@kmanty thanx man i bougt me an adapter that goes from a 2 3/4 pipe to a 3 in....im plannin to get a center in, dual out vortex muffler 3 inches in and out...and weld on 10in turndown tips straight on the muffler...does this sound possible??
do these mufflers just the can part replace the the stock muffler for increase in volume and tone of sound. do you have to get the full exhaust system or just the muffler to sound like that?
sounds good dude. is everything stock except the muffler and the dual pipes? and how much did all this cost if you don't mind cause i'm considering doing the same thing
yeah stock everything else. i want to say the muffler itself was either 90 or 130 and it was 225 to have it put on and the driver side pipe bent and mounted
@XxClemsonTigersXx The drone isnt bad at all. with the music up crusing 75 down the highway you cant really even tell its there. I wouldnt say i have any regrets, because i love the exhaust, but sometimes i do wish it was still stock. Mainly late at night when im leaving, especially in the winter time when the pipes are cold on start up. I just dont want to wake people up, but all in all im very happy with the choice i made.
i have a beautiful 1976 chevy c-10 with a 350ci that im turning into a rat rod. the only give aways: wider rear tires, dual exhaust, and the fact that it will be much louder.
Sounds good. Ive got a 96 Silverado with the 5.7 and I did the same exhaust it was pretty loud. I bought an airaid cold air intake and throtlebody spacer and when I installed the intake it got a lot louder.
depends. all you really need to know is your exhaust inlet size then go to the website and find it with either a single in single out or single in dual out, unless you already have dual pipes then youll need a dual in dual out
That sounds great! I had the same muffler on my 6.0L Denali, then I sold it, but my next gas vehicle is going to get it again. My 6.0L had ridiculous drone in the cab though when you were at highway speeds. Is the 5.3 as bad?
not really. it has some drone at certain rpm's but for the most part its not bad at all. i can easily talk on the phone or put my stereo on 5 or so and i cant hear it unless im listening for it
installed my cherry bomb vortex yesterday! sounds awsome! love that low deep bassy rumble at idle, and that kick when you start moving...damn i love this muffler!
love it! i'm torn between cherry bomb vortex and flowmaster super 44. anyone of those would be a way better upgrade then my current setup with magnaflow. check my video out and let me know what ya think. also, how does it sound at idle? thanks
ya know its really got a nice tone to it at idle, it doesnt sound "loud" by any means, but its got enough volume that you know its not stock. ive had this on now for quite a while and it still sounds just as good as it did on day 1.
Thanks for the response. I'm going with the Cherry Bomb Vortex on my 2002 GMC Sierra. I hope it sounds as good as yours does. I have 3"SI w/ 2.5"DO and 4" 45'd rolled tips. Can't wait! I'll post a video us when I get it on in a couple of weeks. Thanks again...
That sounds really sweet! You could add some SS glasspak tips or stick with just one if you want more popping when you let off it. Check out my videos for an examples of both on my 5.3 vortex.
not bad at all, you only really notice it from about 1700-2300rpm and once u hit about 3200 it picks up again when it really starts to take off. cruising at 75 you cant even tell inside the cab
Nice I'm planning to get this muffler....pero my pipe is 2.75 in and couldnt find a vortex muffler to fit...any ideas?

XxClemsonTigersXx 1 year ago
@XxClemsonTigersXx No, I had a local shop put it on for me, they were the cheapest place i found that could have it done the day i wanted it done.
kmanty 1 year ago
@kmanty thanks, also, do you have any regrets about putting it on? is it to loud? is there bad drone?

How do I figure out my exhaust inlet size?
IxSLATORxI 2 years ago
check online or you can go measure it yourself. right in front of your muffler
kmanty 2 years ago
or just go to the nearest jegs and they'll measure it for you and tell you what one would be the best for your truck

when driving, does it bring a smile to your face because you can hear it from in your cab?

haha yeah, especially if i can hold it at about 2800-3000rpms for a while before the shift. it turns heads for sure
