@KyIernuva135Clone If you have luck they'll assign you that specific IP again from the 65025 IP's pool. Assuming they change the last 2 numbers: xxx.xxx.255.255.

Nope didnt change ip..

This is what happened to me:

for example my ip with modem and router is: 333.333.333.333

then when i remove the router and just keep the modem my ip is 555.555.555.555

Then when i change ip itll be 444.444.444.444 when i plug-in router then ip is 333.333.333.333 please help!!!@!@!@!@!@!@

@adidasnikepro & @popularguy3 If your ISP assigned you a static IP address it won't change, also if you are behind a router it won't change in some cases, even if your IP is dynamic, always connect directly to the modem before attempting to change it.

Do you still have the internet connection afterwards? and can you still go on the internet and go to sites and all that? cause like... I got IP banned from a server and i am trying to change it to get back into the server but i don't wanna screw up my entire computers internet so that no one can no longer use the internet. But i wanna get back into the server so... Any help?

@popularguy3 You'll still have access to the internet after the IP address changes, but in case you manage to get one of the steps wrong you'll end up without an IP, in that case rebooting would be the safest choice or just using Window's networking wizard to reset your normal connection.

It's one of the easiest things to do, and that shouldn't happen, just follow the instructions, if your IP is static, then no problem, it won't change and everything will function as normal.

@anjanaqa Well, the max I have changed mine was 10 times in a row until it finally changed. But it shouldn't be like that, turning off the modem for a couple of minutes after /releasing the IP should work, obviously all of this if you have dynamic IP, if you don't, you can't do much other than telling your ISP to change it. Also in my experience it won't change if you're behind a router, so if you are, you might wanna connect directly to the modem and try again.

@anjanaqa Either that or your IP lease hasn't expired, sometimes you need to do it several times until it changes (dynamic IP obviously), so the dhcp server "forgets" that that IP is binded to your modem or assign it to someone else. Restarting the modem might help after you assign the temporal static IP, then proceeding with the next steps.

Learn to read and use a keyboard, clearly it's:

ipconfig /release

Copy and paste it, if it's too hard to type that.
