we need rail - but LIGHT RAIL! It doesn't mess up the view mauka or makai and it costs a couple $Billion less.

The government goes through great lengths to make sure that the people on the east side of the island can stay in their cars. Just look at the most expensive, least used freeway in America (H-3). They blow through mountains and desecrate Hawaiian burial sites to make sure the people on the east side of the island can stay in their cars. What's the solution for the west side? RAIL!? an unfair solution to the people of the west side of Oahu. I would like to see Mufi ride it everyday to work.

Honolulu needs a rail but let's not overlook the importance of development around each station.

So why are suburbs planned in West Oahu? That promotes car use, not mass transit.
