for anyone who went to private schools all their lives, did teachers make you duck walk across the room as a disciplinary action in your private school?
Did any of you see Waiting For Superman? It totally revealed the sad state of US public schools. We can and should blame the system, governments (both state and federal) as well as teacher's unions.
This is not an educational problem. This is a cultural problem. Yes, our education system has many flaws, but we still produce some of the top minds in the world, and several of them came from poor families and from public schools. So many Americans don't value education like they do in other countries, especially in inner cities, where you are often an outcast for wanting a good education. Once we start valuing education and hard work, we'll succeed, no matter what walk of life you come from
It is because of minority scum that the USA is a 3rd world nation now. When we were 99% white we were on top of the world. If you want to kill a nation just add minority scum. They consume every thing, minorities contribute nothing. t hey are worthless eaters.
Its not the teachers or the students. Its the content of the educational material. Its very abstract ad useless. Not everyone should or deserves to go to college. Skillsets in Sales/marketing, Plumbing, electrical should all be taught with a minimal focus on foreign language, history, and english literature. We are in dire need of highschool graduates with skillsets. not potential college dropouts who were going for bullshit degrees like political science.
@jimi2940 There are trade school programs for specialized skillsets such as plumbing and electrical. Try marketing or selling to a company based in another country without having any prior knowledge in foreign language, or history for that matter. If you honestly believe that English, foreign languages, and history need to be minimalized, what do you make of a generation that already doesn't remember its history and will be less literate than the previous generation? Content is what you make it.
Wow. Pretty much all of what they're saying matches up with what I've seen in my hometown, where the high school is called "heroin high". And my hometown is said to have one of the "better" public schools in the US!
If you really try find a direction to point your finger at, it's extremely difficult to blame at anyone at all. The biggest problem with the school system is the role that people play in it. Even though you can blame the teacher all you want, sometimes they cannot do anything without a grant, and you have to go through administration for that. But if administration doesn't allocate money for them due to budget cuts, who are you to blame nowadays?
The public school system in America is a shambles! Without free-market discipline, parents can't reward excellent teachers nor punish incompetent teachers; the NEA, DoE, and school administrations have seen to that. Government has no place educating its population as that constitutes a severe conflict of interests. A population free to self-educate will not cede its Liberty; a population dumbed down by state education can be willingly lead down the Road to Hell.
@bravo0105 I'd agree with that. Teachers would work harder for their jobs. But that's basically bribing. Of course you can reward teachers for doing well. You just cannot punish them. In addition to that, if we had that system, then the saying to preserve "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is invalid. If one wants better education, you can always put your kids in private school.
This video entirely misses the point. It's not a school problem or a teacher problem or a money problem, it's a racial intelligence problem. Negroes and hispanics are simply less intelligent than Whites or Orientals and CAN'T do as well in school. The White students in American schools compete well with the best White and Oriental students in the world. Naturally. The White Race is, after all, the Race of Civilization -- the creators of nearly every advanced civilization throughout history.
@ColumbusMaine Our local schools have almost no minority students. The teachers are some of the best paid in the country, have been on strike over a month, and the kids are still doing poorly. I'm teaching my own kids now and can see they're not nearly on the level hubby and I were at their age. They've done more at home this month than they did this year before the strike. It's not an intelligence problem. It's not a racial problem. It's a systemic school problem.
Teacher "X" teaches 5 classes. He teaches 3 Algebra classes, 1 Advanced Algebra class, and 1 remedial class. His first four classes are okay, but his last class is utter chaos!
Why?
Is it because the class has 43 students instead of 35?
Or maybe because the majority of the students don't speak English?
Could it be that it's late in the day and the kids are tired?
Or maybe, just maybe, the kids are DOWN-RIGHT LAZY?
Stop blaming the hard-working, dedicated teachers!
but it is the jews that causes all the problems in the world....
look what theyve done in Palestine murdering the poor and helpless and set up a blockage. Just exactly like what Hitler did to them..if the lesson they ever learned was to cause more pain and suffering among humans.
