  • ahh i love dickens

  • Lovely. Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful ending :') I absolutely adore this story =')

  • this is one of my favourite works by dickens

  • Ugh I absolutely love this film, it made me cry, the ending :')

"here I close this narrative, with agnes at my side. Agnes, agnes, may you so be near me when I close my life. When realities are melting from me like the shadows of this story, may I find you near me still."

    Cordialement, Ludmila

  • Thanks for the upload...

    Fantastic

  • Sweet Movie! :') <33333333333333333

  • amazing movie!!

  • The movie brought out the style that Charles Dickens offers the reader, and the scenarios and characters that he describes are exemplarily perfomed. The moive is almost as emotional and captivating as the book; leading to a semetrical cinematographic arrangement. Neverteless, my major dissapointment are majorly (like every "book-to-cinema-relationship") that certain characters like James Steerforth, Mrs. Steerforth, Miss Dartle, Mr.Peggotty, and Emily were put in second row or weren't put at all

  • I absolutely love the character of Mr Dick! :)

  • what crap... they spoiled the whole book

  • Thank you very much for sharing this lovely version of David Copperfield. I thoroughly enjoyed it:)

  • Why can't men be as chivalrous and wonderful now as they were then? Where are you men of courage?

  • I bought my husband a copy of this book. It was published in 1943. I am giving it to him for christmas. Dickens is his favorite author. I watched this today and started reading the story hoping we'll spend many hours talking about this great work. Thank you for sharing/uploading.

  • Very sweet. I think I'd have to be a teenager to really appreciate the romance in this, just because David is SO YOUNG! Agnes is so beautiful and graceful, it's a little hard to feel the chemistry between her and such a young actor. BTW, I LOVE AGNES HAIR! I WANT MY HAIR LIKE THAT!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this..beautiful ending too! :)

  • @ApostleCreed10 ... Thankyou so very much for uploading this version of 'David Copperfield'... Even though the sync was out abit, I didn't care one jot... marvellous, absolutely marvellous,.

Many years rolled back and 'I was watching this with my Mother on a Sunday evening' ...An awesome treat and re-newed aquaintence with Mr Charles Dickens and his fine works... *Ahh bliss*

    Best regards from Wales :0)x

  • Bravo Mr. Dickens!!

  • I think I need to read the book now. I also think I will be bothered to read Charles dickens' other books.

    P.S. Thanks for uploading

  • @sohaibthephilosopher am just soo in love with the book :d

  • Thank you so much ApostleCreed10. Please upload more classics if you have any. I loved watching it.

And these people leaving ugly, nasty comments should just go jump off a cliff.

  • @lionking0110 thanks glad you've enjoyed it mate,,,yeah hope people read the description first before watching.cheers!

  • ok there are some weird people in the comment area .to everybody who is complaining:

Like poliador said, it's an adaption not an exact remake of the story. I think everybody is disappointed of the movie version of a book he likes, but I learned to accept it, I can live with Jane Austen and charles dickens movies &some more.

But the most important thing is to remain respect for each other^^

i can't help it, but some of the people here seem to forget this.

    Thank you for uploading ApostleCreed10

  • the book is waaaaay better

  • i want the old movie its much better but i cant find it can anybody tell me the old copy?

  • stop using wmm to edit

  • @thesoundguy13 wmm??is this the only program you know?

  • @ApostleCreed10 thats not the point you twat, your uploads are shitty and out of sync.

learn to encode or don't upload at all. BTW love Charles dickens but you ruined it for 37338 people by fucking up the audio. don't pretend you didn't. blind much??

  • Best nevel ever with it's best movie,A lot of thx to creed10 :)

  • @XxXKimo05XxX welcome:)

  • Thank you very much for posting this wonderful masterpiece ^^ Even there were a few scene deleted and Mr.and Misses Strong were not presented I enjoyed this movie very much^^

  • "Oh Agnes! Oh my soul! so may thy face be by me when I close my eyes indeed! so may I, when realities are melted from me like the shadows which I now dismiss still find thee near me, pointing upward!"

how beautiful! amazing book, amazing characters, amazing writing and a splendid Author <3

  • I finished the book yesterday, GOD! how lonely I felt after finishing it, it's like I will miss the characters. I must say that after reading this novel (which became my favorite) and watching Little Dorrit the series. Charles Dickens became my favorite author, thank you Mr.Dickens for filling these past few months with these lively characters.

but in general, I didn't like this version at all....

  • hey Apostlecreed10..thank you so much for posting this.this is really awsome story.

  • @jackey5556 thanks for dropping..cheers.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • i find it pretty outrageous that they left out the Emmy (not Emily) - Ham conflict, which was at least as important then the David-Dora one according to the book, and the portrayal of Mr Pegotty is very weak compared to the novel... otherwise it's a pretty good adaptation; they couldn't have chosen a better actor for the main role (both young and adult). Respect!

  • Fantastic to see the movie! thanks again ApostleCreed10)

    Micchael from Brazil

  • A great movie based on one of the most appreciated works of literature i have ever read...

Charles Dickens is my favorite British novelist ever, and there isn't anything he wrote that i could not love. My favorite book of his, is "Great Expectations" - just sublime...

Thank you ApostleCreed10 for adding this movie, for that every moment i spend in a Dickens universe is unforgettable.

  • Loved this... thank you ApostleCreed10... I have read the book and this is a pretty good adaption!!! Hugh Dancy was a GREAT David Copperfield!!! Thanks Again!!!

