  • AWESOME IDEA!! You are right, you get much more in that bottle size and yes those acrylic are really inexpensive. Thank you so much for sharing. Hugz:) Taylor

  • I found dauber tops at my LSS for a buck, they fit perfectly on the acrylic paint bottles. Right now I only have one but I haven't used it much because I really didn't know what to do with it.

2peasinabucket has a great series of classes here on YT, and there is a three part class on paint daubers/dabbers that shows some great techniques on how to use them. Now I want to get more and try them out!

  • Very clever idea.. Thanks for sharing! I have lots of pretty acrylics, I will make a few bottles of fun colors.

  • If you live near a Bingo hall, or know some little old ladies that play Bingo, I am sure they would be more than happy to give up their empty daubers....also, in the days of snail mail, they used to sell little bottles of daubers to stick the stamps...I saw some at the dollar store the other day...keep a look out for that!

  • you can actually buy empty bottles (dauber bottles) from oriental trading! i found this video trying to figure out what i should put in there... :) thanks for sharing!

  • Umm lol this is really useful even though its not for graffiti But btw i don't know is you said it but where can i "buy" this =]?

  • Did you get these from dollar tree. Also have you ever used the ink ithat comes with them for anything. Just curious.

  • Love this idea... thanks for sharing...

  • There's a michaels at highway 7 and woodbine in toronto!

While i was visiting my cousins there they showed me around the place. It's pretty cool!

  • @ketsuekienzeru i go to that one:) its still pretty far down the road...technically in markham, two bus lines!

  • Thanks for the idea. i'm gonna try it. And I think the Tim Holtz dobbers are about the size of a nickel too so you're doing great! Lastly, I really like your tape dispenser. TFS!!!

  • Great Idea.

  • Great idea...I will have to look for bingo dobbers....where did you buy them...the only place I have ever seen them is at a bingo hall when I would take my Nana to bingo.

  • @1sunflowermel I bought mine at the local dollar store so you should be able to find some there =)

  • super great idea...gotta try this...tfs

  • Thanks for sharing this so much! I have to order my dabbers online but this is SO simple and easy and a lot cheaper! Thanks so much for this tutorial!!

  • Hello, I love your idea. I don't drive either. I have an idea for you...for the ink you are tossing down the sink. Get an old dish pan and put the ink in with scrap paper..... leave your paper in the solution for a few minutes. Then let the paper air dry. You will have loads of shabby chic paper for craft with.

  • @purplebeadeddragonfl What a great idea! I will have to try that, thanks =)

  • TFS. I, too, have never tried the daubers but this upcycling seems like a great substitute.

  • Greatttttttttttttt idea!

  • Great idea...very inventive. TFS Amy

  • Thanks for sharing. Great way to save and use the money to buy paper!

  • Yeah ... a fellow Toronto scrapbooker!!! It's too funny 'cause I just said to my friend today 'why aren't there any Michael's stores in Toronto?' Even local scrapbook stores are hard to find ... weird. I'm lovin' your vids ... thanks for the great tips!

  • Love your tips videos.

Keep them coming. We have a Michael's and I live in a small city. Thunder Bay, Ont. ever heard of it LOL.

  • LOVE this idea and LOVE ur stinkin' cute shoe tape dispenser!!! I am sooo happy to have met a fellow Toronto scrapper - we gotta gang up on Michaels and protest one for Toronto!!! lol!!! Maybe we can scrap together someday!!!

    BIG HUGS

  • Thats a great Idea!! I love your Red High Heel Tape Dispenser... I think thats what it is.. LOL

  • Thanks! =) It is a high heel, lol. I bought it at Staples and was so mad a week later they came out with a pink one! lol

  • will the dabbers fit onto the paint bottles instead of pouring the paint into the dabber bottle?

  • No the dabbers are smaller than the paint bottles :-/ Would make it a bit simpler though =)

  • you can order them online!

  • I know you can, but this is just a cheaper way to make your own and not have to pay shipping plus the cost of the dabbers =)

  • VERY CLEVER!!!

  • I have 6 Tim Holtz paint daubers that I've had for a few months and the paint all dried up. I hate them. So, you're not missing anything. What a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

  • First I have to ask...are we twins?!?!? lmfao! I too do not drive and never felt the need to get my license. Also, my name is Samantha (Samm) as well!! lol What an awesome idea! I haven't used the Tim Holtz daubers either, seems like alot of moolah for some paint to me. However, I would so try this...it seems so much more economical and looks to work the same if not better to me!! Easy to refill!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

  • lol could be! My mom always looked like she was keeping a secret, lol

  • OMG SAMANTHA!!!! I LOVE YOU!! LOL omg no seriously..like this is the easiest thing to do..you totally made my day..i have one tim holtz dauber and its like almost empty..i love this idea....GREAT JOB TFS!!!!
