  • Kristina the slyther...hufflepuff :P

  • like honestly i dont think i can name 50 real books

  • Why are you a Slytherin?! :O

  • I love how you caught up.... it really made me laugh.

  • Beautiful! I love your commitment to winning. Kudos.

  • i just currently finished just ella by margaret peterson haddix i must say it was the best book i've ever read

  • Would you get mad at me if I told you that over last summer (10-ish weeks) I read 53 books? None of which were shorter than the 3rd Harry Potter book?

  • You should've read Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox.

  • I like were willy went. Book it theater read it at my school since it is a band book. Oh willy such a good swimmer he is.

  • this was posted on my birthday!

  • *giggles* where willy went

  • -_-'

  • All Children Books Have AWESOME "In Your Pants" Jokes.

You Didn't, Forget To Be Awesome. ^^

  • what is this book challenge?

  • she challenged herself to read 50 books in 2008

  • Guthrie would be the best boyfriend. PERFECTO.

  • i totally agree.

  • the very beginning was at the center house place in seattle. the food court place.

  • Wow. I really should keep a count of the books I read, since I usually end up going "Oh, I've read that" everytime someone picks up a book. I'd love to do that challenge next year, but by then I'll be studying English Lit. at uni, so really that'd be cheating.

  • You read blood and chocolate! that scarred me, personally. :-P

you've got some great books on there!

  • I see your year, like mine, was full of John Green goodness.

33 is still a number to be quite proud of. I only read about 15, so ya got me beat.

  • you read some of my favorite books this year!

My favorite book when I was little was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Bloomability is my favorite book ever, even though it's a children's book. I am/was in love with Guthrie.

  • Guthrie was always so amazing.

    :)

  • haha my name is also Kristina!

funny, but that was a funny video!:D

  • Lulz, I feel sorry for you. The librarian must have been judging you as you checked out those books xD

  • ahaha thats really clever!

  • aw Kristina! You rock!

  • hahaha, yay childrens books:)

  • omg i LOVE clouding with a chance of meatballs!! ahh such a cool book!

i think i've read about 50 books... i only kept track of the books i read over the summer...and that was 30.

    yeah, im a nerd =P

  • Yeah; thoses books SO count. Me and my friends were talking about the very hungry caterpiller the other day; such a good book. =]

  • Let me just say, you've inspired me to read 50 books in 2009.

  • you should read 'bella at midnight' by diane stanley! it is a really good book that i read along with just ella and the lovely bones! [although you have seem to have read those 2 books already!]

  • where willy went?! someone tell me what that was!

  • Interestingly enough, I did 50 books as well this year, and...

my 50th book was Paper Towns.

    :) dftba~

  • ME TOO!

  • you know i love kids books i should so go do that :)

  • Was Beadle of the Bard Amazing? What edition did you read?

  • Lol, when i first saw this video, i thought it sed "Kristina reads red robes" haha...

  • omg kristina, that book "cloudy with a chance of meatballs" i had when i was little... i'm sure it's still around my house somewhere, anyways the other day i could not for the life of me remember the title! and i was sad, because it was one of my favorites. Thanks for jogging my memory!

  • YAY VERY HUNGRY CATERPILER!!! that is my all time favorite book ever. i wanna read it really bad. oh and YAY SLYTHERIN!!!!!!!!

  • I related so well to your childhood experience of going to the library, that's exactly how I was!

  • Kristina, you've inspired me to do the same thing that your doing, and next year, I'm reading 50 books by Januray 1st, 2010. I love reading, but all I've read for about the last 5 years is Harry Potter and Twilight, so I've decided to "expand my book vocabulary" and read read read, and you're like 75% responsible for that.

    So, thanks.

  • Kristina is my favorite! no offense to the others. now i feel bad...

  • *sighs* I luv Kristina!!!

  • How is is possible that you get more awesome every week? Sorry I missed your blog tv show.

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS KRISTINA

and when's your next blogTV I missed it :'(

  • Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs = love.

  • Hey Kristina, I was just wondering, you know on your intro, on your okemon card why is decreasing world suck only worth TEN POINTS?

  • Over winter break, I decided to catch up on my own book challenge, which was to read as many books as I did last year (92), which clearly isn't going to happen as I'm on book number 48, and that's counting the one I started rereading on Chapter 6. But anyway, I always get too many books and this was no exception since I ended up checking out...35 books for a 4 week break. *sigh* I am so overly optimistic.

