Gliding. PW5 wave soaring.

It thermals very well but it is not fast. Usable LD about 30. It's a light glider.

Yes they are about 10K Euros together with the trailer and a chute. Cheap, as they are not popular. You may need strong lift to soar it as the wing area is not very large (12metre span) When others enjoying in the weak lift you might fall out of the sky :(

It's the Vario, the Higher the Beep the faster he climbs if there is a constant tone it means you are going straight or decending the lower the tone the faster you are decending this way the pilot doesnt have to watch his instruments all the time and will he be able to focus on the other gliders in the thermal

That noise/beeping is the Variometer. Tells you when your going up.

thats a "vario" if it is a solid tone you decend, and if it is beeping like you heard in the movie you are climbing the highter the tone the faster you climb,

@euromarkus.. no from what ive seen, no gliders have stall warnings. its the variometer. as read in other comments..... man this is awesome clip. EXELLENT, got me exicted again.! flown the pw5 twice now.. beatiful ship to fly.

I have never wave soared before and to see that was magic. We have a two week camp every year to a wave site in australia. We never take the PW-5 though. Is it safe to fly it in wave. Does its lite weight make it more of a risk. Great video please let me know i want to prove everybody wrong on the PW-5. They all think its unsafe:-)
