Why is the first amendment inapplicable when Muslims want to build a house of worship of their own, say for example, in Tennessee, New York, or elsewhere? If most people in America are Christian, and by extension our ancestors being primarily Christian than our Nation is of course Christian in character.

The reason that the police were pushing people back is because the group wanted to march from the area which they began the protest, to the area designated for free speech. I think that Dearborn/Wayne County PD handled the situation well. If you pay careful attention to what is being said by the officers, you would notice that they were trying to people everyone, 3:05.
