He didn't "blow the lead", he shut the door on Hornish in Turn 3 on lap 199. Hornish used the entire ensuing lap to set him up in the only possible place he could pass him. 1 and 2 came too fast and 3 and 4 are hard to pass on. MA may have been playing it safe, but he wasn't backpedaling. Hornish simply out drove him on the final lap -- making up all that ground AND making a hell of a pass. History.
