we fast from 6a.m to 7p.m on the same day everyday during fasting month (just a rough timing. its about there.) so, that makes it 12 hours...

True fasting was never done for 12 hours and then proclaimed it as a day of fast like Muslims did proclaiming hypocritically as a 30 days fasting of Ramadan. All ancient prophets and Christians fasted a fast of day as 1 day and 1 night sometimes even without water throughout the duration of the fast.

Proofs from the Holy Bible:

1] Esther 4:16 and

2] King David fasted 21 days of 24 hours per day NOT 12 HOURS!