  • @Dixiechick18 very much welcome,i'm glad you've enjoyed it even some part are out of sync.cheers:)

  • By far the best film version I have seen. I watched it before when I found the DVD inside a newspaper I bought, I actually cried when I watched it the first time and found it hard to fight back the tears again this time. I told my partner we had to watch it together and we did, thanks to you. I am very thankful and praise you a great deal for uploading it.

In the words of Mr McCawber - "You are a trogan"

  • I absolutely recommend the book. Charles Dickens is a shining light of English literature.

Google books has scans of the original free for the reading on your computer.

  • LOVED THE MOVIE !!!! LOVED THE BOOK

  • Loved this movie..awesome actors dynamic performances by all.

  • I loved this movie..very good actors and dynamic performances.

  • Beautiful ending :) Thanks for uploading~

  • he's just so perfect, it's unbearable...

  • thank you for taking the time to upload

  • Found your story about David Copperfield and watched the whole movie. Loved every piece of it. Thank you.

  • great upload. very goof quality too.

    much appreciated

  • Actually the book didn't end this way. Ridiculous. There was a few odds and ends tyed up. Spoiler: they had like what 5 kids I forget even though I just finished, mr. peggotty comes to visit and gives news of Emily, micawber, gummwhich. Anyway, it would have been nice for the movie to at least end complete with a full ending not a crappy love scene where the actor mumbles his few stupid lines and they get married. It should have dragged on a little towered the end. I'm glad to have read the boo

  • i am so amazed with that movie the characters have performing the words lively specially Uriah , David , Pegotty . i felt so pity for David's mum i think i'm in love with her lol

  • Thanks for the upload! Hugh Dancy made a lovely David. Alas, Steerforth was a disappointment...this version really downplayed the Emily/Steerforth/Ham triangle.

  • I'm auditioning tonight to play Dan Peggotty at the Dickens Christmas Faire here in the Bay Area. I hadn't seen or read David Copperfield before today, and have a better idea of what to do now. Thanks so much for posting this series of videos!

  • Brilliant version!! the child actor was particularly good!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I'm about to read it for my Uni course and really wasn't looking forward to reading it. But after watching this I have a real sense of who the characters are and i'm looking forward to giving it a go! It seems like one of the better Dickens novels (unlike Dombey and Son which I detested) :)

  • But was Agnes not supposed to be his sister (atleast in spirit as David earlier mentioned in the narrative).

  • David and Agnes are so beutiful together.

Great movie I really enjoyed it.

Thanks much for sharing this movies with us ApostleCreed10!

  • @ysomar no problem:) glad you enjoyed it..cheers.

  • Lovely movie, i enjoyed it so very much, thank you so much for the time you took to upload it, please keep up the good work.

  • Thanks for posting this lovly movie.

  • Out of synch abit!

  • I want a great great great movie for this book. I want to have tears in my eyes like when i read it. Crying and laughing at the same time. Crazy childhood story. Sorry too much emotions.

  • @vphuongdktdbk I so hear you. :)

  • Thank you so much for uploading, I enjoyed watching this lovely series :)

  • absolutely loved it...... every bit of that series was interesting!!!! great job done by Hugh Dancy...

  • Awuuh

    I Love Mr.Dick

    He's Soo Cute :)

  • A cracking tale that is full of imagination, with both tragedy and comedy alike and in Short... The Worlds greates Author.

  • Nice movie. Though, I think the characters for Mr. McAwber and Heep are a bit corny in this one.

Not read the book, but I've seen several versions many times. This is the first one where the Murdstones make any appearance in David's adult life. How true is this to the book?

    Thanks for uploading.

  • mr dick has a dorse dick

  • Thank you so much for providing this. I saw a different adaptation before but have been wanting to see this one with Hugh Dancy for very long. It isn't available in the U.S. I think this is my favorite Dickens story. Thanks again!

  • Even if BBC does a better adaptation of this book, I still loved this version. Sally Field cracks me up with her "DONKEY!"

  • I cant watch the last part

  • Thanks for posting this. As a fan of Dickens, generally, and of this novel, specifically, I've always been interested to see this version. Now that I have, I can say that The BBC version is infinitely superior. This bears a passing resemblance to the book, but the BBC version, with some minor exceptions, IS the book. It's much more faithful, with a better cast, and is quite moving. This is... interesting... but, it can't compare. I encourage everyone to see the BBC version if you liked this.

  • This is single-handedly one of the best based-on-books -movies I've ever seen. The actors are so amazing I can't help but smile at them. And the places where the scenes have been filmed are absolutely beautiful. Especially the one where Agnes is sitting when David comes to say he loves her. It's just amazing.

  • That was incredible ;_;

  • beautifulll

  • thanks buddie for uploading

really enjoyed the whole movie =))

  • beautiful ending!!!

  • great adaptation of the book! thank you so much for uploading!

  • Lovely...

  • I want to have a Mr Dick to give me advice!

  • Visually stunnning-beautiful and so is Hugh Dancy-lol-theres many adaptations-some leave this or that out- I love all versions because I love the original-thank you for uploading- I was pleased

  • I love this version.. thank you for uploading!!

    love the soundtrack too..

  • We have enjoyed watching the whole film. Thank you!

  • Thank you very much for uploading.

The actor playing Heep was excellent.

He really made my skin crawl.

  • Movies are not recreations of books but rather adaptations. So people should also read the book.

  • AWFUL

  • thanks for uploading, I have never seen that version. Loved Mr McCawber!
