The exact same thing happened to me when my mom basically forced me to take depo provera. up to that point in my life I was actually a average weight person and very athletic. I gained like 40 pounds in 3 months.

You said you used Depoprovera shots as birth control, right? Hormonal birth control has been proven to weakened the bones of women taking them. I wasn't on bc, but I was on similar drugs and it's caused me a lot of problems in my life.

Also, I have cartilage fragments in my knee and was supposed to get surgery to remove them, but the surgeons scheduling times were shady, so I passed up on that. almost 8 years later, and I rarely get any trouble from my knees.

Sadly, I have no remedies. I've had Crohn's disease since I was 13, but haven't been on medication for more than 4 days out of a year since 2006. I definitely don't take care of myself well at all, but I do try to limit the amount of medication I put in my body to rarely ever, and I use my own judgment and not just the doctors word. So far, that has helped quite well, although I'm not sure what's in store in the future as I get older (I just turned 25 a week ago).

I love my soul food. I love meats and rice. I also love my sweets, Cake's pies. Gotta be homemade sweets tho. Not into the grocery store sweets. It's the SOUTH in me. Love, Love, Love my ice cold Pepsi or Coke as well. Prefer PEPSI tho...lol

Hello and Hi you have a very interesting life. I heard that you have arthritic knees. My sister had somewhat a similar problem. If you don't mind (please don't get offended) I would like to recommend this exercise called Callanectics. My sister does it and she too is over weight. Please check it out. @tazamack Yeah, alotta guys are outta shape, too, today ...More and more are becoming obese, and many are TOO small for their size (not eating right) ...I always say that these guys, today, are saggin and wearing these loose clothes, because underneath, their just skin-and-bones (that's just their way of trying to still look "tough") ...Back in the day, guys seemed to be more built, and taller (like my big brothers) ...Perhaps this is because because Big Mama's gone (no more "food for the SOUL")

Birth control shots work in benefit for some sistas partiularly the ones thats bony wit lil breast and ass, cause this one chick i know was like that she took that BC and had a figure 8 shape, and she had this flat stomach and huge poke out like buffie booty just a smaller versions of buffy booty.
