Yes, this orphanage is for special needs children. But in Ukraine, that is a broad subject. A special need could be something as simple as not being on target developmentally, or having speech issues.
What's "special" about this orphanage? Like special needs? My wife and I really want to adopt and have the advantage of her being half Ukrainian as well as having close relatives in Kiev. She speaks Russian and we really want a little girl who speaks it too. How easy was finding your daughter? Did officials hassle you? The children here look adorable.
I watched this video many times. It reminded me about my daughter in Kharkov. I met her mother when she was 8 months old. We were married last summer. My daughter is 4 now. I wait here in the states as my wife finishes medical school. I visit the Ukraine every 6-7 months. Going back in July. I will vist a orphanage and see what I can do.
As a father of six (three with disabilities/special needs) being a dad is totally about the caring bit. It makes me sad how so many abandon their children and how in some places on earth there is a culture of abandoning children.
This orphanage is a special baby house. (children up to 7 with varying needs) The children were saying bye and we were making funny faces at each other, thus the laugh.
I metioned "Misha" in the clip. If you go to my favorites, and the "When Love Takes You In, by Ukraine Papa, you will see Misha today. :)
He and his brothers were adopted by a wonderful family.
Thanks for asking.
There are many, many children waiting for families to love them.
