This is the best Queen Elizabeth I have ever seen portrayed in the cinema. She's got that sprite personality that HM had in such abundance and for which the public loved her.
embarrassing portrayal of the royal family, is only endearing in the way it is so ironically bad, to show any reverence reveals a unworldliness of the viewer..... lacklustre pseudo-intellectualism
Imelda Staunton is the best, so better than helen in all ways, she deseved the oscar for vera drake and helen not. imelda staunton is perfect in all her roles, shes just, well she is the most wonderful
Yes, she's an excellent Queen Elizabeth. The late Queen was a great character. She once visited a Jaguar factory in Coventry. When she arrived, she asked for a scotch after the long trip. She then toured the factory and had a scotch afterwards to recover from the exertion. Then there was a scotch before lunch and a scotch afterwards, and a scotch for the road before she left. She switched from gin to scotch when she turned 70, which undoubtedly accounts for why she lived so long. A wonderful lady.

Imelda Staunton is a perfect queen-she should have played the Mirren-part. I just adore her work. Thanks a lot for posting.

No, I think Mirren was a much better QEII. Staunton makes the PERFECT Queen Mother.

This was the best dialogue of the whole movie! Ladies not allowed to show an interest in his 'percy pointer'.. not even princesses LOL!
