  • Sweet, just picked me up a C6 1911 and ready to go put some rounds through it. Can't wait!

  • My brother owns a gun store here in WA. state and deals with Para, Clot, SA, Kimber, and Smith. The Para's are the most returned due to jams, failure to feeds, and all around fit and finish issues.

  • is there a noticeable difference in 40 cal and 45 recoil? I want a para but not sure what cal

  • What does a "power extractor" do exactly?

  • @MaoludOmari it is twice the width of a traditional extractor it prevents stove piping

  • 16 in the chamber damn now thats a pepper box hahaha

  • The Paras are great just stay away from the mix guns unless you fire them before you buy them!!!!!

  • Kimber customer service is absolute shit, I will MEVER buy another $1,000.00 pistol from them or anything else for that matter and send my Kimber off to the company only to get it back more than 3 months later without the problem being resolved.

I strongly recommend that ANYONE looking for a 1911 style puistol look at one of the more reputable companies to do business with.

  • @usarmycaptainamerica Kimber has had problems with customer service, and quality control for about a year now. but if you can find a older Kimber I would snag it. the c/q of the older ones ( anything over a year) is top notch. But as of the last month or so, the customer service has improved.

  • @xeanth My friend, the Kimber I had my issues with was 6 years ago. The company in and of itself in not trustworthy.

The reviews I have seen with their new ultra-compact 9mm has ongoing issues.

My impression is that Kimber is a gun media darling and they get flattering reviews but the reality is that they are basically crap.

After I sold my Kimber I got a Wilson Protector and have been very happy with it.

    Cheers.

  • i use a para .45 Black Watch Companion.3.5 in barrell single stack.love it ! never jams, holds good groups and easy to conceal.the only con is its a little heavy for a conceal gun put i guess needs to handle those 230 grains rounds.will never sale it.i dont say this just because i work for para but because ive tried others.and they arent ugly like the cookie cutter models of today (:

  • @MultiGuitarman53 Awe.....you have a Gem. The LDA trigger system which I often have difficulty in explaining to the more 1911 traditionalist regarding the double action, The LDA's trigger fires at the 4 1/2 lbs on the 1st and everyshot where others have a heavier pull 1st then lighter at single action that trigger consistancy to me makes me more accurate at quicker shooting....add the spurless hammer, overall consistant function, glad to hear thanks for comment

  • AAAAAAHHHH, so many and long text's

  • I have heard that the ParaOrdinance .45 ACP Warthog jams alot. Go with the Sig Sauer P-220?

  • @microminiskirt I own both. Warthog hasent malfunctioned on me and Sigs are wonderful weapons that I have yet found any flaw that I can bitch about..if I could only find a woman like a Sig !!!

  • @jdwood43 THANKS.

  • Woooooo! It holds SIXTEEN in the chamber?! Kick- AHHUS!

  • im watchin this video and the dude says the small one was investment casted. i fuckin laughed

  • @taystew why?

  • @mkultra2300 NO Idea about taystew perhaps he's a mold maker uses vacuum preasure casting.. I invite all comments, experience or questions made this video after my experience with Kimber, I was forced to buy Kimber in all honesty. MY experience was unique perhaps, two compact 45's both flawed , (break in not a factor when imperfections are visible and weapon wont feed with factory suggested ammo and replacement mags.) tried Para and had succes. may try another Kimber

  • @jdwood43 So why not buy a Colt and have a pistol without flaws? I've yet to have problem with a Colt, aside from the occasional bad magazine. If you are going to drop the cash for a Kimber or Para, a Colt is right there in the same neighborhood. Your issues are not unique with Kimber and Para, I've reworked many over the years to make them function reliably. If not a Colt, try a Ruger or a S&W. But, to me, Colt is as good as it gets.

  • @GunBroker100 good luck finding a high-capacity colt

  • @SouthDFWrep For those or us, who place their shots consistently, "high cap" isn't necessary. High cap is nice if your going into a riot situation or would serve well on the battle field. But, for CCW or personal defense, not so much. I carry a compact .45 that is 6+1 and it has served me well. High cap mags make guns bulkier and harder to conceal. High cap also increases failure rates. Shot placement is what counts, all the ammo in the world is useless without accuracy.

  • @GunBroker100 thanks for the preachy editorial. I own both brands, and really like the Para's high capacity on a 1911 frame. They are very conceal-able weapons. They do have a bit wider grip profile, but once you get them under a shirt, that extra width on the grip is not as bad as you would think. If you really wanted punch and concealability, the 1911 frame is waaay off the best choice by anyway... even if you're considering accuracy. Throw on a jacket and there is no argument.

  • @SouthDFWrep Hmmm, so what do you recommend? I think a 45 cal 230 grn, Hydra-shok to be sufficient. Guns like most things boil down to personal preferences. That wider grip can be hard to conceal under a shirt in 100 degree weather. And a jacket? not in the summer. Looks odd. Single stacks are slimmer and don't outline as badly. The 1911 has 100 years if proven performance and reliability and still in production. Name another pistol that can make that claim.

