first off the definition of witchcraft varies from place to place. here yes they are pagan it has nothing to do with the devil. in Nigeria it has little to do with the devil and more to do with evil spirits. these people also do not necessarily know that they are witches according to these peoples beliefs. her point about the kids being scapegoats is totally on the money. the kids cannot fight for them selves so they are targeted by a more powerful group for all their ills. BIRTHCONTROL FTW
I am not sure why you are so rude in your reply, but that is irrelevant to our discussion. I first want to let you know that I am not a Christian, or an adherent to any other faith. I simply believe that a faith, incapable of reason or thought or judgment, should not be blamed for homicide. Rather, I put the blame on people. Further, The bible does not expressly or implicitly condone killing witches. You should really site the biblical source from which you quoted,I could not find it.
It may be the case that the majority of Nigerians do not subscribe to these beliefs, but it is also the case that all Nigerians have failed to stop these practices and that almost all Nigerians are doing nothing at all to help these children. Face it. This is primitive and disgusting. If there are witches, and you can tell them by the deaths they cause, then I wonder why these idiots haven't realized that the pastors are the witches.
To the lady reporting, there are many highly educated poeple across the globe that believe in such nonsense as witches and demons etc........so your claim that this murderous practice is going on due to a lack of education is contradicted by several points of evidence.
Accusing children of witchcraft and then murdering them is not connected to Christianity, it's connected to people acting immorally--Christianity did not kill those kids, people did.
"Accusing children of witchcraft is not connected to Christianity"
Pardon me, but that's a really fucking stupid statement to make. The people making these accusations are CHRISTIANS, and the reason they are making these accusations is because the BIBLE tells them not to "suffer a witch to live". When a pastor orders a child to be killed on the authority of the Bible, Christianity is unquestionably the crucial motivating factor.
Agree with the guys sentiment but not the way it was put across, typical brash, loud mouth, im right, condescending Amercia, the flag was a nice touch behind him when he spoke. for a better put together piecec which is more frank and informative check channel4's documentary about child witchcraft in Nigeria, disgusting, there is no such thing as a moderate religion!!
Lol. No, really this with craft thing is sick. How can these people call themselves christians and then go on and pull this. Their setting a double standard.
I've seen one exorcism where the priest mixed his own blood, African mercury, and pure alcohol in a glass and made a little boy drink it to "poison" the witch that possess him. Remember, Africa is the one continent with the most cases of AIDS in the world. The rituals that Nigerian Christian priests use really are some fucked up methods to "eliminate witches."
What religion is not fuced up in Africa. Catholism, christianity, islam, witchraft, voodoo....they mix them all together and do evil things because of it. People got the true original essence of christianity all wrong.
@royalsteven No "twisting" was necessary. If by "God's word," you mean the Bible, it is already explicitly evil. The Bible says, clearly, "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." They were simply doing what the book said.
u fucking dipshits.....why dont u idiots talk about something else for a change....why do u idiots decide to pry into wat is not ur fucking concern..making us nigerians look like the worst ppl on earth...why dont u fucking remove the tree from ur eyes b4 u remove the speck of wood from ours....fucking bastards....get a life
This report is typical of a lot of the commentary on African cultures. This practice, abhorrent as it is, occurs in small, rural, and remote areas of Nigeria. The vast majority of Nigerians, though religious, do not subscribe to these beliefs.
The article quoted in this video states that 15,000 Nigerian children have been accused of witchcraft in the last 10 years. If that number is even close to accurate, then, sorry, but "it only happens in remote areas" just doesn't fucking cut it.
If your math is half as good as your vulgar language, you'd get my point. 15,000 children/10 years = 1500/year = 125/month = ~4 /day. And this is assuming the stats are accurate, which I guarantee you is impossible to verify. The Nigerian population exceeds 150 million. Also, "accused of witchcraft" can range from verbal accusations to the extremes we see in this video. I loathe this practice and find it despicable, but PLEASE educate yourself before you run your mouth!
You're sitting there implying that accusing 4 Nigerian children of witchcraft every day is an acceptable statistic...and I'M the one who needs an education?
