  • HRDONA1. The shutter sound is probably the shutter releasing. 😏

  • no in-built EVF!! that's why i'm not gonna buy it..

  • @MrRedshops Really!? Just because it has no EVF!? Had one on my camera and never used it. The screen is much bigger and handier.

  • Hmmm....when "he" is raising the camera to his eye, what is he looking through? The imaginary viewfinder. Micro 4/3 is a great concept but so fall all the companies have screwed it up. My opinion, of course...a Canon APS sensor, Full Frame and micro 4/3 owner here.

  • Only those who "get it" should buy this camera, and others should "shut up" and go get another camera. I will upgrade my loved and trusted GF1, so the GX1 will be added to my compact camera collection that I started by buying my still much loved Rollei 35S film camera more than 30 ears ago. I like the commercial too, and I personally prefer the silver-bodied version of the camera.

  • fake commercial

  • Kind of funny to use a shutter sound on a mirror-less camera.

  • Why does this video look like it was shot in the 90s? Color, close-up angled compositions, poor editing between pans, fade to black transitions, fashion

  • flagged for wrong category, pathetic.

  • this remindes me of commercials back in the 90's...

    horrible commercial. wow

  • build a viewfinder please....

  • Nice camera for new MFT users. Good specs but not enough for me to upgrade my GF1. The 'weird looking' X lens blends well with the silver body (not for black body).

  • Price?

  • 看不了,无鸭梨

  • X100, X10, and now GX1, can't everyone be more innovative in naming?

  • Downgrading back to the GF-1.

Finally, a step in the right direction.

  • This is nothing special for GF1 users, GX1 should build in viewfinder. I just stay with GF1 .... so disappointed

  • ok camera. not so ok commercial. overpriced as hell

  • It looks great but HOLY CRAP WHAT'S WITH THE COMPRESSION IN THIS VIDEO???

  • It is certainly possible for me to be more underwhelmed, but not likely. A whole lot of 2-year-old technology for a premium price. Oh yeah. Gimme summa dat.

  • What is the significance of that thing that keeps flipping through the air and what is it? Gotta love the slow classical music. It's the kind of crap you hear on car commercials for expensive cars. What does it tell the viewer? This camera is gonna be exclusive/pricey. Guess it will be priced similar to the EP3. Oh well, at least it has a cooler kit lens.

  • @ar4216 The thing that flips through the air is an Euro coin; it is a symbol used to represent the fact that you're gonna have to give them a lot of those to get this camera.

  • Electric zoom? Definitely not for me. Hate them.

  • @dmanthree100 Thankfully, that's just the G X lenses -- regular G lenses are still by-hand barrel zoom.

  • thumbs up if you are one of the few persons that dont need an ugly EVF and love the gx1.

  • GF1 v1.1. Complete waste of time, I can't believe Panasonic even bothered to spend money developing this product.

  • It's the Pen's ugly cloned sister.

  • wow, this video in HD does zero justice to the quality the camera takes.

  • Come on guys, almost every post here is some kind of "X beats Y" post. It's not that important, seriously. Everyone's got their own working style, taste and budget. Some might want the most compact package even with a few fewer features. Or a different control layout.

This is pretty cool. There's two function button, ISO button and so on. At least you can change settings quickly.

  • NEX 7 beat this bitch!!!!

  • to be honest, I love lumix so much, but i am disappointed by this GX1

    look at 1:17,

feels like panasonic is telling you "oh yea, we don't have a viewfinder, fuck you"

Well, its a success upgrade model for GF2 or 3 but not a new product.

  • @airkid It's meant to be the true successor to the GF1, seeing as the GF2 and GF3 sort of missed the point..

  • I think a build-in tilty EVF is the next big thing.. Imagine it built-in like fujifim x100 viewfinder.. only now you can tilt it.. lol..

  • @chrisyeoh

You can just buy G3 or GH2

  • I just don't like they way they say "premium design" with all the classical music-y stuff while looking almost exactly like a GF1. If anything, "premium" should be used to describe the EP3, retro-style all metal body.

  • Not worth it over NEX-5N or NEX-7 (in future). If they wanted to compete, they should re-create Panasonic L1. Solid magnesium body, maybe slightly bigger than usual m4/3, with built in EVF (maybe tiltable), tilt-swivel LCD, good grip. And loaded with usefull features and most important, with good image quality.

  • LX5 successor with a 4/3 sensor! I hope the price range is around $599.

  • no EVF, no reason to buy!

  • oh man so the leaks are not fake :/

Panasonic really took GF2 body and glued some cheap looking grip & mode dial to it + fixed 460k screen...welcome to 2012!

now tell me there's no mic input and it'll be hard to say E-P3 goodbye... the G3 sensor & improved 1080p video is tempting though.

the weak commercial is telling it all... evolution, not revolution - but I'm still buying it ;) or wait, it's Christmas....haloooo

  • EP3 destroys everything about this.

  • @mamba109 In what way is the EP3 better? This has a newer sensor and a newer image processor. So image quality should be superior. We can't really compare until some reviews are out.

  • @mamba109 If the GX1 comes out at the usual $699 price there isn't any reason to buy the E-P3 for $900. unless IBIS is worth $200.

  • @mamba109 Yeah...most of all EP3s stellar sensor of three years ago...nd ep3s great kitlens. I guess for the group it is intended to this cam (badl) misses a built in EVF. Other than that it is wait and see what IQ it delivers. Just like G3 or better still?

  • the constant cutting is frggen annoying, the producer must has adhd

  • Great camera. Not so great commercial.

  • @lxstoian Agreed. If somebody would just have shown me this I'd place my bet on this being some kind of fan tribute to the brand rather than an ad.
