I want to know how you guys got the Time travel effects and especially the working Scarabs into Avalanche. The time travel was probably a video editing software, but which one?

And then the Scarabs- was that a mod, or a separate clip that you laid over, or what?

@SasoChicken the time travelling effects were actually done using (I think) After Effects CS3 - though I was not there for the editing of those shots personally, so I can't be sure.

As I've stated many times elsewhere, the scarabs were overlaid from another shot taken from the campaign ;)

@Beankers we don't have a dev-kit, and even if we did I think we would need to know how to edit the software (i.e Halo 3 itself) to make use of it in that way :) anything that isn't where it would normally be has been doctored into the shot using video editing.

No mods were involved in making this video - we don't know how to do them. Almost every shot with something in it that isn't normally available in-game has been superimposed into the shot using a combination of effects, including green-screens and rotoscopes.

2. When is the next one?

Even we aren't sure yet - stay tuned ;)

@B1AM3vST0SCH Compositing, basically they took video of the ships and cut them out from the background, then they inserted the cut-out footage into their avalanche footage, cutting along things like cliffs and walls so it would look like the ship went behind them. Lots of rotoscoping and masking.

@iTzCHEEZ3 the room isn't actually directly available. We used pan-cam in theatre mode on one of the single player missions to find the room, which was used in one of the cutscenes. After getting the room shots we cut and pasted people into each shot, essentially.