  • aahah my friend says i look just like you.

  • I have one question.... if anyone can answer, how do you edit (like cut out a piece of the clip, or adding a video in the video..) on a digital camera?

  • thats so funny! i go to the library at least 3 times a week and all of the librarians know my name. when they see me coming their all like " oh no, shes BACK!!". its so cool.

  • Eric CARLE ftw!

  • Don't you just love the kids chairs at Seattle Center? I know I do!

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was an amazing book.

  • JOHN: QUESTION: is being a writer like having homework everyday?

  • yes it counts :D:D:D!

  • Kristina:

since you've read nick and norah's infinite playlist, I can tip you with another book by david levithan that I qabsolutely LOVED. it is called boy meets boy, not hard to reed, supercute and really inspiring.

    go nerdfighter!! :D

P.S: can you please tell me if you are going to read i, have read it or else? :)

  • Doood, I LOVE your pink tote! Where did you get it?!?!?!

  • Children's books was so what I was going to do if I didn't make 50! (hehehehe)

I am currently at 39 and have work so I think I will have to hunt up some childrens books

  • willy went in my pants... of course...

  • Did Skinny Bitch turn you vegan?

  • Hahaha! I love children's books!! I recognize most of them from my childhood as well.

And I don't think reading children's books is cheating. I'm pretty sure you never specified what level of books you have to read.

  • I've read 1, 3, 4, and have yet to read 15!

Whoo go Kristina! Smart way to get back on track! ;]

  • the hungry caterpilla is the best fucking book ever!

  • those are some of the best books EVER!

  • I have read almost

    all of those books.

    :]

    ps.

    your comforter is amazing.

    :]

  • I think I am in love with you kristina! Your so fit n lovely

  • #1: We have the same phone EEeeee

    #2: I <3 CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS.

    #3: You are such a cheater :)

  • lol Well you weren't specific on what kind and how long they had to be! So you're really not cheating. ;D *ZING*

  • Are they going to put up a video from the mp3 project? All the ones on their channel now are awesome, though I haven't been able to participate in one yet.

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS! I used to love that book . . . just had to get that out there. It seems like your picture-book reading session is bringing out a lot of nostalgia in the comments! :-)

  • OMG I've always wanted to participate in the MP3 challenge!!! I'm so jealous

  • OMG Improv Everywhere!

That officially makes you 100% COOLER!

    I love the MP3 Project :)

  • It was a blast. :)

  • Giraffes can't dance (in your pants)

Sorry, it had to be said :P

    Jen xxx

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar? No way!! That was my favourite book when I was little!

  • nice booklist :) I think I've got to read some ot these books too...

  • :O The Very Hungry Caterpillar! <33333

  • One of my favorites! <33

  • I set out to read 100 books this year, it's a new years resolution I've tried to complete twice before. So far I'm almost at 91, because I couldn't bring myself to cheat and have therefore read big bricksized books.

  • hungry caterpillar ftw!

    x

  • Booo! Cheater!

    I'm at 41 books. =]

But I have three weeks of Christmas vacation and two 14 hour car drives before the end of the year, so hopefully I'll get done.

    Good luck!

  • i love eats shoots and leaves it owns !!!!

  • Only 50, wow. I have easily done that or more since January.

  • People set goals for themselves that are reasonable. I also go to school full time, work part time, make videos once a week, and have a social life.

  • There really is no way for me to take back what I said, but I assure you that I did not mean it in a bad way. I just read really fast. (Twilight series in 4 days because you recommended it) My apologies.

Keep up what you are doing, being that busy and in school at the same time is the only thing that kept me from dropping out. I worked full time, went to class full time, headed a major engineering society and managed to have a great social life. College gets boring unless you keep occupied.

  • I used to read really fast and then I got lazy with reading and now it takes longer than it used to for me to read stuff now. I think my writing skills also decreased too which makes me sad. I'm planning on getting back to my reading speed by reading a lot of books.

  • I'm on book 50 now..

  • I was only allowed to take out 4 books each time I went to the library :(

  • I know!! I was only allowed take 3 :(

  • is that what I think it is on the cover of "Where Willy Went"?

  • haha is that The Hungry Caterpillar book?

    I love that book :D

  • u didnt mention me! :O

  • ???

