  • I'm a huge fan of both, IMO Mayer is a better artist overall. Mraz has better vocals/Mayer has better guitar skills. I think what separates them is that Mayer can play a wide range of music and Mraz is confined to a certain style...which is ok. In the end they are both sick. that is all.

  • Mayer can shred on the guitar. He blows Jason out of the water there. However, Jason Mraz's singing and the melodies to his songs blow Mayer out of the water. Mraz has a much happier sorta' vibe, while Mayer's music seems to come from a darker place. I like them both, but I couldn't listen to a whole Mayer album at once. His songs all sound the same, to me.

  • wat?mayer/mraz....no comparison.mraz is amazing.i've heard much better versions of this song.he's in his own league mayer can give up and go home now.

  • ummm how can people say Mraz is better than Mayer. Mraz seems to spam the same chord changes/intervals in his songs. Mayer has so many more techniques and approaches down, and plus he's a solid bluesman. Just look up John Mayer Trio.

  • INSPIRING song...go JASON.!!!

    keep spreading the love...

  • trommer swinger ikke en meter

  • both are quality musicians and thats why people who like Mraz like Mayer and vice versa

  • This quality of sound without mics. Not going as far as to say that the audio equipment on the cameras were fantastic, the boy is nothing short of a lyrical virtuoso.

I mean forget I'm Yours, decent song, but it annoys me that people are overlooking his true ability. At least I'm assured that when the other pop fillers we see today fade, Mraz will still be shining on.

  • i heard hes going to release an all acoustic album, i dunno when but i wanna get it, i love his acoustic stuff, especially the EBS Korea performances

  • mayer and mraz should do a collaboration, i'm sure it'll be good

  • minus the mayer part, yeah...

  • @jpschersch I agree. A Mayer and Mraz collaboration, minus Mayer, would suit me just fine :)

  • woahhh. so weird to see how far he's come... but he still has the same lovable personality <3

  • mraz is awesome man mayer is different prefer mraz tho =) he is just my inspiration

  • i've got the poison and he's my remedy .. <3

  • lol whatz with the chair?? :) he's so funny.

  • It's possible that the back audience may have said that they could hardly hear him .. as he gets a bit tired and the front audience, tables, etc, blocks sounds that would normally carry without a packed house. Or it could be that his feet are just tired and the chair provides a much needed cushion .. I'm assuming with all these songs and some entertainment adlibs in between that the show was more than 2 hrs long.

  • never liked mayer...til i saw him play with Double Trouble... He has been around a bit longer than mraz

  • I hate the Mayer/Mraz argument. Neither is better no worse, also they are so different I reckon! I'm a massive fan of both. Mraz lyrics are better, Mayers guitars/melody are better, but ultimately their songs are both of equal awesomeness.

  • Sorry Have to disagree. Mayer is more proficient on the guitar but so what!! Mraz's melodies kick ass. That's what he is all about. and his voice trumps everything Mayer has to offer. Add in the fact Mayer is a d@ick. Then Mraz edges it for me

  • Amen. :)

  • but i dont think Jonh Mayer melody is better ... i still think that is Jason Mraz ... i like John Mayer ... hes good but i LOVE Jason Mraz yep im sure ...

  • @chocolatevixen, thank you! Im with you all the way.

  • the mood and his voice and him himself , i just , i love jason so much. he can turn my day around.

  • lol why is he on the chair o-o

    anyhow, jason rocks!

  • Jason Mraz is a god.

most deffffff. I absolutely love him.

  • i love the rawness when he sings live. his cd versions sound so pop and don't do justice to his voice. definetly one of my favorite artists.

  • i agree

  • his live renditions are way better than the studio version!

  • When it comes to guitar, you cant even compare mayer and mraz. Mayer is on a whole different level than jason mraz

  • i agree with you.

i still love both, though. :)

  • Mayer isn't even on the same playing field let alone the level to Mraz.

  • I think vocally, Mraz is much better. But guitar-wise, if you listen to Mayer's music that isn't on the radio (his jazz and blues recordings) you'll see his guitar technique is almost God-tier. Just search "john mayer blues solo" on YouTube to get a listen.

  • i agree, but i also think mraz stresses his vocal talents more, and mayer stresses his guitar talents more.

  • It's a moot argument. We shouldn't assume that Jason cannot play the guitar as well as John Mayer just because he does not focus on solos or more complicated combinations with the guitar. Also, depending on your life or the phases of your life, each of their lyrics could touch different audience and some may have common experiences that makes them a fan of both. However, Jason's vocal performances have elevated him from other singers as each performance is different yet still fantastic.

  • yea, you're right.. its not just about guitar solos/riffs..

  • It's not a moot argument sorry, John Mayer is a phenomenal guitar player. And unfortunately we should assume mayer is a better guitar player because he is ridic. And mraz is only competent.

  • @69erstud As far as I'm concerned Mayer has Mraz owned on guitar and Mraz has Mayer owned vocally. They both have their good points. Prefer Mraz's lyrics too, much more clever and a lot less "get in my bed", and this is coming from a John Mayer fan :P

  • I don't agree with you saying there are many more better artists than Jason Mraz.

He's unique vocally speaking, I don't think he should be compared to others.

Just like John Mayer is unique being able to play awesome acoustic guitar and pop while having Clapton-worthy bluesskills up his sleeve.

  • i love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

i love how he is singing on the chair and its slower

  • He is incredibly sexy! and a beyond talented individual. I wish he'd go back to this style

  • What a voice, if his label didn't "pop up" all his songs, he'd be the next Freddy Mercury

  • vocaly jason mraz is easily the best in music right now

  • both john mayer and jason mraz are really good...they're just different in style that's all. :)

  • Heck yes.

  • I agree mostly with Gipper.

John has amazing guitar chops, in which Jason lacks a little bit.

But Jason has unmatchable lyrical and improvisational skill.

Fame and personality have nothing to do with it.

  • i love how he always changes the song up! thanks!

  • ok first off he is not better than john mayer no matter how much he may or may not be a dick. Mayer IS almost as good as Stevie Ray Vaughn. Nothing against Mraz but there are alot of others much better!

  • Mayer can't hold a candle to this guy. Mayer's good, but he's a one-trick pony. Compare "Geek in the Pink" with "Sleeping to Dream" and tell me Mayer has anything close to that kind of almost effortless versatility.

  • Well, I own all of the albums that both guys have released (excluding singles), I'd say I have a good basis of comparison. John is not in the same league as Jason as far as pure musical diversity and ability...he's very good at what he does, but he can't do what Jason does. Maybe it's an "apples and oranges" thing, but I can see Jason pulling off "Why Georgia Why" with no problem, but can't see John doing "Curbside Prophet." That pretty much seals it for me.

  • Jason is great, John Mayer is great- i like Jason's soul -- they both deserved to be on rolling stone w/ john frusciante and derek trucks, imo

  • His voice makes me melt!

  • he's so mellow and awesome at the same time.. that's really cool.

  • He's on a freakin' chair! Is there anything he can't do?! Gotta love Mr. A-Z.

  • @mattysimps i love Mraz

  • better than jhon mayer

  • different style of music.... no comparison

  • I think he was kinda John Mayer when I watched those video that he was singing at Lestat

But now he found his style and I think Mayer is losing his style. Room for square is a fantastic album but Heavier Thing is way too commercial for me

  • john mayers a dick

  • hey take that back- john mayer rocks and so does jason...they can both rock!!! John is totally different to jason...cant compare

  • i agree, no comparing them. each artist has there OWN style. they just want to be them! not someone else