hornetobiker: How is it arrogant? Where do they deny the Salem witch trials? How does our culture at one point having the same problem hundred of years ago make it impossible to criticize people who are doing it today? How does what happened centuries ago automatically discredit what they're saying? If everyone's opinion on a certain activity were immediately invalidated because their own culture did that at one point, nobody could criticize anyone.
What the hell are you talking about? Did you even listen? Do you really believe the Salem witch trials were over REAL witches? If so, you're full of shit... plain and simple. No need for further discussion.
ha ha ha ha, you fuckin muppet boy. Do you think the cunts in salem were right OR beleived what they were allleging? Get back in your cot you psychotic yank wanker.
Jackass? FFS son stop reflecting. And No, you cannot compare less informed folk about how much better you are than them simply because you have more info you fucking retard. You have the benefit of a modern education. They do not so are on the same level as you were 200 years ago. Are you really this retarded/ignorant or just too arrogant to admit you're wrong? ha ha ha ha.
And this is all without taking in to account your bizarre christians doctrines. D'ya wanna go there next buoay?
horento, I'm not sure you're even aware of what I'm arguing. I'm arguing against superstition and religion, and in favor of science and reason. Just as Cenk pointed out in this video. I'm aware they don't have the benefit of modern education.
I'm aware their ignorance is in part due to a lack of education, but does that mean we can't criticize religion's role in that part of the world?
You don't even have a clear line of argument. You're just blindly throwing random attacks.
hornetobiker: You can't give people a free pass just because they're ignorant. Otherwise, you would have to excuse racists, because they've probably been taught their whole lives that black people are inferior. It doesn't make what they say or do any less wrong.
hornetobiker: The 17th century isn't "recent history." And if your idiom worked, nobody would be able to criticize anyone, as every culture in the world has some skeletons in its closet. So, there could be genocide going on, and nobody would be able to say a word, because almost every country in the world has committed genocide at some point. The point at which it become hypocrisy should be when a country is STILL DOING something.
hornetobiked: Something you seem to be forgetting is that the Salem witch trials happened centuries ago, this is an issue that is still happening today.
Why am I sick? Because I believe in a higher power that rejects evil? Because I believe in that higher power taking on human form to attempt to save humanity from that evil? I'm not going to argue my faith, but I'd hope you folks who tend to preach "tolerance" would learn some yourselves.
This isn't about faith or religion - it's a situation where someone in power is crazy, and sees murder as a means to attain more power. That person or people just happen to use faith as their reasoning.
Wiggymaster: To the contrary, this has everything to do with faith and religion. Without faith in a religion that says that witches do exist, and that they should be put to death, these people would not be killing their children. It has nothing to do with a mere quest for power. Who is gaining power here?
Wiggymaster: Even if it were all about power, if the people's minds weren't so shackled with religion, they would see right through the reasoning of whoever this person is supposed to be. The fact that religion can be used as tool for power, that the whole aspect of "faith" shuts down people's reasoning abilities so that the follow tyrants, is damning in and of itself.
Speaking of Matthew: 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
I think what he's saying is a more good vs evil thing. Meaning following HIS beliefs can put you at odds with your own family even.I've met people in this situation before. They have neo-conserative types that treat them like black sheep because they follow Jesus' teachings.Like they don't hate minorities, or want wars, etc. I think he's saying he's drawing the line in the sand. So if you are one of his people stand up for his teachings of love and forgiveness in the face of your own family.
What do you think he's saying? Just cuz he uses the word sword it doesn't mean he wants us to kill our family members. I think its pretty clear that he's just saying if you wanna call yourself christian you have to follow his teachings faithfully. Even if people ridicule or punish you for it. Look at the man's teachings as a whole. "Turn the other cheek" Love your neighbor, then put what he's saying into the proper context.
He's most likely both. Those terms refer to two different things. Agnostic meaning not able to KNOW for certain if gods exist. And atheist meaning he does not BELIEVE gods exists.
