Great video!! What kind of mallets/sticks do you use? My treble stick isn't very flexible. I think it'd be a little easier to play if I had something flexible like yours.
I came up with a variant on this that uses the same three-beat cycle (2 clicks and a rest). It is a 24-beat pattern: Kin Dha Ge Na Dha rest, Na Na Ge Na Dha rest, Na Kin Ge Dha Na rest, Dha Na Ge Dha Na rest. Thanks for the video.
so dhol players dont speak the BOLS? the notes, i mean if present them , then it would be easier to learn if you could speak the bols of the drum! it makes more sense when spoken.
@tintala lol ok go into youtube and type ravi dana and listen to the rolls once you realize how fast the rolls are you will realize why alot of us don`t even bother saying the bols while playing
@monikhushalpuri yeah but when your learning, a beginner does not play lighting fast or speak lightning fast, it helps to learn the bolks and speak them tilll you get better SLOWLY , just like tabla or ghatam or whatever.. what beginner can play or speak fast? You missed the point of my post obvioulsy.
@Rohit84up yet your un name is Rohit..............why are you here watching this video go watch Bieber if you don't like it instead of posting spammy racist remarks. This is a learning video.....please get a life.
I have heard this dhol beat that dholis play but i dont know the bols or what it is called.
Dha Na-Na Na-Na Na-Na Na-Na Na-Na Na .... Thats all i could make out of it but after the last Na on the dhol, it looked like they were randomly hitting the sides together and it sounded really good.
Im sorry i cant tell you more, but if you work out the beat then please upload a video of how to do it!
I think your video's are reallllly helpful. But i think if you can include the notes in there it would really be more helpful and easier to get the beats.-Thanks
