Football is a game based in the speed, tha accuracy, and the hability to dodge your opponent. If you got hit it's a foul, and depending the hit you can get a punishment, and that's why the "professional" players do all this theater. It's part of the game. If you play Football on the streets, you get hit, fall, and stand again.
Both are great sports, with different rules. Don't compare sports, just play them if you like, if you don't just don't play it.

There is a place in a rugby team for anyone of any size or shape. Short, broad, heavy and powerful, that's no's 1, 2 and 3. Very tall, 6'8" that's no's 4 and 5. The flankers, 6 and 7 are quite big but faster. No 8 is the no 8. The 9 is vice-admiral and 10 is the admiral. The rest, the 'girls' are fast and elusive in open play. Enjoy :)

@Alexvision07 Really, the only thing you need to know about rugby is that it is a martial sport. The hits are real, the effort is real and the genius is real. There is a place in a rugby team for anyone of any size or shape. Short, broad, heavy and powerful, that's no's 1, 2 and 3. Very tall, 6'8" that's no's 4 and 5. The flankers, 6 and 7 are quite big but faster. No 8 is the no 8. The 9 is vice-admiral and 10 is the admiral. The rest, the 'girls' are fast and elusive in open play. Enjoy :)

its not really the sport that rugby players hate so much about football. its the fact that when a football player gets a tiny clip on the leg they roll about on the floor for a minute or 2, get some "magic water" pored on it and they're suddenly fine again. where as a rugby player gets slammed down by a pure muscle 14 stone guy running at him and then gets straight back up again to play the game, despite being in pain, probably winded and occasionally bleeding!! football players need to man up!!

the differance between rugby and football is that there is more disapline in rugby than there is in football, every decision a ref makes in football one team surrounds the ref effing and blinding, now im not saying by any means that no one swears or surrounds the ref in rugby but it doesnt happen as often. Yes both sports are pretty basic in it's overall structure, but rugby is technically alot simpler than football...it's easier to control a ball with our hands than your feet after all.
Rugby just fools itself into thinking it's complex coz of all the additional convoluted rules it has (see the nonsensical offside rule, scrums, line-outs etc)
Like i said there's nothing wrong with simplicity, maybe when rugby gets over itself & realizes this it might become more fun to play & watch one day..