  • u sed u wud try 2 mention me on BlogTV :( because i subbed u - but u lot r awesome so im glad i subbed u x

omg - i sound lyk im obsessed with uu lol

    luvage

  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was my favorite as a kid...

  • Eats, Shoots and Leaves is only amusing if you already understand punctuation.

But it would be a good Christmas stocking stuffer for a "punctuation pedant's party pack", along with a thick marker pen and a balaclava.

  • *big gasp of awesome* Go Away Big Green Monster is one of my Most favourite picture books!!!!! go Kristina!

  • "Little Monday", how cute is that! XD

So this is the Slytherine approach? Clever bastards. *laughs*

  • well you did say books... not novels...

  • I think I only got through 12 this year. I fail :[

  • I hope you finish your book challenge.

P.S.- I love Forever 21 and have that same bag.

  • I so count those ten books. What's a better way to catch up on a 50-book challenge than reading a bunch of 20-paged children's books? =P Haha.

I'm planning on doing my own 50-Book Challenge for 2009 and hopefully I'll succeed.

  • the caterpillar one was my favorite as a kid!

  • I am proud to say that I have read ALL of those books before.

  • Last time I checked book club, I was on #15.

    Sooooo far behind.

Luckily I've already read most of the booklist, so I don't have to work too hard to catch up.

    <3

  • Kristina, I've decided to tell you that you should listen to the band Hey Monday. Because you're Monday. And they're Monday. Um but they're also awesome.

Also I'm trying to read 50 too, as a copy cat and all. From one birthday to the next. And I'm failing. So bad! I blame working retail.

This had very little relevance, huh?

  • Giraffes can't dance, they just wrap them selves in Christmas lights and look really cool!

Why would we mention Elmo? ;)

  • I've read nearly all of the books on your list. Good choices.

    Great minds think alike! :)

  • I loved a lot of those books as a kid.

  • it snowed last week where i live

    . . .

    in texas

  • Where did Willy go??

  • In my pants...

  • 7 books left? Read HP!

  • They should count. They SHOULD count.

  • HAHA, I got to I *believe* 32? But I think I'm going to try the children's book thing. I LOVED There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed The Fly.

  • come on u can smile bigger than that at the end of your vid!! :-)

  • That's one way of getting back up to parr. Also did you know there's a sequel to "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs? It's called "Pickles to Pittsburgh".

  • I have to ask, why no "Where the wild things are" or "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" two great books.

  • Couldn't find them.

  • it is snowing here to0!

  • Improv Everywhere is amazing.

My friends here at EIU and I want to do

something like they do one day..

    maybe it will happen.

  • Thanks for posting all the books in the sidebar, it'll give me good ideas of what to read next.

    =]

  • i try to read 50 books during the school year, ever since 8th grade it's gotten more difficult.

  • "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" used to be one of my favorite books when I was younger.

  • ZOMG the very hungry caterpillar!!! I love you forever

Also, by the way, there is scientific proof that giraffes can, in fact, dance. :P

  • was girl at sea as good as thirteen little blue envelopes?

  • No.

    But still good.

  • And instead of reading, you WROTE a book in November. I think that should count as AT LEAST one book, because you DID read it after all.

  • THATS TRUE.

    I like you. Haha.

  • Thank you :)

    I like you too.

Oddly enough I'm not a Slytherin though, I'm a Hufflepuff. Hmmmmm.

  • When I just told my friend about your "reading challenge" she thought I meant mentally challenged and THAT'S why you were reading children's books. LOL.

  • Me and my mom have a book reading challenge too. Starting January 1st we have to read 1oo books in one year, and if we do were going to give eachother a $100 shopping spree, but to make it more challenging it can't be books we've read before, and we can't read books more than 3-4 grades under our reading level.

  • i am failing miserably as well, so i may just have to take your cue.

  • i love that raining meatball story!! thats just genious

  • You should read A Great and Terrible Beauty =)

  • LOVE that series!

  • I'm on to my 53rd book! Thanks for starting this bookclub thing, Kristina. I was reading about three books a year before this.

  • Good books. Good books.

  • I know I have read at least 35 books since October. Four of which were new.

And I /know/ I have read at least 25 new for the year, based on one borrowed trilogy I remember, and 22 books I bought. But beyond that.....

I should really get back into the habit of keeping a book journal of some sort.

  • oh i'm so jealous!

i've always wanted to go to improv everywhere!

