As an Asian male I've dated pretty White, Asian, Black and Hispanic women. When I was younger, sometimes I'd get self-conscious, then game over. But the older I get, the easier it gets to hook up, maybe because I finally learned the sweet spot in an encounter. I have a male friend. He's a black dude. He's darkskinned, kind of short, and not to be rude, he's say... a 6 on a scale of 1-10. We were hanging and the topic of sex came up. He told me that in the past he has only dated Hispanic or White women, even if they were a little big. We didn't discuss the race issue further, but it's obvious. This isn't something that is in black womens heads, it's the reality of how we are being represented. It's not fair and we're not crazy.

it depends on the location. In California, where I live, you hardly ever see an Asian couple. If you see an asian woman, 8 out of 10 times she is with a white man.

Now, I'm not saying this video doesn't bring up many good points, but you're very insensitive to mixed race women in this video. While in this entertainment industry they may strive when playing African American roles, you won;t see them in movies that aren't specifically meant for African American audiences. And I'm sick of watching videos trying to support the Black women that simultaneously bring down the mixed race black woman. A woman can be mixed and still be black.
How does anything in this video bring mixed-race women down? I know you see videos that do do that so now you think any video that mentions mixed-race women is bringing them down. I did not say a single negative thing about mixed-race women. You're being oversensitive.

Growing up mixed, I've had people telling me that I'm not black over and over and over. Sorry if I get sensitive over that.
And that is bringing me down. Because I'm proud to be black. And I'm proud to be white. And every time you say something that eludes to someone who has anything that isn't black in them to not being black, it puts me down.
What the hell are they referred to brown races who are obviously not black and not white but you can tell whether they are middle eastern, Latino, or mixed. I was not talking about women who's race you can't positively identify without asking them.
All I'm saying is that videos always refer to mixed race women as "not black", but it's not true. Mixed race girls go through struggle too. Being lighter presents it's perks... a higher place in the race hierarchy that I do agree exists. But that doesn't make that person "non-black".
I don't know. I just don't like when that term is used to describe me(mixed race).

As an Asian male I've dated pretty White, Asian, Black and Hispanic women. When I was younger, sometimes I'd get self-conscious, then game over. But the older I get, the easier it gets to hook up, maybe because I finally learned the sweet spot in an encounter. A friendly approach, appreciating and recognizing her strengths in a non-threatening way, works well. Being wealthy and Ivy-educated doesn't seem to hurt (unsheathed in a self-respecting way, of course). Women do study your prospects.

Among the very valid issues concerning the black/white dynamic in dating choices is the also very real issue that most black women are at the least overweight (70+%), and are often obese (50+%).
Other races of women have more of an option of dating men of their own races as well as men from other races because more of them are found as attractive in either case. This was an excellent video. Anyone that watches TV notices the pattern. Usually the black males on a sitcom are dark skin, while the women are light skin.

I also believe that it's ingrained in many of the white people feel they are superior to all other races. Well i never said TV & rap are the end all be all, but they do greatly affect race relations. People see blacks on the news for committing crimes & they may start to think most black commit crimes. Or they see a rapper & they think all black men act like that. Either way the media & pop culture shapes race relations far more than books so the "pick up a book" thing does fit in this case.

I have a male friend. He's a black dude. He's darkskinned, kind of short, and not to be rude, he's say... a 6 on a scale of 1-10. We were hanging and the topic of sex came up. He told me that in the past he has only dated Hispanic or White women, even if they were a little big. We didn't discuss the race issue further, but it's obvious. This isn't something that is in black womens heads, it's the reality of how we are being represented. It's not fair and we're not crazy.

This is so true. It's something I've always looked at & been deeply concerned about. It is heart-breaking to grow up & watch yourself not (or rarely) represented in tv shows that are suppose to depict the "black family". I used to love to get some rest and rewind by watching tv. But this blatant anti-black female behavior is one of the reasons I stopped watching it & (for the most part) patronizing movie theaters.

it depends on the location. In California, where I live, you hardly ever see an Asian couple. If you see an asian woman, 8 out of 10 times she is with a white man.
If you see a child that is clearly half white/half Asian, ALMOST ALWAYS, his mom is Asian and his dad is white. (I am black by the way...so no bias. Just observation)

Now, I'm not saying this video doesn't bring up many good points, but you're very insensitive to mixed race women in this video. While in this entertainment industry they may strive when playing African American roles, you won;t see them in movies that aren't specifically meant for African American audiences. And I'm sick of watching videos trying to support the Black women that simultaneously bring down the mixed race black woman. A woman can be mixed and still be black.

All I'm saying is that videos always refer to mixed race women as "not black", but it's not true. Mixed race girls go through struggle too. Being lighter presents it's perks... a higher place in the race hierarchy that I do agree exists. But that doesn't make that person "non-black".