  • @GunBroker100 right now, I'm carrying Speer Gold Dot 185 gr. GDHP. It's lighter and faster than the standard 220+ grain round. Strongly agree with you, no other comparisns & they do boil down to personal preferrence. If I can't wear clothes that comfortably conceal... like when it's hot, I carry a little Kel-Tec .32cal (slips in my pocket like money). :-) I've carried a Khar P40 and Glock 27, which are lighter, slimmer, conceal easier and carry more punch, but I keep coming back to my 1911's.

  • @SouthDFWrep The problem I have with rounds like the .40, 10mm, 357 Sig or Mag is over penetration. They will blow through an assailant and travel on to someone with no dog in the fight. If I have to shoot an attacker, I don't want to also shoot a bystander. Sure there are arguably "better" rounds, but, standing trial for involuntary manslaughter because your bullet kills a bystander is not the goal of CCW.. You have to keep the lawyers in mind, they live for cases like that. That's just me.

  • @GunBroker100 good to see that you know what you say and so far agree with everything you have said. I have a .357 S&W revolver that when I checked it's background it was issued to the Atlanta P.D. in 1985..can you imagine.? an old friend that put 24 years in El Paso carried a .44 special. guy retired found his heaven near Prescott AZ. three months heart failed....He was best shot , pick up anyone's weapon and bullet went where he wanted

  • @jdwood43 Thanks. I've been a gunsmith and custom rifle and pistol builder for over forty years. I have a few 4006's in the collection. Even a few old all steel Model 39's, one I converted to .40, it was not collector grade, so I figured I'd experiment. Works well and it's a conversation starter at the range. But I don't feed it any Plus P's. I haven't found a gun a don't like,, well,, I'm not a fan of Glock, but, that's just me. Given the number of other models, not liking one ain't bad, LOL!

  • @GunBroker100

so funny you being a gunsmith ...got a S&W model 37 airweight .38 spec.. extractor rod looks damaged and missing both side plate screws....

???? sorry had to ask ..gun has been damaged but due to previous owner and it's history want to repair and re-blue....(was wrapped in a meatball sandwich and tomato sauce eat away finish on cylinder) no joke .love your opinion.. perhaps post pic

  • @jdwood43 I'll check at the shop Monday. Is it a standard model or have the shrouded hammer? They came both ways. I ask because the screws are different. That's a first, why would he have wrapped it in a meatball sandwich? Never heard of a gun stored inside a sandwich. But, anymore nothing really surprises me, but, in a sandwich? That was different. LOL! I'll give the picture a try, can't promise, I haven't had the best luck getting pictures on or off the net.

  • @GunBroker100 South & GunB You both have said "personal preferrence" right on agree..Love my Colts and Springfield's single stack 1911's. But I will allways no matter what everytime take advantage of the benefit of having 16 rounds in my Para P-16 (.40s&w)you guys both said "personal prefference"...it comes from experience...6+1 is great 16+1 is the one if your not having fun. SouthDFW those Hydra Shock's are nasty thumpers my.40s&w180grain h.p. & 6gr of powder 1000fps great knock down.

  • @jdwood43 I have a load I run in my custom built 1911's. Keep in mind these are purpose built compacts, specially fortified to stand up to the load. 10.5 grain Bullseye powder, mag primers and 195 grain JHP @ 1150 fps using standard cases. Again, these are specially built pistols with integrated recoil buffers and ported barrels. The recoil is a bit heavier than that of a standard size 1911, but not much more. They have S.S. slides and internals on a custom machined titanium frame and barrel.

  • I just started a book by one of my favorite authors Michael Connelly called The Overlook.Main Harry Bosch is main character just read he carry's a Kimber Ulta Carry !....lol.....Recommend Connelly he wrote Bloodwork that was made into film with Clint Eastwood.. Good read.

  • ive got a para and it only jammed twice but it was my fault i hadnt cleanded it for a while and went shooting and it jammed theres been a 1000 rounds after that hasnt jammed since

  • Cant believe someone said a Taurus was better than a Kimber. The only thing wrong with a kimber is the factory magazines. Get wilson combat mags for them and you wont have jams. But Paras are still great guns. But Taurus are nothing but problems. The gun store i work at get more Taurus problems than any other guns. Dont let your one bad experience with kimber keep you from buying another.

  • @bulluck533 considering both of my $1300 Kimbers were factory defective and no matter how hard Kimbers customer service kept trying to blame it on reloads I never used, a Taurus looks damm good to me ...

  • @jdwood43 May i ask when you got these kimbers and what models they were?

