Great idea, but I wouldn't buy this product. It doesn't come with an iPhone attachment (why would I NOT want that?). It doesn't really explain how the solar panels work- do they charge when you open them? How does it work? I"m pretty sure it didn't come with the USB cable (unless I lost it when I opened it), and it comes with a confusing looking AC adcaptor that doesn't plug into anything.
It'll leave you confused and sending lots of emails to technical support.
I wonder who knows where can I buy a good and strong solar charger that can charge from the original charger of a video camera or a laptop (110-220v)?Thanks.
I was thinking, why don't they make the entire surface of desks, tables, and countertops some sort of photosensitive material? Wouldn't have to be solar cells, but maybe something that's "just enough" to develop an electrical potential. My electric guitars have electrically-conductive paint on the inside cavities to reduce electrical hum. I figured that offices have quite a lot of "wasted" light sources shining down on desks all day long, so there has to be a way. Who knows?
@BringerofLight111 No, it's more suited to charging portable handheld devices with smaller batteries. The output of the Solio Classic is similar to the power you would get from a USB port on your computer, which isn't enough to charge a laptop.

If you expose the panels to the sun and connect it to a dead laptop, would it charge the laptop?