I am both and I'd venture to say that he is as well.
I just found out about this and I am Pretty much livid. I am wiccan. And I thought we LEARNED from a little thing....what was it....a handy little event called...The Salem Witch Trials. Another case of the practice of wicca being misrepresented just to suit Evangelical progress. Oh it doesnt matter if wicca is being given a bad name, as Long as it makes christianity look good. I need to go meditate, I will light a candle for the children lost to adult and religious stupidity
I am Nigerian and I believe a lot of what is being in vid.
I take issue though with the this meaning that we need to fight only for science (which is automatically truth).
People can misuse anything for their own benefit including science.
Hitler used science not religion to promote some pretty aweful ideas.
America still surfers from affect of slave trade. Many supporters justified what was being down by some of the 'science' of evolution. Many of the strongest opponents where Christians.
freakydaydream: Hitler didn't use science, he used a gross mis-interpretation of what even at that time was an outdated pseudo-science, which bore more resemblance to the principles of dog breeding, which has been around for thousands of years, than any contemporary science. And Hitler did use religion, and was perhaps compelled by it. The Holocaust could have never happened without traditional European antisemitism, which was introduced by the Catholic church.
freakydream: Social Darwinism is an egregious misunderstanding of what Darwin actually wrote, and it was not used until the turn of the 20th century, about 30 years after slavery ended in America. Before the Civil War, most of the people defending slavery used Biblical passages about the curse of Ham, stating that since God cursed Ham and all of his descendants, and since all black people were descended from Ham, that anything bad that happened to them was divinely sanctioned.
one of the laws of power is to create a cult like following. religions use this law to its utmost extreme. once you have established the following you create a us vs them dicodemy. and once that is established you can do whatever you want.
people have been burned at the stake, riped apart, killed in war, blown up, etc... for the cult of jesus christ. now they can add force fed acid to death.
I'm glad you raised this issue, and slightly exposed your own slight prejudices 1:53 and 4:53 :D
Rather than highlighting 'the lack of education', them 'being so poor and everything is going wrong in their life' and 'having one less mouth to feed'...
if you really want to produce outstanding journalism that will take you into the mainstream, you should be looking at HOW this should be overcome.
Preach it brotha! Totally agree, drop the nonsense people! We are all humans, let's work together and use the best tools we have to find the truth and better ourselves. Hail mutha fuckin science!
These guys are trying to spin the whole issue of religion by the actions of some crazy jungle fuckers in Africa. Exploitation happens. Superstitions do not equal religion.
in reply to hash1212: I have but one thing to say about you implying that it only happens to crazy jungle people. Salem Witch Trials. Here in the States. Have fun reading about it.
Anything that is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. Religion is the shit stain on mother natures 6000 year old g-string. Science Builds plains and religion flys them into buildings
"Any model we create does not describe the universe, it merely says what our brains are capable of saying"
I don't know what I am doing watching your videos, I am a conservative and you are a liberal, though I agree with you too much. You guys are so great, always so smart and right!
If u can't afford to get a good educatation as many people in this country one won't know any better. I am speaking on behalf of the families not the greed filled priest
Once again, blaming religion won't solve it, as it is itself a creation by human being. The day they band religion, people will just find another pretext to gain fame and power.
Education is key if African states want to get out of poverty.
So "education" is the "key" to get African states out of poverty?
I see.
So it is only ignorance that keeps the African people starving in certain areas,is it?
How do you figure that academics,or community service indoctrination is going to feed them?
Maybe if they learn some algebra,or Darwin theory,or even some highlights from quantum physics, them maybe the crops will just spring up all around them, and the livestock will return to wander free through the plains waiting to be eaten?
First of all, I did not use the word "only". If you have an opinion, say it. Don't misquote people and accuse them in the same time.
The fact that you question if education can aid African states out of poverty is simply sign of your shortsightedness of its power. Today's world powers once have great thinkers, scientists, philosophers to advance society.