  • @jdwood43 Taurus makes a great gun. I own 45 S&W, 45 Springfield Armory and a 40 Taurus and I have never had a single problem with my Taurus. I payed a little over $300 for it and it shoots just as accurate as my friends $1000 Kimber.

  • @jdwood43 I agree with you on Kimber being God-awful on customer service and having no QC at all. All they will ask you is, "HOW MANY ROUNDS HAVE YOU FIRED THROUGH IT". If your answer is less that 1000 rounds, they don't even want to talk to you. HEY PAL< if I have to fire 500+ rounds through your gun just to make it "reliable", maybe you should CHANGE THE WAY YOU MANUFACTURE YOUR PRODUCT juuuuust a tad. I've seen a Pro Raptor II Malfunction from round 1 to round 800+ in every mag!! JUNK JUNK!!

  • @bigboreguy AND THAT WAS IN WILSON COMBAT MAGS TOO PEOPLE, SO DON'T WRITE ME WITH THE 'YOU USED THE WRONG MAGS" ROUTINE!!!! JUNK! JUNK! JUNK!

  • @bigboreguy excellent commentl............say it like you mean it .......u have to admit, when you try and try and try (3times) like my taurus 24/7 you could see the imperferctions on ramp, chamber even barell, my trainee got his same day she thinks its best gun and weapon since 36 '

"D"cups factory said it was my slide retaining clip and said would be about $120 I ASKED about the machining he mumbled some shit sooooooooooo BRAND NEW 1800-CAN U SAY KEEP IT .

  • @bigboreguy Obviously you don't know good quality guns lol. You have to shoot 500+ rounds through it because when well built guns come from the factory they are built with super tight specifications and shooting it breaks it in, much like you don't build a racing engine and then immediate take it the drag and run it wide open all night. You should go through a 1,000 mile break in period first. Same concept...

  • @oxside04 Believe me sir, I know exactly what a quality gun is. I also know about break-in periods for all types of hyper-expensive custom guns. BUT, if I can get a high quality 1911 from Ruger, pay less that half the price of Kimber, Springfield Loaded Model, etc. and STILL get a gun more accurate than I am, ready to go out the box. So, you buy a Kimber for around 1100, then you have to put almost $350 of ammo through it, JUST SO IT CAN BE DEPENDED ON? Some people need to feel special I guess..

  • @oxside04 Also, my buddy that had the Kimber talked to their so-called customer service 4 times. It was always the same thing...duh, you gotta shoot more. Blah blah. SO, after he had close to 800 rounds through it, it STILL malfunctioned almost every magazine. He called a 5th time, and The guy on the phone this time said that he shouldn't have had to shoot it that much. He sent it in and they actually fixed it. So, like I said, BAD QC. Kimber makes a good 1911, just not consistently. Good Day..

  • @bigboreguy Now this I can believe. As I told the OP, maybe I just got lucky and my Kimber was perfect from the factory. I like the looks of my gun. To compare, I have a 96 Z28 Camaro with nothing but problems and have had 2 F-150's with no issues. Will I buy another Ford? Yes, as long it's a truck. Will I buy another Chevy? Probably not. Love the looks of the new Camaros but I drove one and don't like it. Everyone has different taste just don't discredit on taste alone. ;) Good day man.

  • @oxside04 like your logic in comparison to Ford and Chevy... weapons from Para have performed beyond my expectations."break-in" period ?. Owning some of the better quality weapons of different materials from Colt Gold Cup to H&K to Sig to Glock to Les Baer to Beretta If weapon can't cycle right out of the box with proper spec ammo and factory mag its damm hard to shoot 500 rounds thru it ..factory specs is best . lubrication and cleaning vital my kimbers were lemons

  • @jdwood43 To each his own, I have a Kimber Eclipse Custom II with Kimber mags. Ran thousands of rounds through the gun with Federal & Winchester ammo. Never had a miss fire, jam, stove pipe, or anything else go wrong(Using good ammo that is, I have shot reloads that miss fired but very rarely as only buy reloads from 1 person and I trust him). Maybe I just got lucky and the gun left the factory in perfect condition.

  • @oxside04 EXACTLY. You got one of the good ones, and I am glad you did.

  • @oxside04 Funny I made this vid in 2008. has been hit 214,000 times. to show i'm open minded I will be trying a new kimber full size 1911 shortly. Hearing better things about newer full size Kimbers. God what will happen if I end up loving it lol. Springfield EMP enhanced .45acp Compact also just purchased. sexy little compact.

  • @jdwood43 During the early to mid 2000's kimber had some quality issues but as of 2008 I have yet to hear any problems from them. I have worked at a gun store which sells them and we get nothing but great feed back. Yet once a week we get a taurus sent back. Not the 1911, but other models. We dont stock there 1911's because Rugers new one is wanted the most and is in the same price range.

  • @bulluck533 KIMBER HAS VERY BAD QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES!! They suck!

