it alllll wrong. listen, Russia was supposed to be allies with germany but germany got cocky and tried to take over russia. Then The british helped us in the pacific and the North African theater, and Italian Theater, D-day threw the german army off alot,and without victory at d-day, we prolly would have never won. Without The atom bomb, we would have to go to the mainland of japan, witch would end with tons tdead anyway, but with less military casualties to the allies.

sorry to burst ur bubble but u do know taht it was pretty much Russia (mainly it climate and courage of their troops) that won WWII and beat the germans. im a full american but i follow the facts not my opinion. germans attacked russia with 3-4 million troops and beat the russians over and over but they werent suited for the cold climate. after a few months half of them had frozen to death or died from lack of food. the russians then beat them back all the way to berlin.

That's true but if it weren't for D-day than the Russians would have had to attack fortress Europe by themselves. It was a mixture of all the Allies that beat the Germans. America also almost singlehandedly beat Japan which was the other big Axis army. The British stopped the German advance in Europe during the battle of Britain. All of this supports the fact that every ally helped in the defeat of the Axis armies.

You shoot a medic, that means he can't make other soldiers better, other soldiers who then shoot at you...
and what we must also remember is that medics were also trained combat soldiers.
So they fought, and shot people as well, so they're legitimate combat targets first and foremost.
Combat Medics are also different from civvie medical staff who are covered by the geneva convention
Combat Medics aren't.
Thus they are targets.

Ok, i'm sry, i don't know how it is nowdays but, during world war 2 and Vietnam the medics weren't armed. They had basic training as everybody else but they weren't armed, And as far as i know non of the scandinavian countries uses armed medics.

Very possible, but from what I know to be true, medics were not issued weapons during world war 2, mostly because a medics job is not to kill it is to stay just behind the assault and help those who have fallen. Also, during world war 2 medics weren't supposed to be targets.
If you've ever seen a ww2 movie where they say "They are even killing medics!" Its because medics weren't supposed to be fired upon.
