Why is the foot being pointed at the net post so important? I like a strong back turn in my one handed backhand and the ones I teach. Pointing your foot at an angle like that makes it more difficult to turn your back. Roger seems to be doing pretty well with his foot parallel to the court.
great rapport ! We all work on the direction of that foot, but much like that in the delivery stride of a cricket bowler, the small changes in the second to last step made by the other foot are oft neglected. It is almost as crucial, to direction of force and degree of torque, as its position when hitting an open stance backhand
I do not think that you will ever see anything like Roger Federer again in your life... He has been too good for too long. Still to this day, it takes both an incredible effort and being really on for top 10 players to win a game against Federer...
If you get some of his forehands when he was in the mid twenties, you will see that nothing in today's top players matches any aspect of that shot. No one hits harder, more accuratly and with such variety... He lost pace, that's it.
