  • I used to see epic natural occurrences, then I took an arrow to the knee...

  • I thought you couldn't see the milky way in the south pole?

  • Amazing shooting.

  • How beautiful~ But I can't see it in my country, I must go there, that so far far way~

  • I can't imagine how breathtaking an aurora would be to see.

  • i want to witness this before i die !!!

  • This is the milky way galaxy and the aurora borealis being shot together. It is made of WIN and PURE AWESOME EPICNESS!

  • Brilliant, I wish I could see that.

  • PRETTY!!!!!!

  • wow!!!!!........beautiful

  • AWWW nice you get to see the DORADO constellation, because your in the south and the milky way is at its brightest there!! Dorado constelllation is close to Zeta Reticuli or home of the Aliens that visit us look it up im not joking :D , if you havea telescope or binoculars look towards dorado constellation and look for any weird moving objects

  • RULE #1: ALWAYS, ALWAYS WATCH THESE KINDS OF VIDEOS IN FULLSCREEN 720P!

  • I once read the Auroras are just the inner sun shining outwards from the north or south pole entrances. lol

Nevertheless, this is beautiful, I would be awe-struck to see it in person :)

  • so aurora borealis must be the "Northern Lights"=D

  • how did you see the milky way so clear?

  • Why the aurora australis is visible from New Zealand and is not visible from Tierra del Fuego (Argentina-Chile) any explanation?

  • I've seen the lights on so many times both from Tasmania and from beaches here in Southern Australia. An absolutely amazing sight. Well done on the video : )

  • best time lapse I've seen!

  • my head just exploded with awesome

  • wish i could see the milky way where i live pollution and city lights equals pretty boring night skies

  • woah ive never seen nothwern or southern lights it would be SO COOL if i could see them in the real life thumbs up if you agree......is that really the milky way???

  • !!!!!!!!ESTA INCREIBLE¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • ive been to places with minimum light pollution and i tought holy dam thats alot of stars but then i saw this video and now i want to move to new zeland.

  • I live in Christchuch, and around late August/Sept 2010 I saw that the western night sky had a beautiful pale greenish glow. I only noticed it because I know what an aurora australis is and I guessed it was that. It was very faint tho.

  • amazing shot of the milkyway and far auralis australis. the distance from Otago NZ to southern pole is about 2700 nm... i think, there is still hope for us who live at southern cities than Finland,Norway etc. :)

  • Beautiful..just..beautiful..

  • THATS AMAZIING! XD

  • brilliant, nice work

  • Amazing time lapse, very peaceful. The car headlights provide a nice effect against the Earth's rotation and the Aurora. I was in Lake Tekapo a few months ago, for the first time in my life I could see the Milky Way stretching from both horizons. Simply amazing!

  • @lhawkerNZ I was there last December, it was awesome!

  • wow really amazing great job !!!

  • That is a truly amazing video

  • good job mate. i really wanted to see this event

  • wow thats amazing !!!!!! what time of the year can this be seen ? ( i didnt even know Aurora could be seen from nz) .how many photos did you take all together ?

  • @electroryan Auroras happen when an explosion happens on the sun and sends a solar wind to the poles. This sequence was shot from about 7 at night until after midnight. One frame every 30 seconds.

  • @wowstockfootage not 100% correct the particles bend the magnetic field and particles stream around the magnetioc field towards the poles, the sun does not shoot them towards the magnetic poles though

  • @wowstockfootage wonderfull!!! what kind of camera did you use? how could you picture the stars and the smoke(is it the orion smoke?)

  • OMG...that is amazing! :)

  • how did you know that this was going to happen??? I would love to see it for real !!!

  • @Ni213Ki A saw the first signs in photos I took the night before so the following night I was ready!
