I rode this ride back when it was new in 2000. You have no idea how much scarier this ride was back then. There was no bar in front of you and from what I hear now there is one. All the log was was a slim bench in the middle and two bars on each side to hang on to. That's all that was keeping you inside. If you let go for some reason on that last drop, your ass was coming out of that log.

Lol when I went it was just the way u described it, there was like 5 inches of water in the bottom of the log, and the rails on the side were soooo slippery. If you didn't have a good grip then u was just shit outta luck! I was so scared, but it was sooo much fun!!!

I loved this ride. Although Bluto's Barges was my fave water ride in the world, I just love the wackiness of this log flume. I am glad the fire was not causing permanent damage, I can ride again in May when I next visit!

could Lost Continent be closing as part of a 2011-2014 refurbisment of the park?

Could it turn into a Lord Of The Rings area? Or another rumor is it might be closed for a Harry Potter expansion.