  • Those books TOTALLY count! Sweet. Next semester I'm taking a Children's Lit class and I'm extremely excited about it.

  • Well, you never did limit your book challenge to novels so I guess we can accept that. It snowed in Houston, TX five days ago and it was awesome. And I made a video about it and in the beginning I say,"Today is awesome because it's snowing in Houston, Texas!" Bye!

  • I love the hungry catapilar book. Wooo.

  • I've [surprisingly] read a lot of those books on the list. Though, I've read a lot them before this year.

  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs?! I read that book when I was really little; I've been trying to remember the title for forever! Yay!

  • the hungry hungry catipliar=win, and i've got 30 more pages of choke left to read.

  • Is it good? Choke, that is.

  • It really is a great book. Depends on how much you can handle reading about sex because it is really descriptive.

  • it's good. not my favorite by him but still good. it's very...vulgar. haha. in a MOSTLY hilarious way =]

  • You have to love Washington.. yeah? lol..

  • ELMO!!!!!

  • haha that was awesome! hey, what'd you think of skinny bitch? are you vegetarian/vegan?

  • :O!!!! UBER CHEATER!!! hzaha i love the caterpillar one though...

  • did you read animal farm yet? it's nice and short. then again everyone has read that book XD

  • kristina, you make me smile with your books.

  • I'm glad!

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar!!! i love that book!

  • i have that same forever 21 bag! :]

  • awesome? no.

i live in minnesota... snow sucks.

i just spun out on the freeway last night on my way to work. not fun. and shoveling for over an hour in -7 degrees? brr.

but love the kids books. THAT's why this video is awesome.

  • agreed.

I work overnights and when I left work it was -8* and felt like -35* AND I spun out on the freeway..... oh, and one of the turn lanes was NOT plowed and I almost couldn't even LEAVE work! haha

But LOVE the Slytherin way to do the book challenge! I know how you feel, I used to read ALL the time then I hung out with friends, got the internet, had a child, got married, and got a full time job =(

    I miss books.....

  • take that back! you're lucky! i'm in jersey and its 65 degrees here...in the middle of december.

    thanks global warming. :(

  • I have read 23 of your 33 and a lot of those ten. I am on book 350, but I read from 2 to 8 hours a day.

  • for a second there... 10 books?! =D

    awesome, SNOW!

  • After my Literacy in Early Childhood Education class this past semester, I have gained a new appreciation for children's books. And after writing that, it's definitely a good thing I'm going to be a first grade teacher.

  • hahahhaha where willy went! i didnt no they actually had that at the library

  • love this :) i want to be in improv everywhere project

  • The very hungry caterpillar!

    I love that book!

By...eric carl? He wrote other child books I love. :)

  • you should read 13 resons why by jay asher

  • Eats, Shoots and Leaves is amazing.

  • sorry i couldn't stay for your whole blogtv show on friday! i caught the start though, and it was lovely to see you live <3

  • Thanks for coming at all! I was so pleased to see all of my friends stopping by; you guys are lovely. :)

  • Where willy went 'in my pants' xD

  • I have read like 2 of your 33 books lol.

    btw i have that phone!

  • my brother brought home that green monster book the other day from his school library!

  • Well, 33 full-length books and 10 picture books is still a pretty big number of books to read in less than one year. So kudos for that.

But surely not all of those are from YOUR childhood? I know you're young, but...Where Willy Went came out in 2005 and The Best Book to Read was released six months ago! :)

  • Well, maybe I was omitting a few. :)

  • kristina! you must read the forever in blue (the fourth summer of the sisterhood) by anne brashares!

  • now we're tied at the book challenge. I've been doing this for a couple years and this is the closest to 50 I've ever gotten. I know you want to read 50 and complete the challenge, but you should still look at it this was, you read 33 new novels (and 10 old picture books), and that kinda makes you bamf (but not Neville Longbottom bamf, sorry.)

  • i've seen soo many ppl reading tales of beedle the bard! hm, must be good. :]]

  • Seriously is that Willy book a sex education book? It kinda looks like the sort of thing you would use to explain the facts of life.

  • LOL i started laughing when you held up "Where Willy Went... In Your Pants!" XD

  • the hungry catepillar!

gah! that was my favorite, besides Stella Luna.

haha, I'm a Ravenclaw, and I didn't even do the challenge. But don't worry, I will in 2009!

  • oh gosh. The Lovely Bones. i think i like you more now. <3