  • I own a ultra carry II. Its a great compact .45! Ive put approx. 600 rounds from hard ball to personal defense. Great ergonomics, no jams, accurate and expensive! No regrets on my purchase though.

  • @boutin99 Vote up for a fellow Ultra Carry II owner. I broke mine in with 800 rounds of 230 ball, mixed manufacture. I have put some little mods on it. Wilson extended slide stop, NHC MSH w/ Magwell, Kimber ambi safety (I want a Wilson pinned ambi though).

Mine jammed hard core with UMC and Winchester (FTF/not fully in battery) accuracy was mixed but still on the target, TulAmmo performed with no jams and the tightest groups. I've yet to try Federal, but my hopes are high.

  • @Reynard13Fuchs thank you for ammo info . this is helpful. They accused me of using reloads on my 2nd Ultra Carry II. shit....should of tried I couldnt get anything to work finnally gunsmith found reason and like a car i got a lemon..2 lemons.,UMC has not been a great mfg for me Tul is quality and please keep me updated .

    thanks much

  • @Reynard13Fuchs Im not sure how old your firearm is, but i had kimber put in a new extractor in after about 500 rounds. Now i have absolutely no FTF s. It eats and shits out everything!!! They did have some issues with their extractors but have obviously solved the malfunction. Worth lookin into.

  • I will not own a kimber, I have a Taurus pt1911 that shoots just as nice as any kimber I have fired. I would take my p14 over a kimber any day. I also have a s&w sw1911 if any did research on there fire arms they would know that s&w made frames and slides and other small parts for kimber up until 2001. I heard up until 2 years ago but dont know how true it is. so if you have a pre 2001 kimber you have a s&w 1911 basicly, i persanaly despise kimber, its like a lexus a over priced toyota.

  • @TheSquidgy04 LOL, love your analogy.Kimber was a small family buisness in Oregon that made wonderful rifles. Partner joined , hostile buy out moved to Yonkers and ............I tried Kimber, experience put me in your boat.

many reasons. I too have a Taurus 1911 that is a trusted consistant shooter. Para has given me the consistancy over the period of time that I trust it that ables me to focus better on the target not focusing on the last time weapon malfunctioned if that makes any sence

  • you're a lucky man if you got a warthog that doesn't jam.... i have one, i like it, but it does jam frequently (and most of them do based on research) i would never carry it for lack of reliability.

  • It's difficult to make an action-handgun for concealed carry in cal. 45! I think kimber succeeds quite well at it as opposed to Para-ordnance or Colt!

  • @wolfintheforest

thanks for comment ,yeah , its all personal experience , reason I made this video was my experience with Kimber and Para and experience with Kimber was only with 2 .small framed 45's experience with both as far as weapons ability to function was as horrible as way I was treated by kimber's customer service.

Para Warthog has performed very well and Colt officer's has been perfect.. just my experience, many have had opposite experience with Para and Kimber, this was mine..

  • your experience (with a certain weapon) depends on a lot of things : physical strenght, hand strength & way of holding, eye-hand coordination, shooting position etc...........! Some weapon manufacturers ( H&K, Springfield, Glock, Kimber) have reacted well to this by making high caliber handguns that adapt (fit) well to the user & his hands & shoulders and at the same time having a frame heavy enough to compensate for (upward) recoil! HK45 & sprngfield XD.45 are very good .45 action handguns.

  • If you guys are happy with what you have, that's all it matter.

  • I own a Kimber CDP Ultra (LG) ACP .45 is the best gun ever!! Never had a problem, cost more yes and only 7 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber... Why 14 rounds makes you feel safer? If you know how to shoot one d

  • Just a general comment about capacity in a carry pistol. I realize a lot of people feel more is better but this should be well thought out IMHO. For a daily carry a hi-cap pistol is heavier, wider and therefore inherently more problematic to carry. If you live in a warm climate where light clothing is the norm this issue is compounded. Look at the statistics for how many rds are shot in a defensive situation and you'll find unless you're in a battle field more than 6-7 rds is unnecessary.

  • Damn when I heard 16 in the chamber I got all excited ...lol

  • a very high quality sidearm, even now america still makes the best guitars and guns in the world. check out hiddenheatholsters for american made holsters, they are the best holster i have ever used for concealed carry and they have a size to conceal just about any size handgun.

  • Bought me a Para LTC .45. Shot a ton through it, not even a whisper of an issue with it. I like the ramped barrel power extractor and nice fat ejection port that came with it :D Those features dont usually come without extra cost.

  • @shkotay

yes, agree, also feel the .45 LTC is a great combination of capacity accuracy and power. I have total trust in my Para .45's ...

    thanks for comment !

  • @jdwood43 Crikey I like the .45 round :D Bought me a glock 21C .45 too. About half the weight and still the same recoil. I thought it was going to be a tinker toy that jumped out of my hands :O Handles damned nice though, I think I made the two very best choices available in the market for pistols. Unless I run em over with a tank I dont think I'll eve have an issue with either.

