  • Road food, AMERICAN CHEESE :)

  • @lollipopfop I would like to beat you up with my gigantic thumbs, for I am the masked crusader of the young and the dumb!

  • Its a good book to read when you are young and dumb.

  • Tom Robbins and this book is referenced in

"6 Newly Discovered and Never Before Published Secrets to Eternal Youth and Immortality"

    by Eternal Youth Empire.

Thank you for being such a profound inspiration!

  • The Chink is my favorite character in the whole book! I also like Dr.Robbins. What ticks me off a little is the fact that hes not in the movie...he was big in the later part of the book.

  • I just don't get it!! I love this movie. Why do people think it's bad?

  • @Zerafinel they dont get it

  • the worldwide situation is still desperate, as usual.

  • A great book but a rotten movie

  • this was number 13 on the 100 worst movies ever made list

  • I LOVED this BOOK! Movie was pretty good, too. John Hurt is SO perfect for the role as The Countess!

  • Greatest movie ever! It is not meant to be realistic, but a fable about life...or, to quote the Countess: "Grandiose, lyrical, erotic...and Girl Scout-oriented. You can't top it!"

  • Loved Jitterbug Perfume--couldn't get into Even Cowgirls Get the Blues.

  • Tom Robbins' worst novel ever... made into one of the dumbest movies ever....

  • Not pointless, is about freedom I think, and all the ways to get, and the search for the middle, even about drugs thought; I really like it, for me it's like a recap of veganism, individualism, revolution, hinduism... so I don't wait for a response just my opinion, ohh, my opinion.

It has also about american history and culture and with american I mean the whole people.

And is also funny and not serious, that's what I like

  • Ha-Ha, Ho-Ho, He-He

  • I love when the sistas dropped their drawers and create a wall of tang....

  • my wife's aunt played big red on this movie....

  • I Loooove this wierd and wonderful movie!

  • im a TR fan from way back ... and i even like most Gus Van Sant movies , but i thought this movie was horrible .

i didnt want it to be , i swear i TRIED to like it .

  • Huge TR fan as well. I have this movie sitting at home from Netflix. I'm afraid to watch it and be let down.

  • @waitwhatwasthat yes it will be a let down if you have high expectations, just watch it its just a movie.but nothing compares to the book ;)

  • CRAP

  • saw the movie in viennas top kino - there were only 8 or so people in the cinema - and some left in the middle of the film - me, i enjoyed the fim sooo much - hilarious - loved the voiceover from tom robbins - and it is such a shame that the film got shortened after the premiere...... well hopefully there will be a reedit for dvd with all of the fotage shot by gus van sand.... one of my favourite movies!!

  • Oh jackal, I couldn't agree more. In the speeches by Bonanza Jellybean, the actress sounded like she was reading a laundry list.

  • this was a peculiar movie,

i enjoyed it though, to be honest.

  • for river......... *

  • i love the movie , I knew they would make a movie. I read the book in 1978, it was great!

  • This book was brilliant, but it bugged the HELL out of me...i just finished it ten minutes ago

  • I love this movie so much the cast is great and uma thurman and rain phoenix are so funny and great!!!! THEY DONT MAKE MOVIES LIKE THIS ANYMORE, Colleen Phoenixxxooo

  • River is beautiful in this film =]

    As always may i add!!

    x

    x

  • The book is unbelievably good! One of my formative books as a teen..Definitely worth a read.

  • We actually saw it twice in the theater because we couldn't believe how bad it was the first time. It's just dumbfounding.

  • on a scale to 1 to 10 how bad was it?

  • Well, I haven't watched it again since then, but I'd say the cinematography is about a 7, the music about a 7, the editing a 2, the acting about a -4, and the script a soul-sucking cypher... average it out to about a 1. It's a 95-minute slow-motion train wreck from some really talented people, and I agree with Roger Ebert in this case that it is "empty, pointless [and] baffling."

  • 2. Look, I am being very positive about this film giving that 2 just because of the opening which is great, interesting and Keanu Reeves's scenes (funny). The rest doesn't work at all and this is the worst film by the great Van Sant.

  • I saw this movie today and to be honest it was awful. It had a talented cast though just bad movie.

  • I don't know who was the worse actress, Thurman, Phoenix, or Dickinson. Hurt, Morita, & pretty much everybody else was just great, & Lorraine Bracco would've been 10 times better as Bonanza Jellybean.

  • Her only problem is she'a all thumbs.

  • How bizarre, how bizarre.....

  • hoot hoot