"Let he who is free of sin cast the first stone." Just a quote to think on before claiming that the Jews are the only ones to perpetrate acts of evil. Think back, and try to name one country that has never committed a moral atrocity at any point in its past. If you cannot come up with one, then your point is invalidated, because that means that EVERY SOCIETY is like that to some extent (a large extent, in most cases). Hate to break it to you, but sadly, it's the norm.
@MsJanetWood the holocaust is a hoax, and if you honestly research most problems there always seems to be a self chosen tribe member at the bottom of it

@Aislan4414 That's true. I moved to a new place with great teachers but they couldn't teach because the kids were always interrupting them and I couldn't learn bc the teachers were so frustrated. But what I'm talking about is like the ones who flirt with students like the Chadwin Reynolds guy. The fool wears t-shirts that says Hustler on them and comments on student fb pics saying they're sexy. Sooo disgusting.
I would like to inform you of a job opening at McGavock High School in Nashville Tennessee.
An Algebra teacher, Mr.Donald Wood recently was let go . . . Perhaps, this is your opportunity to prove that you are just not an arm-chair quarterback. I want to see you do it! 3 months! That is all!
Hey, if you think you're qualified to evaluate teachers, then, you should be able to teach, right?
Study after study shows that kids in private schools do no better than ones in public schools, and in some cases do worse. (see CREDO Stanford study)
The only reason why the US trails some countries in testing is because certain countries weed out their bad students and only put forward their most successful students to take exams. Raffles are an antidemocratic way of distributing education and this film is nothing but propaganda.
@zinsisrocking - It sounds like you're the one being racist here. I didn't even watch it for the colour of their skin. I guess that's the first thing that comes to mind for you, the racist viewer.
@zinsisrocking The ones that are good in math are Asian because they're from the counties that came in first as best in math and science, which are Asian countries. Look at the flags on their shirts.
And the "drop out factory" schools are in poor areas, and a lot of the really poor areas in the US are sadly also areas that are majority Black.
@zinsisrocking Seriosly, I didn't notice the skin colors. But you've just proven their point. Many Americans have a large ego and believe in this "American Exceptionalism", while in fact their country is pretty mediochre.
@GaolisVideoLog Why would you pay attention to a "mediocre" country, if it did not hold some importance in your life? Those who are outside America's borders enjoy criticising it, yet simultaneously enjoy the benefit of America's military and trade, as well as its international appeal in entertainment and the arts. It is likely that you are among those who curse America by day, while devouring its fruits at night. A shameless hypocrite.
@noseraph Nah, not really. I don't get anything from the US. Not where I live. And concerning the "enjoyment" that you're speaking of: You mean the human rights violations in Subic, Mindanao and Okinawa, Guantanamo bay or wherenot commited by US GIs, right?
@GaolisVideoLog Are you sure you don't enjoy American entertainment? Your channel suggests that you don't dislike Puddle of Mudd and the legendary Lionel Richie. Not that I would blame you - Lionel Richie is great in concert.
Teachers can't be blamed for a flawed system. This whole debacle is the fault of the industrialised "Factory" system of schooling. Teachers are victims, not the criminals.
@Antharmo Considering how much they have to pay out of their own pockets to stock their classrooms, work ridiculous hours for rather crappy pay, and how they have to deal with parents who think their child is special, is it any wonder?
Unfortunately, America's teacher's union protects the bad ones from getting fired solely for not getting the job done. They pretty much have to commit a jailable offense to get fired. Furthermore, the teacher's union does too much for senior teachers who are close to retirement and too little for new teachers, which lowers the retention rate for new talent, which can in turn fuel a deficit of teachers, leading to excessive class sizes (and that's just what I've seen firsthand).
I agree with everything you said ESPECIALLY the bit about jailable offenses. It's a sticky situation the union is crooked but without it all teachers even the good ones would most likely get screwed.
@Antharmo So even suspended teachers shouldn't be blamed? What if they're being suspended because they can't teach, or if they had sexually harassed a student? It's not just the flawed system, teachers can be crap too.
