I'm not speaking of the dog birthing its pups but for the fact this woman has some serious issues.She thinks she's a midwife for her Chihuahua but when the dog cannot get the pup out she tells it to push harder as if it wasn't.I was truly disgusted when I watched the poor dog wimpering in pain. I used to work for a veterinarian and I've seen many "so called" breeders think they know more than the trained professionals. I think this is one of those cases.

First of all, she didnt shout at Sapphire, said it gently and she did that so she could help the baby going, like a nurse would with a human baby.
Second, why shouldnt she say OK? Anyone, person/dog/etc., would like to know whats happening with their baby. It's natural to say soothing things to a pained and panicked mother.
All I have to say is wow. do you know how many full breed dogs and cats are filling up the shelters and here you are breeding more dogs. you were worried alright if that pup had died that was about 350 dollars down the drain. its very sad and pathetic. instead of benefiting by earning off of your poor pooch why dont you do something that would be worth something and rescue a dog that someone thought it would be fun to breed its mother from a shelter before it gets euthanized.

I am responsible for that life from the day it is born until the day it dies of old age. I keep in touch of all my pups that I sell and at the end of the year I don't make any money. I spend more on my dogs then I make from my pups. You are welcome to visit any time and see for yourself. I also rescue dogs and find good homes for them.

Cool it with the hate, people. With small, man made dogs like a Chihuahua, you have to help with the birth or both mom and pup might die. She did what was necessary for both mother and pup by helping out.
@riplilkim The placenta is high in protein and contains Oxytocin to help the females uterus contract so the pups will be born closer together, as well as having her uterus go back to it's original size faster & also helps the female produce milk faster for the pups. I have to make sure all the placentas come out, any left would put my dogs at risk for toxaemia.

What you are referring to are the unhealthy breeding of runts to other runts from every litter, producing small unhealthy dogs. That term is used so breeders can justify the unhealthy bloodline they produce. I breed European line Yorshire's & AKC Chihuahua's of which no litters needed help birthing. Not once! Some small dogs do need Cesarean section, due to improper Sir size bred with Dam.

@triceey07 My females eat a lot when pregnant, I feed them puppy food, I feed my dogs a dog food that is called "Now". It has NO fillers or animal bi-products in it. The first ingredient is meat, veggies & fruit, it has NO grain in it. When my females get closer to their due date, I make them special dog food with ground roast, flax seed, sweet potatoes and more veggies. My females love it. After the pups are born I hand feed them in bed.

I have never bred the small breeds for fear of losing the Mom. Is there a reason you where not allowing the Mom to tend her pups? Is it a small bred thing? Have you lost babies before?

I have even had one female that gave birth to her pups 5 days early and she didn't even take the sake of the pups or lick them, if I was there I could have tried to save them. I have been breeding for over 17 years and know you have to be there to help the females.
@angelinbluejeans855 Many breach pups die if they aren't helped out. Dogs that have a round head and not an oval head tend to get stuck more. When a placenta comes out with the pup, I have to get the sack off ASAP or it will suffocate. If the sack is birth and the pup is stuck in the birth canal time is very important & if I don't get it out, it will die.

I have been breeding for over 17 years and my parents also bred Chihuahuas, so I know what I am doing. To all of you that understand that pain is part of live & any animal or human goes through pain while giving birth. Have Four children and I went through 6 months of pain before my babies were born, but my labour was horrid. But I not for one moment believe I shouldn't have had them. Every owner of my dogs thank me so much for giving them the wonderful gift of a Chihuahua.

This was the most infuriating thing I have EVER seen. This is absolutely APPALLING. I am responsible for that life from the day it is born until the day it dies of old age. I keep in touch of all my pups that I sell and at the end of the year I don't make any money. I spend more on my dogs then I make from my pups. You are welcome to visit any time and see for yourself. I also rescue dogs and find good homes for them.

@riplilkim The placenta is high in protein and contains Oxytocin to help the females uterus contract so the pups will be born closer together, as well as having her uterus go back to it's original size faster & also helps the female produce milk faster for the pups. I have to make sure all the placentas come out, any left would put my dogs at risk for toxaemia.

What you are referring to are the unhealthy breeding of runts to other runts from every litter, producing small unhealthy dogs. That term is used so breeders can justify the unhealthy bloodline they produce. I breed European line Yorshire's & AKC Chihuahua's of which no litters needed help birthing. Not once! Some small dogs do need Cesarean section, due to improper Sir size bred with Dam.

@triceey07 My females eat a lot when pregnant, I feed them puppy food, I feed my dogs a dog food that is called "Now". It has NO fillers or animal bi-products in it. The first ingredient is meat, veggies & fruit, it has NO grain in it. When my females get closer to their due date, I make them special dog food with ground roast, flax seed, sweet potatoes and more veggies. My females love it. After the pups are born I hand feed them in bed.

I have even had one female that gave birth to her pups 5 days early and she didn't even take the sake of the pups or lick them, if I was there I could have tried to save them. I have been breeding for over 17 years and know you have to be there to help the females.

@angelinbluejeans855 Many breach pups die if they aren't helped out. Dogs that have a round head and not an oval head tend to get stuck more. When a placenta comes out with the pup, I have to get the sack off ASAP or it will suffocate. If the sack is birth and the pup is stuck in the birth canal time is very important & if I don't get it out, it will die.

I have been breeding for over 17 years and my parents also bred Chihuahuas, so I know what I am doing. To all of you that understand that pain is part of live & any animal or human goes through pain while giving birth. Have Four children and I went through 6 months of pain before my babies were born, but my labour was horrid. But I not for one moment believe I shouldn't have had them. Every owner of my dogs thank me so much for giving them the wonderful gift of a Chihuahua.

He's actually my dog, and Zildjian is a very healthy 5 month old boy. My vet is amazed with his health, the vet compliments JonesChihuahuas every time we go there. If it wasn't for JonesChihuahuas, Zildjian wouldn't be here. Don't judge someone before you actually know that person. Her dogs love her, as do mine. She's a wonderful person.

@fantabulousK nobody forced the dog to eat the placenta.The dog does because it's instinct, Just like when you touch fire,nobody teaches you to pull your finger away when it burns.You just know too because its instinct and the dog doesn't have to see its kids first,just like a baby human,when its born it get weighed,and checked. And dog don't need a whelping crate to give birth. a dog just has to be comfortable to give birth, then she can place them in the whelping crate after the first feeding.

This was the most infuriating thing I have EVER seen. This is absolutely APPALLING.