You probably heard about the proverb "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life"
What actually enrages me about religion are those who cherry-pick things out of it to back up their own sick doings. What's worse is that there are morons out there who actually believe them!
I know in a lot of African tribes used to abandon their babies in the woods if the Shaman told parents the child was cursed. They also used to do this if the child was born disabled.
A religion's beliefs can be twisted and corrupted by the idea itself i don't believe is corrosive, hateful and harmful the same way as atheism isn't a godless wasteland. Not being an apologist this is just what i believe, catch you later.
You & Richard Dawkins would disagree on that point i think, but to me forcing people to say their beliefs are a sham and that it's a hurtful, hateful instution seems wrong, it will take time before the world really does fully embrace science and logic. I in no way condone the terrible acts commited in the name of religions but there is good in them, and i believe if an understanding between science and religion can be made, the world would be better.
Hey Cenk i respect you deeply but i got to disagree that all forms of religion inevitably lead people to be killed, fundamentalism and zealotry are problems, but i subscribe to the belief religions are lofty ideals of peace it's religious followers, that are the problem. We should always strive for knowledge and truth but lets not become as fundamental as the religious extremists when trying to bring forth logic, science & reasoning. I believe science & religion can live together in harmony.
What? We were debating over whether terrorists should have nukes, or only responsible, First World countries...
America always holds back, which may or may not be why other countries don't respect our threats of punishment anymore...That, and we tend to "Fight Harder, Not Smarter"
I agree, there is no responsible use, therefore we should do our damnedest to keep them out of more and more hands. The more Third Worlders that have them, the more one of them might feel "oppressed" and USE them!
As to history, if we really wanted to inflict casualties, we would not hit military production, we would've hit Tokyo, Kyoto, and the other POPULATION centers!
Cenk should chill about what people believe though, comparing the belief in Gnomes and Faeries, in Iceland, to psychotic evil mother fuckers murdering children is a little harsh and one DOESN'T lead to the other those Christian Pastors are strait up evil fuckers religion or no religion who are willing to exploit others for personal gain this is not something that only the religious do Christians have been persecuting witches for 1000 years all over the world obviously these kids are not witches
Gretchen said she wasn't defending Moslems, phobos, but you sound like you ONLY want to slam Christians, and even then, not mainstream Christians, but the ones willing to leave bastions of Christianity and enter nations where they'll soak up the teachings, but get everything backwards, and/or mixed with the local superstitions...
Why not a word about/against any other reilgion-cult-superstition?
like i said dominate the discussion that has nothing to do with ISLAM, with rants against ISLAM... i am Slamming Christians because they are always worth of slamming, anyone who MURDERS children in the name of there religion ( especially when its just to fill there own pockets ) deserves far more than just criticism ( like DEATH maybe ) and its not like there is only a small minority of murderous child exploiting Christians in the world, they are getting away with it because the can...
Moslems do the same shit, with child soldiers, child suicide bombers, and criminals hiding behind children...
Or doesn't THAT deserve death?
As to filling their own pockets, yes, charlatans deserve death, but in case you didn't notice, America has a charlatan in charge right now, so our hands are tied!
BTW, if you know a more efficient way for our soldiers to tell the difference between terrorists and innocents, PLEASE let them know!
I quite like some of the stuff TYT does, but this video is a joke. You say science is that and that, facts are this and that, but (and I speak as 100% athiest here) BUT, there are things in this world that we cannot explain, there are things that you may pour scorn onto that actually do exist, there are things that you simply have not seen or felt thus can't understand. You speak of ignorance, but remember, when you point your finger, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you. Black magic is real
I think you should point out what part of Nigeria this is happening. These are the same set of people who gave up their own in slavery for money. This is not all of Nigeria. I read this happened in the Niger Delta that is NOT all of Nigeria.