  • @shkotay , Very Very interesting as I JUST Bought Glock 21 and as you say , what a joy to shoot .The biggest surprise was the the 10mm Glock 20 same frame as 21 but again not nearly as much re-coil ..check out my video I was shooting 10mm with one hand just to prove this point. So many think the 10mm is so jumpy but love it. ..

was funny to see your comment on 21 . thats great. As you and I Agree...lately seems know one agrees on anything :)

    thanks.

  • @jdwood43 No prob, I am an admitted amatuer plinker and will post a vid of my firearms at some point. I figure Para and Glock made firearms that experienced professionals can use with all kinds of utility, and are yet "keep it simple stupid" enough for newbies like me. Already I have no problem making clean standard 20 yard shots with the Para but playing with the glocks sights are going to take a bit of practice. never worked with adjustable sights on a pistol before the last few months.

  • I was looking into getting either a Kimber ultra carry or the Para warthog. And I find more problems and complaints with the Para's than I do the kimbers and there more expensive because of the craftsmanship and the very high tolerances. Im not supporting them im just saying that why there not cheap. But one good thing about getting a Para the factory is here in Charlotte so I would think if I had a problem it shouldnt take to long to ship =) . Im really having a hard time deciding

  • @jerry015

my experience was a rare one recieving two weaons in a row that were flawed.

Once my confidence is broke its broke when it comes to firearms, know many a shooter who swear by kimber

each Para I.ve owned have been excellent, What would be great Jerry is to go to gun range and test fire one of each may check w/local dealer .Please advise on what you get and thank you for comment.good luck.

  • @jerry015 FWIW I have owned a Kimber Ultra CDP and a Para Ordnance P14-45 for many years (>10) and find both of them quality side arms. If I had to choose one only it would be difficult but I would have to go with my Kimber. Actually it's a tough choice because my Kimber is for carry and my P14 is for competetion so they serve two very different purposes. The Kimber has always felt better in my hand but that's a personal choice. I doubt you will be disappointed with either one. Good Luck.

  • After many 1911s and their jams (Colts/Kimbers) I decided to try Para-Ordnance P14-45 limited and she is the best hands down .45 ever owned. Never jammed with great trigger and accuracy.

  • @tangledline

Agreed, Was just fireing mine , will be posting video on my 14-45 limited, P-16..40 cal and P-18 9mm havent had a lick of trouble look at my .40 cal it's very banged up and used and does it .

thanks for comment tangledline, like your username, as a boy my late father spent many hours untangleing rats nests I would create, wish I had his patience.

  • I was thinking about getting a kimber glad I found this . Plus Para is right across town from me maybe I should support the local brand.

  • lol

  • Love all the comments and very grateful to hear you all defend your type of weapon and experience that made you loyal to it,

Have read lots of comments on Colt, Springfield, Wilson, etc All excellent . I own as many Colts as Para's and use them in different aplications purely due to capacity.

If I need to be accurate purley target, time no factor Colt Combat Commander, When need 15 rounds in a 1911 the PARA is a joy.best of everything....

  • LOVE the paras but i like the silver and black. My opinion: yours doesn't look that good.

  • Hell ya I love that post F*ck kimber I'm a COLT and SIG man my self but any one who sales a 1911 for 1200 and up is jest trying to make profit!!! It's no SIG us SF and seals use SIG for a resson and colt has been used buy the US army and still is to this day and at half the price... Kimber is jest riping people off they make duble the profit what happend to colt? People when cheap and got GLOCKs now look what u cheap kids did...

  • @JOHNNYSschool

thank you for your direct comment... Yeah we agree on Sig as well think i did a video on there evolution. I was blessed to meet an old retired cop from Texas who lots considered an opionated s.o.b. He was somehow patient and very encouraging to me as he instructed me anyway when bought my Kimber and would'nt extract he got all pissed saying if you want 1911 to be compact use one John Browning designed. Colt officer's 45 acp. compact ..old works perfect

  • I had a Kimber ultra carry CDP and it was a piece of shit. The extractor kept rotating in the weapon, and I sent it to be fixed, 16 weeks later and many phone calls I finally got the weapon back and the problem had not been fixed.

I sold the weapon and bought a Wilson 45.

I would strongly encourage people to look to another 45 maker out there and NEVER buy a Kimber as their quality and and customer service are absolute shit.

  • @usarmycaptainamerica

    thank you for your input...

Wow USA you had almost exact experience I had. Loved it when customer service after gun was returned to with same problem acused me of using reloads..The piece of steal cost way too much for that behavior.

  • @thegamechiken It has to be double stack lol otherwise the mag would be protruding quite a bit.

