  • Great tutorial Tracy! I use the Mod Podge that is called "Paper Mod Podge". It's a little thinner than the regular MP, but it causes....sticky fingers! LOL. I like the idea of using the Xyron. Darn! The one tool I don't have! lol Will have to get one. I'm off to watch your zombie vid :)

  • @yoliebean I haven't heard of this Paper Mod Podge, thanks for the tip.

If I don't use my Xyron then I just water down some regular white glue.

I hate sticky fingers, hard to get away from it with this craft though, teehee.

  • can u do a tutorial on making an envelope album plz hope its easy :) soz if i make no sense

  • @asngirl89 I did make a tutorial for my coin envelope mini, but I just looked back and I don't think I did a good step by step, lol.

So I will try and make one, but it won't probably happen for a while :)

  • @asngirl89 I did do a tutorial on my coin envelope mini, but I just re watched it and I don't think I was to clear, lol.

I will try and get one done for you, but it won't be until the new year :)

  • Thanks very much for this video. I learned a lot. My biggest problem is where to get chipboard or what can I use as a substitute. Also, what's the best way to cut chipboard to size? Thanks.

  • @msjenjenp Thank you so much for commenting.

As for the chipboard, I am lucky enough to have a book binding store near me and they give me their cut offs :)

But when you purchase loose papers ask the store to give you some chipboard to keep the papers from bending. That is usually really good to use.

I also use the backs of note pads, or others have used cerial boxes, cracker boxes or snack boxes for it, Hope this helps :)

  • Thanks for sharing your video, what did you do with the other side?? cover it the same way???

  • @TheDAWNSNIGHT Thank you for commenting. Yes I would cover it the same way. But if it is a pocket, then no I wouldn't do anything with it as you wouldn't be able to see the back as it would be adhered to the page :)

  • What I learnt from this is the sanding!!! Thank you!

  • @99Alexj99 Thank you for watching and commenting, so happy I could be of some help :)

  • Thx for this video! I'm having a hard time using my exacto knife, so thanks for suggesting using scissors.

  • @4nikkimay Thank you for commenting. As you could see I had some trouble with that finger exacto knife. I rather use a regular one.

  • Hi, I am sooo... excited now having watched your video because I have just purchased a xyron machine, it will be arriving in a few days :) I am very new to scrapbooking and i'm about to work on a scrapbook project for my brother's 60th birthday. I got myself a chipboard book 6x6 and have been thinking how best to cover all the pages with the base papers. Thanks to you, I now know how to go about it :)) You are a STAR!!!!!!!!

  • @Inventeddoor Awww thank you so much.

I love my adhesive machines. I try to get the most out of the blank spaces of adhesive. Tip...just remember when doing paper to put the correct side down, lol....just ask me how I know this ;)

  • Ok I like this machine, I think I will buy it but what about the rest of the paper that is left does it go to waste?

  • @morenasa75 I love these adhesive machines. Yes the spaces that don't have paper are wasted, that is why I try to put other things (papers) that I would want adhesive on in the blank spaces.

  • Thanks so much for sharing your technique and explaining it so clearly.

  • @frps56 Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it :)

  • OK a real newbie question lol, Are there more than one grade for the sanding block? I haven't sanded anything in years, but know the papers are different, so which do we want a fine medium, or coarse sanding block or do they come in numbers etc ? I can't remember lol. Thanks so much :)

  • @cynnthea Yes there are different grades of sand paper. I just went to the hardware store (I also do wookworking) and got a fine to medium grit of sanding paper.

You can feel the difference. Hope this helps

  • This was the best video that I have seen that was detailed and clear. I have been looking for a video that explained the basic techniques of coving a chipboard. Thank you for taking the time and explaining how to..

Please continue to share your great ideas!

  • @jinjergirl Thank you so much for the sweet comment. Comments like yours put a smile on my face.

  • Thank you! yes, I am new the paper crafting so I loved your video. You spoke well, and explained it all.

  • Thanks for the idea on another use for my xyron!

  • Great tutorial. I knew there was another reason why I needed to get a xyron!

  • Thanks for your video - it's great to see how you make your chipboard cover!

  • @gaylefis Thank you,

  • Thanks for sharing as every little suggestion helps. I have wondered about the control of that style of cutter. Enloy your videos.

  • @iluvtojournal Thank you. I am on the fence about this knife, I know some who love it.

  • Yup...really think I need to get one of those bigger Xyron's! I find I have more control with that particular blade if I use my middle finger...it just seems to balance better for some reason. I really love using it, so maybe that will work for you too!...Nancy :o)

  • @nickelnook1 Thanks for the tip Nancy :) If you are thinking of getting a Xyron, check the price and the price of the refills...a bit pricey. Just so you know :)

  • I love my Xyron! This is one of the best things ever invented for crafters! Who could not love being able to make everything into a sticker (as long as it's flat). Great Job. I am almost finished with one of those 3x3 minis from one sheet of paper. Really cute! Can't wait to share. Noreen

  • @atticus9799 As you know I love my Xyron as well. The refills are pricey here. But we are going to the States this weekend, going to stock up :)

Looking forward to seeing your mini :)

  • hey tracy... isn't that really expensive to use the xyron?

  • @pickkabooo To use the glue or liquid adhesive is way less expensive to use then the xyron, thats for sure.

I use both, but seem to be using the xyron more (where I can). Yes the refills are pricey, but I use a coupon. For me I'm willing to pay a bit more for them :)

  • Awesome idea! I don't know why I never think to use my Xyron!? Your right, no sticky fingers! TFS,

    Brigitte

  • @shoeprincess1 Its funny this little things we don't think of eh?

Glad I could bring this to light :)

  • I had no idea I could put chipboard through my Zyron. Thanks for sharing.

  • @lavendarrose29 Oh ya, I even put my thick chipboard through it.

  • Thanks Tracy, I'm loving your tutorials for beginners. Love that little glueing machine.

    Chrissie

  • @chrissiecrosser Thanks Chrissie, I really like it as well. But you don't need it, you can just use regular glue :)

  • Thanks so much.....very helpful.....

  • @sugarcoated101 Thank you

  • Thanks Tracy! Great tut.

    Sybil

  • @JandSib80 Thank you Sybil

  • @602redroses Thanks for commenting

  • Great tutorial..now I need one more piece of equipment a Xron ! Here I thought I had bought everything I would ever need LOL..Thanks So Much for Sharing!

  • WooHoo! You are kicking butt at these tutorials, great teaching :0) I wish I would have been a beginner for you, these are great and easy to follow! Big hugs!

  • @babytweetums Thanks so much. No matter if you are new to this or not, everyone does things differently. And we could all use some tips from others.

  • thanks for the vid. i forget about my xyron machines. I'll remember them for the next mini.

    tfs,

    marlene

  • @memoriescrafted Teehee, I have been getting a few of these messages :)

  • The Xyron is my fav adhesive for covering chipboard, too. I love the edge to edge coverage and that it doesn't make thin paper pucker. TFS!

    Smiles, Jeannie

  • @Geewhiz65 Thanks Jeannie.