'If 1 trillion times out of 1 trillion a plane I was on blew up and you saw me on the same plane...' This isn't analogous to the abiogenesis probability because you haven't included selection bias. To correct this, your argument would have to go 'If you knew I had been on a thousand planes that had exploded, but because only the ones that end in disaster get reported, you don't know how many planes I've been on and landed safely, would you be scared to get on a plane with me?'
its not wrong but i'm not gonna correct you. All that is ever accomplished with these debates is I loose hours of my life. Get a calculus based statistics book and figure out why you are wrong. I no longer care to enlighten you.
Realistically, me as an 18 year old student in California can't at this point do much about religious zealots in Nigeria.
There are a lot of injustices in the world.
What I think, is most effective, is educating people (especially early on) about what's right, acceptance, etc.
When it comes to that, there is quite a lot that can be done. I am a teacher's aide at an elementary school. Ironically, I'm watching Glenn Beck's tirade against volunteering.
If you're sick of the people, who preach multiculturalism and tolerance but who don't live it or practice it and dont have to deal with it. If you're sick of being dictated to by these people, that you should be the one to live with the problems of mass-immigration. If you're sick of the lies and hypocrisy. Then it's time to wake up and voice your opposition!
Yes, keep following your "intelligence" scientist that say coffee is bad... wait, this week they say it's good. Oh, eggs..., yes, eggs. Are they bad today or are your scientist gonna say they're good, now? LMAO - there was even a report of a scientist telling us that air is good for us. Yes, good for you, tubby, good for you. hahaha
there are positives and negatives associated with almost everything. coffee - gives you energy, increases alertness, tastes good; it also causes heart palpitations and stains your teeth. good or bad? - most things in this world aren't black and white. secondly, remember to distinguish between simple hypothesis and theories in peer reviewed scientific journals. the latter is official, most of the "science" you see in the news is just speculation.
Kai - You scoff at science yet almost everything you use in your home came about through science. So I'm assuming you will reject everything,,this computer included and run off to live in a cave somewhere? Remember,,you have to walk to get there.
That's the funny thing about it you got some religious zealots in the middle east that would use certain inventions of science for their "religious purposes".I guess science and religion do come together for a cause.
Seriously, though, Tquiet, you're right, Iran says that having nukes is part of their "Haq"--a religious "right" (And in America, the religious right are blamed for everything!), while Pakistan believes that it's every Moslem's "Duty" to have nukes to threaten and wipe out the nonbelievers...
And of course, none of it would've been possible if Iran hadn't stolen--I'm sorry, "Nationalized"--Britain's oil-drilling machinery almost a century ago!
wow EPGAH if you want actual discussion... do not send messages to my actual Youtube page so people do not see what a sick fuck you are? and no Christians did not rape me or my dog... did Muslim's rape you or your dog? also keep in mind the ONLY people to use NUKES on people were so called Christians in the USA, if Christians and Jews have Nukes why not Muslims??
No the US used nukes to send a message to the USSR the fact it killed hundreds of thousands of Japanese was neither here nor there for the US. Hence why most people fall about laughing when the US tries to lecture others, it's like a mass murder lecturing a pick pocket on morality.
We told Japan to surrender twice, warned them of the nuke, dropped pamphlets in the target zone to tell them to leave, nuked once, asked for surrender again, dropped MORE pamphlets on the other target, waited, THEN dropped another nuke...What part of that didn't we give sufficient warning? Why did it take TWO nukes to break Japan's arrogance?
And seeing that, why do other countries need to do their own tests? They could steal the test data while they're stealing nuke plans, or just ask Japanese
As for analogies, yours seems a little backwards...The closest I can come is a cop trying to prevent yet ANOTHER crazed thug from picking up a gun and shooting it off just because he can.
Again, the last nuclear test was done by North Korea, and it caused Tsunami and flooding in Philippines.
If you want to lecture a country, why not send a message to China about their interference in Darfur? Why is America the target of flagellation and scorn--until someone needs help?
because the USA says 1 thing of non interferance yet gives money to terrorists to destabalize other nations? China doesnt give a shit, the US should be better then that.
i knew right from the beginning those people just wanted to have their children killed. i have no faith for that part of the world.