  • I like the para warthog..but im not a fan of the finish that they put on it.. My local dealer had to send a few back because the finish was chipping off the brand new guns

  • @voonman26 FUNNY YOU JUST MENTIONED THAT , I as well have had some blemishing, faded areas on the finish on some of my blued Para's

  • Para's are great guns...only problem is the magizine springs..they need to use Wolff, it makes the difference..And I think Kimber is a scam..TRASH with with a pretty finish and grips..Colt is the way to go..

  • @carolinadare I agree with Colt Quality, own as many as I own Para's, just got a 10mm COLT DELTA GOLD CUP..SMOOTH

  • Both Kimber and Para Ordnance are about the same. If you like Canada get para if you like the U.S. get Kimber simple as that.

  • I have a Kimber .40 Ultra Carry 2001 model: I've never had a jam, ever. Period. Kimber is the best for the money. I can't believe he had a jam with a Kimber. I just can't. Ask around

  • Wow, your experience with the Kimber has been opposite of mine. I had a Kimber Ultra Carry II and put hundreds of rounds through it with zero issues. I loved that gun. Wish I didn't have to sell it. Were all your problems during the break in period?

  • I have a Kimber Ultra Carry Crimson Trace 3" 45 Cal. never had a problem. This is one of if not the best hand gun I have ever owned. terry34668

  • Para doens't make a pisto; with a rail do they...

  • Kimber VS Para, please. Para not only makes a very mediocre product, but their customer service is some the worst in the business.

  • @hackman1911 Have you talked to those jackasses in New York?? I have, too many times..the girl is nice but the other are dicks..the black guy is a super dick.. All my para's have had the same problem, magizine springs, so I got wolff springs now no problem.. I have 4 kimbers and the only ones that are great guns are the poly-frame guns.. Kimbers are like Italian sports cars, they are expensive and look great but are trash..Buy and shoot Colt my 80 series GC is solid after 1000's of rounds..

  • Just out of curiosity, you said that you had a Kimber the same size as your warhawg (sp) and it jammed on you quite a bit. My question is, did you go through the break in procedure? Kimber states that their 1911's have to go through a break in period, and in that period it's normal to have FTE's FTF's. Just wondering.

  • @DRMS4LYFE Dude you sound just like one of those jackasses in Yonkers..You read from the same card..Break in procedure..are you joking..for the money they charge they sould do the finish work so you do not have to waste your money on some break-in BS...

  • @carolinadare I agree they should do the finish work for you so that you don't have to waste time and money on some break-in BS. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I'm just asking a question based on that so called "card" that by the way came directly from Kimber that states that they need to "break-in."

But if your trying to insult me, maybe you SHOULD learn to spell a little better. Nothing could make you look more stupid than when you try to insult someone and then get the spelling incorrect.

  • @DRMS4LYFE Not trying to insult you..sorry about the spelling it was late at night and was so worked-up about people loving Kimber because of the name..I have a Tactical Pro that needs to go back to NY because the grip bushing are shot out after less then 1000 rounds..I would rather go to the dentist then talk to those pricks in Yonkers..

  • "If you want the best pistol, get a 1911.If you want the best 1911,choose a Kimber"

  • @Slic3R1 Kimber=overpriced piece of junk!! I have owned both and Para is much better in my opinion. Nothing but problems with the Kimber. I guess every manufacturer puts out a few lemons.

  • @buttloco Damn, my Ultra Carry II was probably the best gun I ever owned. Compact, accurate, exceedingly manageable recoil on a gun so small with a large caliber, and I never had a single FTF, FTE, FTB, etc. There is a break in period with the Kimbers, did you have any problems after it?

  • great guns has para fixed mag release button yet love mine but the button hits on holstering sometimes so i don't carry that one much yes i have looked into other holstering methods with no satisfaction .............is there anybody down range............

  • could you make a review viedo of the stainless P12-.45 showing clip ejection opening the slide and how the gun chambers cause i like that one

  • @ICE346

Hi ICE346, I posted my video :HOME PROECTION; and shoot the P-12 as well as a few others and show various models of what I consider to be good personal defensae weapons..should be right above this post, since this video , i have the H&K Compact in .40 cal that is a dream. i offer you my assistance and please feel free to contact me on any questions you may have .

    jeff

  • @ICE346 hey ICE346 I made a video of the Para P14 45ACP jst fyi.

  • How does the warthog shoot (accuracy )? I am looking for a new conceal carry.

  • @frankgon4

I like the sites. In this frame and in a .45 it tok a bit of practice but i'm accurate as well as confident

  • You said you compact kimber you had jammed alot on you. Are you sure thats not because kimbers have a long break in period? Up from 500-1000 rounds.

  • @smurfstomper131

I tried two think they were Ultra Carry then Ultra Carry II both over $1000 both 3" barells both had feeding problems, guns would never cycle a whole magazine,

tried various commercial ammo was accused of shooting re-loads ?

