I do agree to all those who are saying that the chain is cuttable, however no one did actually wrote how long will take to cut it!! I understand that need 77" bolt cutter, some nitrogen... do you reckon this is going be that easy for thieves to free the bike despite you leave the chain off the ground, shortener a bit and put around the swingarm?
sure ure chain may be cut proof... but you lock... is not pick proof.. if i were stealing bikes i would just lock pick open the locks.. fuck tryin to angle grind those chains.
dont just chain up your back wheel because someone who knows what there are doing will remove the back wheel within a couple of minutes and will just leave u with a useless wheel. :(
Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but you should get your bike close to the wall as possible. Then put the end link through another link in the chain to shorten it , so both the lock and chain are off the floor. The sleeve will not shred when you cut it as we have had the reverse side coated. The wheel will prevent the anchor being attacked and the chain being snug will prevent the bike from being moved. Job done!
if i wanted to take the bike I would leave rear wheel chained on place and take the motorbike anyway. Remember always put the chain through the frame of the motorbike, cheers
i looked like a cbf and i agree but i would too if i had the money i have an rs50 and rg125wolf and i brought a long thick chucky chain n chain both off them and chain most off my 50cc and the ankerd it and not the 125 and the 125 got stolen :(
i have it now but it stolen revcoverd but it soo fucked
It takes a long time with a hacksaw and no bolt croppers can cut it. You need a noisy angle grinderd to do it. Its all about making them go look for a softer target.
You have spent over a £100 on a chain and not secured it to your bike properly. well at least from the video that's how its looks, because you haven't put the chain through the bike frame and you should have it suspended from the floor.
Also try to take some of the slack up off of the chain. You do not want the chain to be on the floor as it gives the theives some leverage to apply extra force when using bolt croppers. I know the chain is bolt cropper resistant, but better to be safe. Also my last comment below. All they have to do is pick up the bike withouit the rear wheel and load it into a van.
I like to see then try cut the Almax Series III chain with bolt clippers.. It'll be really entertaining to watch! Take it you haven't seen the SolidSecure video on here??
If you read my post correctly you would have seen I wrote"I know the chain is bolt cropper resistant" I have seen the video's. I have the series 4 and have respect for Almax chains. You have not read both of my post's correctly and misunderstood them! The advice I have given is good.Take it or leave it.
No, I agree with macmacr1. He said that he knows its bolt cropper resistant but it's not 100% definitely certain, if you know what I mean. What if some sicko comes in a van with some ridiculous 60" croppers. :P and there's 17 of them hanging off it with an extension pole. lol. That'd be near impossible to balance if it was off the floor!
If you really want to secure your bike you MUST MUST pass the chain through the swing arm, then through the rear wheel. If you don't it will only take a few sec's to remove the rear wheel and take the bike, leaving you with just the rear wheel! The theiving bastards will then replace the wheel from another bike.
Maybe my english is not that good..But i dont understand how it would be more secure when putting the chain through the swingarm. If the thieves remove the rear wheel it is still the same ?
I said to put the chain through the swingarm because he has a ground anchor. If you dont do this the thief just undoes one bolt on the rear swingarm and takes the rear wheel off leaving your rear wheel & chain on the floor, they then carry the bike away.If you put the chain through the swingarm the rear wheel cannot be pulled away from the bike & because of the ground anchor the bike cannot be carried away. It is all chained together.I hope this helps.
mate why are you putting it through the wheel? no point having that kit (i've got the same) if you're gonna put it through the wheel! thread it through the swingarm if you can, or round over the seat and underneath into a tight loop.
Trust me mate if a thief really wanted your bike, they would take it by any means necessary. Get yourself a disc lock with a built in alarm, without cutting the disc or taking the front wheel off. Thieves don't have many options.
Nice chain and stuff but i would just take your wheel off after I brought my own. Just something to think about. The point of the chain is not to be the strongest in the world but to make it to much work to get and move on.
Do not trust this company, they remove all feedbacks that dos not praise there over priced, over weight, ship anchor chain. notice the effort they put into attacking other manufacturers chains and the lack of effort attacking there's.... lets see how long it takes fatter lard ass to remove this!!!!
over 140 pound thats expensive for a lock plus a diamond blade disc would get through that easy but u need electrizity plus i think someones bound to hear them or are they
To really secure your bike, you should keep the lock off the ground to prevent it being smashed with a sledge. Also thread the chain through the bike frame. Thief can simply remove the rear wheel and throw the bike in a van. Nice lock and chain, though.
Uncroppable by hand?!! They have hand bolt cutters that are 72" and have a jaw opening of one inch. I lost my keys to my squire mc4/6 chain for my quad, had to call the FD for help. Cut through entire chain in 3 sec. Nothing is safe from a thief.
It was a huge pair of bolt cutters about 72 inches long. the jaws alone were 10 inches wide and a little over an inch thick. I think they were made for cutting rebar.
There is no such thing is 72 cutters! 42" is the largest and record are the best make. As for the MC4/6 it can be cropped by hand with 42" record croppers in under a min. We mangaged to hand crop one for ITV last year in under 2 seconds.
No, I am not kidding! If you check our video out we are using 42" Irwin Record croppers as used by Sold Secure. If you made them 72" long you would need to be 8' tall to use them. I am sure you know that you must place one handle on the floor, the handle would end up being above head height. Unless you been watching films where they cut chains with one hand on each handle? Due to effort needed you would need the strength of Dr David Banner when he's angry, and arms longer than Stretch Armstrong!
I know what I saw. I don't think they are commercially available. They may have been custom made. The point is, they were 72" long and the firefighter used them easily. i am finished with this conversation. thank you
@bluemotrax ye it wont, but he meant you first put the chain in bolt cutter and someone else hits the cutter while you squeeze, you will get quite alot force that way
How do you intend to haul it around? But you carry on deluding yourself that this as any other chain will save your bike. In the grown up world they call this a false sense of security.
no offense dude, but a couple wacks against that wall and that anchor would come right out, should have anchored it into a fresh mold of concrete

Which diameter chain is this?
Will an "ABLOY PL 362" CEN grade 6 (15mm boron closed shackle) padlock fit on this version or on the other diameter chain almax make?
I already have 1 of these and looking for a chain as good as almax make to fit on it.
