Why is it that when DNA evidence shows someone to be guilty, we still have to have hearings, a trial etc,...but when DNA evidence shows someone to be innocent the genearl attitude is "SET EM FREE, END O' STORY" DNA evidence can be corrupted to falsely show guilt or innocence. You can't poo poo the same method you later swear by.

I worked for USA Today when this story broke in 1993 and never once thought I'd still be following it 15 years later. These boys, excuse me, men have been totally screwed by the system. Come September-October, it'll be proven that they are innocent. It's a shame they can't get financial restitution for their time in prison. I am from West Memphis and I remember when that happened. Some of the girls who testified in that trial did so just to get attention. Also, Gary Gitchell was my old employer's private investigator... He is a moron! They are innocent and most of the folks in the town know it. At the time this happened, it was like a huge witch hunt!

Jesse Miskelly was interogated by the police for several hours without being able to inb=voke his right to counsel and told that if he confessed, he could go home. Keep in mind that Jesse MIskelly has an iq that classifies him as mentally retarded.

If you can get a hold of it, read the Writ of Habeas Corpus lodged in the Arkansas Supreme Court by Damien's defence at the end of '07... That makes for some interesting reading and also opens another can of worms as to should prosecutions be launched against members of the jury as well as misconduct charges brought against prosecutors...

Reading the full run down on this case actually made me ill. I've never seen something so perverse as the police who did this and the culture around them. They had no respect for the defendants, kids themselves, and nor for the victims, as the person responsible for their deaths is now free. If the actions and events that led to their grossly wrongful convictions were a joke, it would make a great tragicomic play - Shakespearean in the depth of its madness.

I've been following this case for 8 years and see-sawed over whether the WM3 were guilty or not...finally came to the solid answer that they're innocent big time. I've read all the books and own the dvd's & I'm finally buying the t-shirt. Lord, let's get going on a new trial (a real trial this time) and these men will be set free - hopefully with sincere apologies from the people responsible for their incarceration in the first place.