I am going to try .45 Super carry Pro looks like a incredible weapon that is if it is on california list and Kimber has them in stock. do you know anything about these ?

    thanks for comment.

  • @jdwood43 I am not a gun smith but i have noticed that all 1911's that have problems are the ones with aluminum frames, I have a Kimber eclipse pro model with a steel frame and have never had a problem with it, and its 3 years old. My brother has the Kimber eclipse ultra and has never had a problem and his is 9 years old. When I set out to buy a 1911 I always make sure the frame is steel before I look at any thing else. Just one shooters opinion.

  • @vtwin1910

Thanks for your input, and I concur that steel instead of aluminum may be a factor.

my issues were both with compact ultra 's.. an old mentor, friend, teacher who had vaste exprerince with 1911's used to bitrch about the whole concept of a 1911 in a compact version, he was gone before I got my Warthog.May be time to try a full size like yours.

  • @jdwood43 I've been collecting and shooting handguns for 25 years now,and finally bought an alloy framed kimber ultra raptor last week. The para's are a very good 1911 clone from my experience shooting the p14 and the hawg I own. After 1000 or so rounds the little kimbers alloy frame has not been a negative factor. This pistol is accurate too,VERY ACCURATE! I like steel frames too,but this new kimber has me rethinking the all steel thing, kinda like glocks did when they used polymer.Time will tell.

  • Ive been looking at the PO G I Expert. Can you do a Review on this gun in 45 ACP for me? They look to be a good gun and my budget works with the $500-$550 price range. Anyone know the Deal with these pistols. I just want a BASIC 1911A1 no bells and no Whistles! Thanks Saty Safe!

  • high capacity bigger grip?

  • Is that Para 40 single or double action? I went looking at Para's today. I like um quite a bit. I just had not heard too much about them.

  • @augeight Para has developed there LDA (light double action) they are excellent.

John M. Brownings 1911 design is excellent, if there is a weak point Its extractor, which can lose tension over time, and cause prolems, Para innovated its exclusive PXT™ Power Extractor. which ables me to use RE-loads and a gun consistant that has no mis--- feeds

I have never experienced any misfeeds that were a result of the operation of the pistol...love em check out P-18 9mm Hi-cap .

    thank you for comment

  • made in canada? I guess its close enough, still nice guns tho.

  • new $600 to $800 depending on model approx

  • how much is a gun?

  • Have a P-13 with a one piece Hogue fingergrip and LOVE it!!! Good intel thnx.

  • I noticed the full-size pistols look like they have adjustable sights, though I couldn't find adjustable sights on a P14 on the website. Did you have them added after buying them or am I just blind?

  • @trumpetdood yeah, on P-12, P-14 and P-16 and P-18-9 all came with adjustable rear sights, came standard.

  • @jdwood43 Thank ya buddy, now I won't have to buy sights. You just gave me $120 worth of good news.

  • Since Colt originally made the 1911 by John Browning, how do they compare?

  • tough question I own more Colts than Para's and would have to be careful when comparing .

both companies mfr weapons that I have fired and trusted for years, Para's P-16 .40cal has been fired almost as much as my Colt .45 officers model. Would never part with either, like the higher capacity with Para's

  • i have 4 kimbers and they never jam

  • @CREWDOG289 Not saying that yours do but I have known 3 people with Kimber 1911 and every single one of them I have seen jam. TO me that is a bad record one of them had to send it in 2 times before he told them to keep it and went with a different firearm.

  • the kimbers i own have all been broken in properly with a good bit of ball ammo put thru them at the range, most of the time it's not the gun but the magazine and the way the person holds it. before i got the kimbers i bought two springfields one compact and one champion. they both were so sad i couldnt chamber a single round in them i sent them back to springfield and they would do nothing. I gave them away i was so mad, with a warning, they wont work when the time they are needed.

  • Also i have to admit it i have owned every pistol worth owning but browning, and nothing ever chambered more smoothly than a glock, it took awhile for me to admit it since i love 1911 style pistols. i have my 1911s in my safe for "that day" and i carry my glock 23 with lasermax for protection cause "i know" it will work . And glock refurbished it for me after hurricane katrina for free when i told them i was in the military (under 9 ft of water for 7 days on my dresser) Para is good.

  • Very nice guns, Thanks for the vid.

  • thanks for comment.

  • @xXBallistic82Xx thank you kindly

  • hows the kick on that warthog? must kick like a mule, i have the kimber pro carry and its real comfortable to shoot, and I hardly notice the recoil, and back on target quickly, is it the same with the warthog? thanks

  • The Warthog is a bit squirly but very manageable. I had trouble with Kimbers Ultra Carry II

Here's specs on Warthog Barrel Length :3"

    Capacity :10 + 1

    Safety :Grip safety

    Grips :Black Synthetic

    Sights :3-Dot

    Weight :24 oz

    Finish :Alloy Regal

  • @jdwood43 Kimber should change there name to Jam-O-matic 1911

  • Para-Ordnance Mfg. Inc. was based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. All of my Paras are from Canada and were imported through Fort Lauderdale, FL. The new entity is Para-USA and that is based in Charlotte, NC. The Hawg family of Para's are awesome! I prefer the Big Hawg myself but The 9 should be a great pistolfor you none the less.

