Steve Cropper is one of the greatest guitarists in the history of soul, blues...you name it! Not enough credit! He is responsible for being part of the Blues Bros. fame, OC Smith, Otis Redding.... again... you name it...he's been a part of it.
Thanks for posting this great old classic. The sheet music for Booker T.'s original organ part for "Green Onions" can be found at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm - a note-for-note transcription of the main riff.

Have these guys played anything other than the same "same old" for the last 40 years? Yeah, yeah...the music is good BUT the same stuff for 40 years must feel like being in hell....
Agreed. This is a jamming song, so each solo comes out differently every time they play. Besides, you can tell they're having a good time with it, so let them have their fun.
Guess you don't know much about booker T. & the MGs. They were the back up band for Stax Records. Ever heard of Midnight Hour written by Wilson Picket &Steve Cropper. The band was too busy playing for Ottis Redding & all the great soul artist to perform much back then.
very nice!!! no gimmicks, no display of tech virtuosity, just simple basic sounds played with a heart..and they sound great..so much for eddie van halen, steve vai etc. etc and all the other colones....DIG IT ???
Couldn't agree more! "Green Onions" has always been one of my favoriyes, but that was the first time I saw that video, and I absolutely loved it! I don't care what anybody says, the "old schoolers" do it best!
