You're not getting the point of juggling. There are many things athletes do off the field to train for their sport that they don't exactly do on the field. It's all about touch, first touch in particular. Speed and athleticism will only get you so far!

i dont want to be rude, but-really- ball control is not everything, it only allows u to be employed in a circus... There is so much more in football, tactic, passes, shoots, even so called off the ball behaviour. When this kid wants to be a player, he needs to have an opportunity, to develop and i hardly belive there is one for him at Hawaii. So change to some european youth club, unless u want to be some Hawaii beach attraction. No offence. I wish u luck.

You are correct about having an opportunity outside of Hawaii, as we are demographically challenged and creative soccer players are far and few. I hope to travel to Europe soon. So far we've traveled and played in Japan and along the US West Coast. There are some good opportunities there as well.

Haha! You're right, I'm lazy. I have over 100 DV tapes with game footage but have to sift through them all. Man, it's going to take some time. I'll probably do a footwork video with KJ to help younger kids learn some basic touches. Maybe we'll throw together a quick juggling video for fun this weekend. Check back soon!

We're glad your daughter liked this! KJ has been playing since about 5 years old and he's 11 in the video. Keep your daughter on the ball and have her play with it every day. Juggling small beach balls in the house is a good way to get the timing and coordination before moving to real soccer balls.

Football is alive and well here in Hawaii. We have a great park facility at Waipio Soccer Complex with about 20 fields and a soccer-only stadium. The kids are fortunate to have that on such a small island!

KJ does this for kicks (no pun intended :-). He's a better player than a juggler, in my opinion; however, juggling has really improved his first touch, which I find is lacking in so many players these days. Just my two cents.

As I watch this, I'm actually impressed. Next step is to get the legs rounding the ball when he pops it up with the laces. Got a good step-over. Put a move together after he drops it on the outside of his foot. I only saw one shoulder control move. Proud of this kid though.