  • another Para fan great ! thank you for your input and info .

when i posted this video i had no idea of the huge amount of individuals share the passion for specific weapons, models and mfg's as I do.

This passion is awesome and creates an arena to promote ideas and opinions we all as shooters can share and benefit from.

  • I stand corrected!! heh thanks for correction. And here i thought i was correcting you. I am new to firearms and still a little lacking in the knowledge department. I am just looking for a small carry gun which is why i think that hawg9 with its 12+1 capacity would fit my needs.. I do the like larger Para models alot. Since im only 22 and my collection is already 10 firearms strong i am sure Para will have a staple spot in my collection. Especially since im only 2hours from Charlotte :)

  • I too have been a fan of Para for nearly 20 years. I feel their power extractor, LDA trigger and ergonomic high capacity frame put them in a class all by themselves. Looking at a hi-cap para from the rear it is barely wider than a traditional single stack 1911. My only regret is that theese fine pistols are Canadien. Para Customer Service is as good as their pistols. I had a small problem and they fixxed it quickly. Keep up the props on those Paras!

  • @Nitnyline Para Ordnance is a company based in charlotte North Carolina. not anywhere close to canadian. good try tho. i love these guns other then the fact that they have an idiot safety. but other then that GREAT gun. i plan to purchase the Hawg 9 soon

  • Hope you can obtain the Hawg 9 soon. great weapon.

    thanks for input

  • @jdwood43

I would be careful with the carry 9, it has an LDA, double action only, only looks like a 1911, not operated as one.one of my friends got one and has had nothing but FTF's and stovepipes, and he is a marine so he knows his way around a weapon, just a suggestion, try shooting one before you sink 900 bucks into it. I would look at glock 26 or a sig 239(single stack) good luck.

  • I kind of dig that P12 sub-compaq, but not so much the extra safety measures. I'm a bigger fan of my Sig 229 that comes with a de-cocker and a second safety between your ears.

  • I have to agree w/you i have a few Sig's 220 .45 2 tone with crimson lazer sites enjoy the de-cocker's convinience and love Sigs balance and smooth consistant action. .

guy asked me other day if i was going to be stranded on desert isle what hangun and what rifle would i choose to bring ?

thinkin M14 with thirty 20 round mags can't decide handgun either Sig, or Glock, or P-16 Para or Colt Commander ugh......or actually my 5.7 F.N with four 20 round mags is a nasty litte bastard..you ?

  • Im sorry your right, its 12+1. Restricted Capacity is what i was thinking of. my baddddd.

  • funny , mags that came in box from factory were 11 +1

  • Great vid! However, think the P12 is ll in the mag one in the chamber.. Other then that I love watching your stuff!

  • thanks for comment, allways need input.

  • kimbers come really tight from the factory. before any kimber can be considered practical it needs to go through a break in faze. to me that means 500 rounds of a variety of shooting styles. the 1911 was not designed to be such a tight gun, though it doesn't mean it can't function with the tighter tolerences.

  • thanks Foster for comment, agree with you, I was able to fire a Kimber created for LAPD and was shocked at the difference.trigger was perfect. I own a few 1911 style pistols and yes have learned tolerence can cause certain issues , why i can't shoot my re-loads thru my Para's but many others eat em up.

  • @jdwood43

    Mags?

Maybe your Para doesn't like how your magazine is feeding your reloads.

Some 1911s are picky with the kinds of mags you use with them.

  • @jdwood43

Ah, I see your Paras use non-standard mags.

    Hmm.

  • the .45's do , except WARTHOG and the P-16 .40

will only work with Factory mags.

  • just my experience, just got a glock 20 that bastard cycles my 10mm reloads without a hickup.

  • going up to range right now , i'll show you problem I have with P-16 maybe you can help me out , i loaded a ton of .40 S&W and work great in my 4006 S&W My Springfield XD, My Browning practical , Glock 22, even my Ruger PC4 .40 CAL Carbine. .i'll show you

    and really

  • sence when has tightness been impractical? ive had my Kimber pro carry II for years and keep it tight i change the guide spring between every 1000-1200 rds. Only jam i had was with the a carry mag and only happened once and i changed the spring in that. great guns no matter how hard u look.

  • Your guide spring has nothing to really do with tightness. most of the fitting goes into the slide/frame fit.

  • was surprised difference with 22lb spring in my 10mm Delta Elite..