first off the definition of witchcraft varies from place to place. here yes they are pagan it has nothing to do with the devil. in Nigeria it has little to do with the devil and more to do with evil spirits. these people also do not necessarily know that they are witches according to these peoples beliefs. her point about the kids being scapegoats is totally on the money. the kids cannot fight for them selves so they are targeted by a more powerful group for all their ills. BIRTHCONTROL FTW

Hello,
I am not sure why you are so rude in your reply, but that is irrelevant to our discussion.

If there are witches, and you can tell them by the deaths they cause, then I wonder why these idiots haven't realized that the pastors are the witches.

jujumen 1 year ago
Accusing children of witchcraft and then murdering them is not connected to Christianity, it's connected to people acting immorally--Christianity did not kill those kids, people did.
grabes1980 1 year ago
@grabes1980

@royalsteven No "twisting" was necessary. If by "God's word," you mean the Bible, it is already explicitly evil. The Bible says, clearly, "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." They were simply doing what the book said.

@dedamol
The article quoted in this video states that 15,000 Nigerian children have been accused of witchcraft in the last 10 years. If that number is even close to accurate, then, sorry, but "it only happens in remote areas" just doesn't fucking cut it.
garethac81 1 year ago
@garethac81
I loathe this practice and find it despicable, but PLEASE educate yourself before you run your mouth!
dedamol 1 year ago

You're sitting there implying that accusing 4 Nigerian children of witchcraft every day is an acceptable statistic...and I'M the one who needs an education?

What an arrogant broadcast. very disappointing. Do they think their culture was always as it is today? Check your own history. Salem for a start.
hornetobiker 2 years ago 2
hornetobiker: How is it arrogant? Where do they deny the Salem witch trials? How does our culture at one point having the same problem hundred of years ago make it impossible to criticize people who are doing it today? How does what happened centuries ago automatically discredit what they're saying? If everyone's opinion on a certain activity were immediately invalidated because their own culture did that at one point, nobody could criticize anyone.
yerk3 2 years ago
What the hell are you talking about? Did you even listen? Do you really believe the Salem witch trials were over REAL witches? If so, you're full of shit... plain and simple. No need for further discussion.

And this is all without taking in to account your bizarre christians doctrines. D'ya wanna go there next buoay?
hornetobiker 2 years ago
horento, I'm not sure you're even aware of what I'm arguing.
JackinOffJesus 2 years ago
hornetobiker: You can't give people a free pass just because they're ignorant. Otherwise, you would have to excuse racists, because they've probably been taught their whole lives that black people are inferior. It doesn't make what they say or do any less wrong.
yerk3 2 years ago 2
hornetobiker: The 17th century isn't "recent history." And if your idiom worked, nobody would be able to criticize anyone, as every culture in the world has some skeletons in its closet. So, there could be genocide going on, and nobody would be able to say a word, because almost every country in the world has committed genocide at some point. The point at which it become hypocrisy should be when a country is STILL DOING something.
yerk3 2 years ago
hornetobiked: Something you seem to be forgetting is that the Salem witch trials happened centuries ago, this is an issue that is still happening today.
yerk3 2 years ago
Why am I sick? Because I believe in a higher power that rejects evil? Because I believe in that higher power taking on human form to attempt to save humanity from that evil? I'm not going to argue my faith, but I'd hope you folks who tend to preach "tolerance" would learn some yourselves.
This isn't about faith or religion - it's a situation where someone in power is crazy, and sees murder as a means to attain more power. That person or people just happen to use faith as their reasoning.
Wiggymaster 2 years ago
Wiggymaster: To the contrary, this has everything to do with faith and religion. Without faith in a religion that says that witches do exist, and that they should be put to death, these people would not be killing their children. It has nothing to do with a mere quest for power. Who is gaining power here?
yerk3 2 years ago
Wiggymaster: Even if it were all about power, if the people's minds weren't so shackled with religion, they would see right through the reasoning of whoever this person is supposed to be. The fact that religion can be used as tool for power, that the whole aspect of "faith" shuts down people's reasoning abilities so that the follow tyrants, is damning in and of itself.

So if you are one of his people stand up for his teachings of love and forgiveness in the face of your own family.
bardoc13 2 years ago
What do you think he's saying? Just cuz he uses the word sword it doesn't mean he wants us to kill our family members. I think its pretty clear that he's just saying if you wanna call yourself christian you have to follow his teachings faithfully. Even if people ridicule or punish you for it. Look at the man's teachings as a whole. "Turn the other cheek" Love your neighbor, then put what he's saying into the proper context.

