This is my guess for the new gameplay mode... you have a given time limit such as 30min or w/e.. and you have to get through the whole level within the time period while being attacked by zombie hordes at times. Teams can get put on leader boards for completing that level in the lowest time.

I think maybe it's like resident evil 5 mercenaries where you gotta score loads of points and get put on a different leaderboard.. or maybe it's something else
