What he says about curriculum may be a great idea, but he is running for an office that has no constitutional role in designing curriculum. If he really believed that the federal government's proper role in education was merely as a cheerleader, why does he even bring up these issues? If he's truly a conservative, why doesn't he call for the abolishment of the Dep. of Education? I might be persuaded to vote for him for school board president, but not president of the U. S.

Huckabee is as big a fraud as Bill Clinton. His "holiday message" had more contorted facial expressions than Bill's. I just knew that he was going to bite his lip and tell us that he "feels our pain". He doesn't have any more convictions than any liberal. He's a "flip flopper". Any "good ideas" that he spews, he's stolen from Ron Paul. He's a "holy" man who's for the neocon war. No different from the rest, except he can "use" the scripture with great skill.

Huckabee is a conservative populist which makes him VERY appealing to most Americans. He's great on the environment, education and terrorism.

I think Mike Huckabee has some great ideas. In addition to his conservative views on the war, immigration & border security, small government, lower fair taxes, his ideas on education, health care, etc are quite good. As a successful governor for many years he also has demonstrated excellent leadership and administrative qualities. Likewise he strikes me as a man of integrity and character two qualities that are all too frequently missing in politics these days.

Merit pay for teachers is a bad idea. Teachers will refrain from teaching the lower level kids for fear of not have the test results that higher level students will yield. You want teachers to volunteer to teach the struggling students without fear of having the pay diminished if they do so.

It's a shame this guy is overlooked by the likes of Gulliani, Romney, etc. He's so much more cogent, remarkable, and dynamic. He's interesting.

CNN shouldn't have this stranglehold on who's important or not, it's really bothersome.

I am really liking Huckabee. He's as smooth as Romney, but more warm and genuine. He's also a FairTax supporter, and that is a big plus.

Yes, he is an official candidate, I just think they are behind on getting the "professional" website up and running.

I really like his points about education. The arts need to be taught in schools. Without seeing your interview, I would never have been aware his views on this issue.
