I'm an English MLS fan and I'd just like to say how entertaining some of the matches have been so far this season. I don't know whether the standard is improving greatly but the competition and passion is excellent. And the amount of chances that are created is top-notch. Long may it continue!
this was a real quality goal. dc's goal was a terrific bit of skill by fred, ne's was great team play. the pk was soft, but ne really was the top team in the second half. we deserved the three points.
I hate it when I end the game talking about the officiating. If that is a penalty show some consistency and always call it as one, sometimes just causes frustration.
I'm not one that likes to blame the refs for games, because I believe bad calls eventually even themselves out, but this week, the refs were horrible.
This bullshit penalty screwed my Red Bulls by giving NE 3 points. Now I understand how bad Red Bull are right now, so it's their fault too, but NE can't be getting ahead in the division on bullshit calls like this.
The officiating this year has been really suspect. I don't know if it is that the speed and quality of players is higher and the refs just cannot keep up...or if they just need professional crews period. Maybe I just haven't noticed in years past but that is a major gripe this year. There are always mistakes, but it just seems there are several game changing mistakes on a weekly basis in MLS this season.
This is the MLS, not Serie A. We play physically and we don't take dives (comparatively speaking).
What constitutes over aggression and normal give and take changes from league to league. What I saw there was something the refs could have overlooked.
We don't want to see every attacker in the MLS diving like Landon.
Wow DC got dicked here, this is way worse than the Chicago PK in the Chicago-Chivas USA game...horrible decision, granted DC should have burried this game earlier but still bad call in an otherwise pretty well officiated game from what I saw of the first half
They really, really need to find better commentators. "It's in the net!" is literally the worst goal call in televised football today.
