People are barking about Wolverine's health but they forget the guy is made of the strongest metal and has super regen abilities in comics. If anything he should have a ton of health and do a ton of damage. Wolverine is crap without assists and he is terrible against projectile/keep away characters.

What horseshit. If you're going by what the character can do in the comics, then Dark Phoenix is underpowered. She should be able to mind-control the opponent's characters and turn them into slaves. Magneto will have an automatic win against Wolverine by tearing out the adamantium from his skeleton.

And Wolverine is not "crap against projectiles". Tron and Haggar are.

@derekmok Actually if we go by the comics, Phoenix is shit in the physical health department. Without her Phoenix Flames, she's just another average telepath. It's also the reason why no one can really get close to her. No one compares to Dark Phoenix especially with x-factor. Again barring magneto who of course should have the upper hand, Wolverine is goddamn tank. He can take all sorts of abuse as long as his head stay intact.

I dont know what kind of players youre playing against but keep away in general is not that good in this game, all it takes is one beserker slash/ dive kick and Wolverine is in and the opposing character is most likely dead.

How? He just does what every other player does, abuse the obvious and win matches. People shouldnt be complaining, this is what they wanted...a scrub-friendly game that allows ANYBODY to win. In MvC2, you actually needed SKILL to win because there is no xfactor to take so much damage from the opponent, it took learning to execute and beat your opponent by simply out-thinking them and taking advantage of oppurtunities. In MvC3, activate xfactor and all skill goes out the window

Yeah, you like that aspect of the game because you want to avoid actual fighting. I come from the MvC2 generation, where we fought to win not using xfactors to beat an opponent. It only shows that youre scared to lose and want to win the match really fast to avoid getting beat down. Mike Tyson, a few rounds but once you make him actually fight he doesnt have the stamina to last. Just like these scrubs in MvC3, no stamina trying for the early round knockouts....

But im ok with doing something new because the x factor is the least of your worries. I still say Phoenix is hella cheap and gay but shes on the game so..... all im saying is yea the x factor gives you an advantage but if somebody feels like they have to use that x factor to beat you. Then you should feel good about yourself.

Actually xfactor is the most concern, Phoenix is easy to kill its just people get intimidated and fold up. You see people running from her with 3 characters to their advantage. No MvC2 oldschool would do that, as you see with JWong and Combofiend. They go right at her and simply kill her off, even in Dark Phoenix mode. The speed of DP in MvC3 is not much faster than Magneto rushdown in MvC2 so its no problem.

I give them credit, but honestly she is too weak to intimidate any solid player. Any character with such low stamina should not be feared, simple as that. A lot of moves which are deadly, but because people have downloaded her moves and strats shes becoming more and more boring to watch and even to defeat. Its not even interesting to see her win as her moves are basically a barrage of shields to protect her from bodily harm. Shes okay though, not appealing to me...

@9revolta I understand where you're coming from. In the wrong hands Phoenix is basically garbage. I'm just forming my opinion off of what I've seen at tournaments. At evo (the biggest tournament of the year in america) Viscant (A phoenix player) won by using a strategy that revolves entirely around Phoenix. If the best players in the world can't beat his Phoenix then I'm guessing that she must be good. But that's all just my opinion.

I know there are some good Phoenix players such as Viscant, Clock etc. But there are a lot of counters to Phoenix. Ammy, Dorm, Storm and a few more. Its all about finding that one mixup to kill her off, you must be aware of your opponents gameplan as many arent. I actually like Jean as a player in MvC3, because it makes you fight with her and work on your defense. But once Phoenix is activate, many forget about their defense and one hit shes dead.

True if she gets hit she usually dies, but if she can kill in seconds (with x-factor) off of pure chip, plus she is incredibly fast, has cross-up teleports and her moves have a ton of priority. To you she may not be worth the five meters, but nearly every pro player agrees that Dark Phoenix is the best character in the game.

Phoenix is not the best character in the game. pro players may state she is one of the most dangerous characters in the game but by far she isnt the best. First off, her teleport has been downloaded and people are catching her quite frequently now. Second, to have a character who bogards all meter is more of a cancer more than a anchor. And third, Phoenix technically isnt a character Jean Grey is so her status is unbalanced.

Who didn't win ... Justin Wong, Chris G, ComboFiend, PRBrog .... 4 of the best technical players playing the game ... unfortunately for them they do use Phoenix in their teams so they lose to lesser skilled opponents in all these tournaments.

They lose the majors because of people that are slightly under them in skills use Phoenix who is basically a "random" variable in their matches against Phoenix users. But we will see how things play out in Ultimate. I expect to see Justin Wong, Combofiend, Chris G winning the majors now that Phoenix is nerfed.

Obviously giving her some kind of level 3 hyper where she turns into Dark Phoenix for a short while and beats him up (In some kind of way like Wolverine's Weapon X) or hell, just right away turn into her for something around 10 seconds, like a Devil Trigger (Though that would still be insulted if they give her more health)

What I meant is that she's not as good as she was back in MVC3, mostly because of the metter-stealing, the fact that gaining metter is a bit harder, her damage was higly reduced (Something around 30% when Dark Phoenix) and so did her X-factor.

Then again, not being 100% accurate in a youtube comment is kind of a crime these days.

How should Phoenix be nerfed? I don't get it. Give her less health? Make her health degrade faster while Dark Phoenix is activated? She's not that impressive without X-factor. If you save up 5 levels of super, and save your x factor, then you deserve the rewards. She's not invincible. There isn't a character out there that can't kill her in a single combo.