Many of the strongest opponents where Christians.
freakydaydream 2 years ago
freakydaydream: Hitler didn't use science, he used a gross mis-interpretation of what even at that time was an outdated pseudo-science, which bore more resemblance to the principles of dog breeding, which has been around for thousands of years, than any contemporary science. And Hitler did use religion, and was perhaps compelled by it. The Holocaust could have never happened without traditional European antisemitism, which was introduced by the Catholic church.
yerk3 2 years ago
freakydream: Social Darwinism is an egregious misunderstanding of what Darwin actually wrote, and it was not used until the turn of the 20th century, about 30 years after slavery ended in America. Before the Civil War, most of the people defending slavery used Biblical passages about the curse of Ham, stating that since God cursed Ham and all of his descendants, and since all black people were descended from Ham, that anything bad that happened to them was divinely sanctioned.
yerk3 2 years ago
freakydaydream: Some of the opponents of slavery were Christian, but so were most of the people who supported it. Lincoln was an atheist.

one of the laws of power is to create a cult like following. religions use this law to its utmost extreme. once you have established the following you create a us vs them dicodemy. and once that is established you can do whatever you want.

Education is key if African states want to get out of poverty.
bigboss025 2 years ago 2
So "education" is the "key" to get African states out of poverty?
I see.
So it is only ignorance that keeps the African people starving in certain areas,is it?
How do you figure that academics,or community service indoctrination is going to feed them?
Maybe if they learn some algebra,or Darwin theory,or even some highlights from quantum physics, them maybe the crops will just spring up all around them, and the livestock will return to wander free through the plains waiting to be eaten?
PunishedByJesus 2 years ago
First of all, I did not use the word "only". If you have an opinion, say it. Don't misquote people and accuse them in the same time.
The fact that you question if education can aid African states out of poverty is simply sign of your shortsightedness of its power. Today's world powers once have great thinkers, scientists, philosophers to advance society.

What I think, is most effective, is educating people (especially early on) about what's right, acceptance, etc.

Are you serious, Tquiet? i thought the cultists just PRAYED nukes and bioweapons into existence!
I also thought the oil came out of the ground more easily because of their cult, rather than, say, some scientific drill apparatus?
*SARCASM*!
EPGAH 2 years ago
Seriously, though, Tquiet, you're right, Iran says that having nukes is part of their "Haq"--a religious "right" (And in America, the religious right are blamed for everything!), while Pakistan believes that it's every Moslem's "Duty" to have nukes to threaten and wipe out the nonbelievers...
And of course, none of it would've been possible if Iran hadn't stolen--I'm sorry, "Nationalized"--Britain's oil-drilling machinery almost a century ago!
They'd still be violent tent-dwellers!

wow EPGAH if you want actual discussion... do not send messages to my actual Youtube page so people do not see what a sick fuck you are? and no Christians did not rape me or my dog... did Muslim's rape you or your dog? also keep in mind the ONLY people to use NUKES on people were so called Christians in the USA, if Christians and Jews have Nukes why not Muslims??
phoboskitty 2 years ago
We used nukes to prevent a long, drawn-out ground-war, like Vietnam or Iraq.
Moslems have suicide-bombers, so their cult clearly precludes fear of their own death.
And again, America bombed only a war-factory town and an enemy port city, AFTER Japan had done the famous sneak-attack on Pearl Harbor.
If they have done nothing wrong, they wouldn't need nukes nor to fear punishment.
We shouldn't let such a dangerous technology fall into the hands of a volatile cult, as they may USE it irresponsibly.

EPGAH 2 years ago
As for analogies, yours seems a little backwards...The closest I can come is a cop trying to prevent yet ANOTHER crazed thug from picking up a gun and shooting it off just because he can.
Again, the last nuclear test was done by North Korea, and it caused Tsunami and flooding in Philippines.
If you want to lecture a country, why not send a message to China about their interference in Darfur? Why is America the target of flagellation and scorn--until someone needs help?
EPGAH 2 years ago
because the USA says 1 thing of non interferance yet gives money to terrorists to destabalize other nations? China doesnt give a shit, the US should be better then that.
